Dan: yes, their dad. My son, his kids being my smashing grandbrats.

Steve, your mate smoking in the house is worse for anyone else in the house at the same time. Family, guests, anyone. It’s called Passive Smoking and it is just as dangerous for those breathing in the expelled smoke, than the dangerous crap the smoker is taking in. Those non-smokers who are exposed to that, have no choice. Why should they suffer possible lung & heart problems, often years down the line, because a smoker cba to take it outside? This is all scientifically proved Steve, cannot be denied.

When my son’s marriage broke up and he was given full custody of his two children, I reminded him that then 2yo grandson had been diagnosed with Asthma. If he smoked in the house, I told him, he would make it very much worse. Well, he loves those kids, always has done, so he took to going to the bottom of his garden and smoking there. Even vaping as he does now, he does outside.

Back to the meet up, if given enough time to get a cheap premier inn (etc) ill have a drive in to enemy tertiary .

Duke I’m in Wigan and spend a lot of  weekends in Liverpool, the Wirral and  North Wales so Manchester is enemy territory only because there is no sea. I’d be up for a meet up only a short train journey

Always the Ship Canal if you like slightly less polluted water than the Irish Sea, Mark. ??

Or the many lakes in Greater Manc…     http://tinyurl.com/yc8ay9ay

I was thinking more somewhere like The Old Monkey on Princess Street. We probably wouldn’t drown, there.

Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

Unless you want to drown your sorrows  ??.  To be fair Bob  Llandudno westwards the irish sea can be absolutely crystal clear especially around Anglesey had the best fishing trip ever last weekend got to see a pod of whales surfacing not 20 metres in front of us catching fish on that trip wouldn’t have mattered. Back on topic I’m away for 10 days from Saturday so any meet up after that in The old monkey I’m up for.

                Cheers Mark

Trearddur bay is one of my favourite places ever, ir rather a bit up the coast away from the tourists, in the coves. Water is crystal clear, sand is good. In a hot day is just the best.

We went there twice in two visits to Anglesey, on our last Llandudno holiday, recommended by the boss of the Anglesey Motor Museum. A very Welsh Williams he was, and looked very much like me*. Asked my name, when he learned my ancestry, he told me several places to go including that beautiful bay.

*Ran a motor museum and could talk motors all day, had to be a Williams! we worked out that his Family History could have been involved with mine. That was some bike my G5 grandfather had!

Trearddur bay is definitely a gem of a place I love craig y mor which wouldn’t look out of place in an old horror film. Plus mackerel rock is between there and South stack clue is in the name
