At the charity I look after we use a product called Syspectr to monitor the health of the PCs I’ve just come to renew their subscription to find out it’s now free! You install an agent on the PC and it reports back to O & Os German servers, you view a web console through a browser.
It does a full hardware and software audit (you can uninstall some apps from the console) and monitors key Windows functions like AV, Firewall, UAC state and Updates (you can kick off waiting updates). Hard drives are monitored for free space, SMART attributes and real time temperature. You can set thresholds and are emailed if these are exceeded. It also includes a Remote Console for the command line and a full Remote Desktop (think Team Viewer) . You can block USB sticks.
It tells you the Windows version, internal and external IP address, when it was started (or last seen) and if it needs a reboot. You can do a remote shutdown or reboot and create a PDF report for download. You can create multiple sub accounts to organise a lot of PCs (or customers) and have others administer or view them (useful for people like me). What it doesn’t do is collect information on files or users so no personal data is captured.
I have been using it for 3 years now and it’s incredibly useful. Even if you only have 1 device it’s worth installing just to see what’s going on. As we’re all probably the IT resource for family and friends it makes that easier too, especially the remote desktop.
EDIT – just attached a report of my laptop. The console goes into much more depth / detail.

May 2, 2018 at 7:27 pm #20323I very much like O&O software, been using it for 10 years.
They love giving away the version before current for free, and I then acquire licenses in bulk ?
On various of the 20 plus machines I look after I’m using O&O SafeErase 11 Professional, O&O DiskImage 11 Professional, O&O DiskRecovery 11 Professional, O&O Defrag 18 Professional, and O&O AutoBackup 6 Professional. All acquired free of charge.
Never trust an atom - they make up everything !
