You’d think by the mess, that the referendum wasn’t well thought out, And the the question open to interpritoin, and more importantly, manipulation!
So when you have almost 20 million people seemingly voting on a simple yes no question, actually turns out that half of them was all voting for different outcomes.
Maybe the offical leave campaign should of shown some backbone, and stood tall and told the Pubic all the handger on unofical leave campaigns was talking shite about their objectives, as they had zero clout to make any happen.
The majority of the 51% was sold a lie. If the bublic doesn’t get a second vote on the final terms, ie facts, it would be criminal, and un democratic. The very thing that some of the leave side find so sacred to them. So ironic they are terrified of another poblic vote.
Personally I’m finding the whole proccess boring now, I just want if over one way or another, so we gan start to move forward again. We are stuck tredding water atm, and slowly sinking.
October 15, 2018 at 8:09 am #27193So a Hard Brexit is now nearly inevitable, or is it?
A hard Brexit means a hard border with Eire – even if is the EU that applies it and not the UK. The DUP continue to make it clear that if necessary they would bring down the Government in that situation. So it now looks like new Election or new Referendum.
October 15, 2018 at 4:28 pm #27209I’ve said since pre vote, that even if leave won, which I didn’t think possible tbh, THEY (whomever they is), wouldn’t let us leave.
In the same spirit, I would of like the Scott’s to of voted out of the UK a few years earlier, as I’d of like to see how ‘THEY’ would get out of that. I said this on mm.
Well I got my morbid wish, now its like watching a car crash in extremely slow motion. I wish it would just sipped up abit now. I got bored.
I’ve lost interest tbh, just make a decision and do it, or not, ether way just do something and we can start form there.
But it will be fun once aging, once the gov giv us a second vote. A lot of people are gonna lose their shit.
If we remain, it will be the others losing their ‘mental’ shit, if we leave, we’ll all lose collectively. I’m sure the wealthy will do all right hovering all the depreciated lands and properties up. Nothing like a good old redistribution of the wealth! Though I’m never on the receiving end of that one! Lol.
Atleast we’ll have blue passports again. Have they began yet? If not I’d like the French company that is making them to make the the blue colour of the frence flag. 1.its a nicer colour, and 2 people would lose their collected 51% shit.
To be fair, it’s probly 2% of the 51, that actually cares about the colour of our passports.
Can’t wait till it gets fun again. ?
#BREXITisSTALE ??

Lol?
October 15, 2018 at 6:21 pm #27218Can be sky blue pink for all I care as long as they take all reference to the EU off it.
October 15, 2018 at 6:46 pm #27220I may have mentioned this before but I flew back to Heathrow from Thailand in 2003 and was surprised to find a UK passports only que at immigration. Our que had 5 people in it and the all other passports que had a jumbo jets worth. The man in front of me presented and EU passport and was told ” Yes you have the same right of entry as someone with a UK passport but this que is for UK passports only so you must join the other que”. Nearly laughed my head off.
The other thing I noticed was the number of people in the all other que clutching EU passports. What were these peoples travel plans ?
October 15, 2018 at 8:09 pm #27226Obviously a hand over form the empire days. In reality they should of allowed the EU PP peeps through the uk line. The sign should of been replaced with an EU one.
I remeber reading a passport once as a kid, would of been the old style one, in a tupid black binder type thing. I still have it. It was a joint passport, and I was added to it by dust my name added.
How easy must it of been to smuggle babies? Also who thought a joint passport was a good idea? Bonkers.
October 19, 2018 at 12:39 pm #27341All going a bit flat on the negotiation front. I do wish Mrs May would get on with her great surrender so I can have have something to be outraged about ?
October 19, 2018 at 7:23 pm #27345Graham, as you are a very pro-Brexiteer perhaps you could explain two things to me:
a) How can we have an open border, with free movement of people (no checks or controls), but in the words of Theresa May “We will have full control over our borders”?
b) How can we have a Hard Brexit without the EU imposing a border between North & South so breaking the signed agreement between May, Ireland and the DUP.
Something has to give and May has so far acknowledged the need to negotiate.
October 19, 2018 at 11:21 pm #27350Dear Ed. Oh come on you must have spotted I was just being deliberately annoying ? But as you took the bait if we are not going to put up a hard border with N Ireland and the EU wont either then who will ? Ireland ? Cant see it myself.
October 20, 2018 at 7:25 am #27364Under WTO rules there has to be something. Have a look at this article C4 News fact check, not the BBC ?
“Any approach which does not involved the UK remaining within the EU Single Market and the EU Customs Union will result in the imposition of some physical border controls because the legal guarantees of regulatory equivalence, mutual recognition, and non-barriers will require checks.”
It’s not just the monetary side i.e. tariffs, but that’s all your hear about.
“the EU’s existence as a free trade area depends on its ability to demonstrate to the WTO that it can control its external borders properly.”
You don’t hear about that one either when the WTO is mentioned.
A one way border?
“under WTO rules, unless you’re in a free trade bloc like the EU or NAFTA, you have to obey the “most favoured nation” rule. That means if you lower trade tariffs for one trading partner, you have to lower tariffs to all your other partners.”
There’s loads more in the article, including borders in the Irish Sea and we’ll have zero tariffs (the Wetherspoon Mainfesto). Just saying we won’t put up a border so why should they? is just fantasy land under any scenario.
October 20, 2018 at 2:05 pm #27379I sense another Oh come on moment here ?. C4 neutral ? They have a legal requirement in their charter to be perverse dont they ? And the Universities of Birmingham, Durham and Newcastle ? I dont know why they are totally against Brexit but everything they come out with says they are. Could be an EU grant thing ?
The EU can have any border arangements it likes if it wants to. Look at the swiss or for that matter any other country the EU borders.
October 20, 2018 at 2:46 pm #27380It cannot have any borders it wants by the rules of the World Trade Organisation and neither can we. The Swiss are part of the single market and must abide by the appropriate rules. Rules which we want to reject. Fair enough but you have to take what goes with it. You cannot just stick up 2 fingers and say we ain’t gonna do that.
Between the EU and Macedonia is a proper old fashioned border. My kids were woken at 2 am by border guards on the train who took their passports away for checking and stamping.
The world ticks along using certain international conventions that only pariah states ignore. If you want a trade relationship with others then some way of behaving must be observed, by both parties.
October 20, 2018 at 3:12 pm #27383As usual the devil is in the detail, but politicians never get involved in detail. That is why they make so many cocked-up laws and introduce half-baked systems such as Universal Woes( (Credit). The Brexit MPs are the worst of the lot, I do not think any of them have read their detailed briefing papers.
When they do, and perhaps understand the detailed constraints, there will be a big ‘Oh Sh*t moment!’
October 20, 2018 at 4:37 pm #27385Perhaps they will but I dont see it myself. I REALLY want to stick two fingers up at THEIR common fishing policy and THEIR comnon farming policy and THEIR customs union. Really Really up theirs.
October 20, 2018 at 5:37 pm #27388You may have to settle for a single middle digit.
October 20, 2018 at 7:40 pm #27391Yep it looks like they are going to be able to stick a finger up to our leave vote.
October 20, 2018 at 7:48 pm #27392Why do you want the EU them ? Why why why ? What for ? You think they know better than the UK people. You dont think they are out to rob us blind ? They ARE.
October 20, 2018 at 7:51 pm #27393I will say again. Why do you like them ? They hate you and me.
October 20, 2018 at 8:08 pm #27394They will happily take your money if you pop over for a holiday but remember they are taking money.
