Lee do you have a place to report quirks? I can’t see it. But it would be a good idea to have a single place for people to report quirks as the find them.
Anyhow I just tried yo upload a screen shot, not a big picture 1080 x 1920 and the software reported back it was to large. Not sure if thst is a bug or not. But that is a small pic for today’s Standards.
December 9, 2016 at 3:25 am #790No not yet but I will up the limits once I have moved the site to its own server. I’ll start going through all the quirks once I know its in its final resting place.
Did it say the file size was to large or the image size, must be the file size.

December 9, 2016 at 3:51 am #792Can’t remember I try again here.
December 9, 2016 at 3:55 am #793Test 2 I’ll try the actual pic icon ad I imaging that will resize the pic. Didn’t notice that before. But the above post I tried the ‘file’ but in and it replied when 512kb Max (I think)

December 9, 2016 at 3:59 am #797December 9, 2016 at 4:03 am #798Sorry Lee I can’t seem to get any of the obvious ways to work, however it doesn’t mean they won’t work from a differnt source.
What confuses the issue is there is 3 obvious ways to insert a pic within the posting box ui, one is file upload, one is insert a URL to photo (just may not accept Google photos url will try with flicker in a moment) and the other is the traditional way of uploading a photo to the server, same as file upload bit for pics, but non seem to work.
I’ll try yo link forn Flickr and see what was happens.

This is a much larger photo than the others I was trying 24mp iirc.
Right figured it. It doesn’t linking at all but I think it’s does to file size, but thst should be an issue as its just a container and takes no real space. However I’ve just figured for file upload is set at half a MB, and your photo upload is set to 2mb. The file size is probably fine the photo size could do with either enlarging or some type of plug in that shrinks the pic on upload. Mm does that, as do most forums, and destroys the photos. But I don’t mind that as I use that ad a basic “thumb nail” and leave a link inder/over to the origanal full res.
I think compressing the shit out of the pics is the best way to go for your management of storage space and bandwidth . Just show a’good enough’ representation of the photograph, and let the poster link out to the res. That is if you can’t enable a container to show the full res off googs/flic/ms server. (if thst makes senses).
My debugging is done for one night I’m off to watch the shitty new topgear then grabbing an hour before the day starts.
I see I’ve also been demoted! :negative: 😉
December 10, 2016 at 11:16 am #811I tried again a few ways cut seem to get it to work. I’ll have another look after

Forumite Points: 0Well, it could be just the way I browse the forums and intentional but:
1) Browsing to forumite.co.uk, the red banner covers some of the controls at the top.
2) Does clicking the “forum” button in the red banner show the latest posts? If so, then that’s my biggest confusion removed, as that’s how I used to browse the MM forums, not go into the individual areas, just hit the Latest posts button
3) Personal taste, I’d like a border around the typing box, instead of just a white square with no border.
4) Personal taste, the red banner is quite chunky. Wouldn’t be a problem if scrolling down the page hid it (as in the banner is at the top of the page and doesn’t move down the page to the viewable area)
6) I seem to have subscribed to receive emails for when replies occur to this thread. I see how to set it to not email me, but does that setting apply to just this post, or thread wide. Would people need to make a post to unsubscribe to the emails?
December 11, 2016 at 10:01 pm #875Ok, So forum in the menu shows latest replies.
Emails can be customised by going to your profile and find email settings.
The menu should bot be covering anything, what browser ar you using?

Forumite Points: 0I’m on Chrome, on Ubuntu 16.04.
Also, not quite sure how to get the images to be embedded and clickable to the full image on here, as you can see from the 300 edits I’ve had to do on the post 😛
December 11, 2016 at 10:53 pm #882I see, that page is scrap, I am just getting the forum good first. I have not added image options yet. Should be done for tomorrow.
