We have had nearly 12 months of Brexit, so it is time to do a retrospective analysis of wins and losses.

      a) Control our Borders – total failure. Illegal immigration is at an all time high. Many illegals say that Brexit has made it an easier choice as the EU no longer takes illegals back to France. Legal immigration is also a failure as many companies have been driven to the wall by the shortage of foreign workers.

      b) Boost Exports – another failure, best summed up by today’s headline:                                                                     “UK steel industry braces for slump in trade as US reduces tariffs on EU”

EU trade has of course been massively hit by Brexit, and the Financial sector has taken a massive hit.

      c) Northern Ireland: BoJo’s lies are still in play, and it is hard to see how this will end.

      d) NHS – A partial failure. Some money was pledged, but not the new money that was on BoJo’s election bus.

      e) New trade deals – hardly anything to write home about.

      f) Take Back Control – Total failure, the EU even beat us to the punch on publishing a draft AI bill. Regulations if anything have become a lot more complex, and the impact of dealing with EU import/export forms is a very expensive business that slows everything down. ‘But it was all going to be so easy, and never mind the detail feel the freedom!’.

Covid unfortunately has hidden a lot of the negatives. but The Times (Murky Dogs pro-Brexit Shill) has had to admit that it was not a resounding success!

Of course The Mail just ignores the anniversary and pretends that it all went swimmingly, and where it didn’t it was all the fault of Covid! Their (and The Expreses) love affair with BoJo now looks on very shaky ground, and almost as bad as that between BoJo and Jennifer Acuri.

It’s hardly started, wait until the paperwork gets more and more onerous, especially when it comes to personal travel.
