Anything is fair and gratefully received and hope I have not come across as saying it is not. :good:

Forumite Points: 0I donate every 2 months, the last one was 20/04/17 sadly it’s missed this months estimate.
May 26, 2017 at 10:27 pm #7981I value this forum very highly, but on our fixed income I cannot afford to donate more than £5, having set up a regular monthly payment. I offer that as a suggestion to any other forumites. I think we all have a good idea how much this is all costing Lee to run and I believe that he could probably plan his outgoings more successfully if he was confident of a known amount of regular monthly income.
I hope I have explained myself well enough there. I also would not object to a couple of ads at the side, with no audio please! Another basis for a regular income. I have not lost sight of the way Lee took all this upon himself and provided us with another place to share conversations about anything and everything.
And I like the new changes.

I'm out.May 26, 2017 at 10:53 pm #7982I think after further thought the subscription idea I’m my previous post may be the best route and judging by past donations I’ll set it at about £3.50 pm. If any one has issues with this let me know either here or via PM. I may also as my previous post suggests add a forumite email option so rather than paying £3.50 it would be £5.50. These are just ideas at the moment but a plan none the less.

May 27, 2017 at 7:16 am #7987Thanks Lee – I just wanted an idea of what you need to keep going as I really appreciate this site.
May 27, 2017 at 7:58 am #7988You have a little bit extra this month Lee, as useless Paypal does not allow a regular payment to be changed. Buy yourself a beer!
It is cancel a regular payment or nothing. So if you want to increase a payment you need to cancel it first. If Forumites want to increase their donation but not ‘double-up’ they should do this cancelling and setting up of a new payment just before the normal donation date.
May 27, 2017 at 10:55 am #7989Cheers @edps
When I do bring the new system in shortly all paypal subscriptions will have to be cancelled. :negative: The reason being Paypal will be directly talking to my subscription system I do not want it be getting into an habit of me marking people as paid, it’s a nightmare and I have to do it with a few on my hosting site prior to a domain change, I hate it, especially if I forget.
On an other note the heavens have opened up here, it’s wonderful :yahoo:

May 27, 2017 at 11:14 am #8016We’ve had a stormy morning here so far today, but it’s been all noise. Except for a 15 minute strong drizzle that was enough to chase the dogs into the conservatory, but made no difference to the garden!! It’s sunny now and no trace of the rain on the patio!!
May 27, 2017 at 4:14 pm #8026OK, so an update. I will start the new subscription model on the 25th June “Next Month” so I suggest no more donations until then or you will end up paying twice. I am going to create more info on the subject shortly but thought best I get this in there before anything else. :good:

May 27, 2017 at 4:21 pm #8028OK I’ll give it a bit then cancel my current donation!

Forumite Points: 0What if you don’t want an email, will we have the choice on subscription setup.
oooppss email option suggests choice.
Donation is easy to pay (if when you have it) Subscription is commitment, not sure if I can commit.
May 27, 2017 at 8:18 pm #8051OK Lee that’s done, I’ll wait for subs to start. Sounds fine to me.

May 27, 2017 at 8:37 pm #8056@edps I have put a few thing in place to cure the back/forward or leave the page and come back to a part completed reply or post. It simply works for some and not others so its a browser issue for now. Give it a go, you may be lucky :good:

May 27, 2017 at 9:55 pm #8061Did it work for you? Did not work in FF for me but did in chrome. FF has adblock and chrome does not.

May 28, 2017 at 7:14 am #8068No, Firefox did not play ball, although I have Fiirefox UBlock this is a ‘trusted’ site. Ditto add-ons etc.but it still does not cache the page
It is only a very minor irritant. Don’t bust a gut trying to fix it. I’m sure you have better things to do.May 28, 2017 at 5:28 pm #8091Is there any way of marking a Forum as ‘read’. Although recent topics grey out when read I have found no way of changing a Forum to a read status or marking all as read.
May 28, 2017 at 5:38 pm #8092I was hoping no one would notice, its broken  I was going to fix it tomorrow.
