      I just got me a Pioneer BDR-209DBK .

The drive provides special attention to ripping and burning.

Its also incredibley fast and here in lies the question.

This drive will hit x40 speed to the end of ripping a cd. Do pioneer know what they or doing or should I put the brakes on the rip speed? But then slowing a drive down can cause errors.

      Your opinion.

It’s been a while since I ripped a CD (though I may have to soon), but I always found slower speeds resulted in fewer errors.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

CD/DVD ripping is one of the jobs I set up and go out somewhere. I hate the noise of the drive spinning.

Erm, the new drive is almost silent, it grips the disc different to other drives.

Never had any errors when ripping at 16x
