From about 7pm last night my Internet has been acting up. gradually slowing to a crawl than disconnecting. Happened about 6 times till sleep (early last night). Then been happening the last 2 hours.
Had a look on TT site to make sure I’m all paid up, and this wasn’t there way to encourage me to pay pay. but seems to be a rain damage the site read.
I then looked at open reaches map, and it seems alot of England is have some effects.
June 8, 2017 at 12:02 pm #8780Looking HERE it seems to align with what you say, time wise. Closest to you geographically on their outage map, is Manchester. Maybe your Fibre broadband is routed through there.
June 8, 2017 at 1:07 pm #8781Yes, I was. The missus moaned the internet was slow so I reset the router (virgin) but still playing up. Netflix kept going low bitrate. About 9:30pm ish. Speedtest.net was showing full wack as usual but I’m sure Virgin give their website a higher priority.

June 8, 2017 at 2:34 pm #8783One Google thing to come of this, I spoke to TT and they reduced my money thy bill by £15 ☺️, for me to sign up to another 24 months of course.
I think my issue is the white FTTC “modem” box. Re setting that brings my Internet back for about 2 hours. Then it dies again.
My router (seperate to the modem) reports “you isp DCHP does not function proper”. (see attachment) The router seems to be working fine, and only reseting the white modem brings me back in line.
TT are sending me a “super hub” so need to put that into modem mode or so thing when it arrives.
June 8, 2017 at 6:53 pm #8788Not had a problem here, but we are in one of the dryest parts of the UK, counting annual rainfall. When it does rain though, we can get absolute torrential downpours, being close to the North Sea and surrounded by rivers.
I am currently carrying out speedtests daily: after I have enough, I am going to ask Sky where my missing 3Mbps download went. From up to 20/5/17:
And after that date:
Always stable before and after, but just suddenly dropped around 3Mbps. I have accused them of throttling my speeds.

Steve, I’ve just been checking the Super Router options on TT and they are one of the three shown HERE. The HG633 seems to be ridiculed, the 635 praised highly and the D-Link seems mediocre. See Topic HERE.
If your keeping your Asus router set-up and just using their Router as a Modem, maybe check out which one is the easiest to delve into and set up like that.:-)
June 8, 2017 at 9:45 pm #8802I didn’t get an option John. Il have to see what turns up in the post. Cross my fingers the one I want has to option to just be a modem.
June 8, 2017 at 10:25 pm #8805Yeah had some in Manchester today with BT, but that was because I had unplugged my Pi and therefore DNS lookups weren’t working nicely. ?
