I noted Dave recommending a small Chillblast box for controlling ip cameras, and thought it might be useful to relate my recent experience with Chillblast. My days of bothering with self build are long gone as the savings/hassle equation is finely balanced. I have therefore been using Chillblast for the last five years and will use them again for my Ryzen box.
I emailed Chillblast to ask them where on their web site they would be publishing the Intel/AMD fixes for Meltdown & Spectre. They patiently explained that contrary to the info put out on-line they are not actually responsible for promulgating the fixes – instead it is the mobo manufacturers who have that responsibility. However, Jason of Chillblast went on to say that they would still like Chillblast customers to contact themselves so that they can give the correct web link(s) for their build and help if things go pear shaped. (btw there are no fixes available at present for most boxes – a few NUCs only iirc as the Intel fixes have had to be reworked).
I personally found this degree of support refreshing and they earn a big thumbs up? from me.
