By Gary Bell, QC. The story of a lad from a Nottinghamshire pit village, just a few miles from the pit village I grew up in. He had the most amazing life: layabout, sacked from some of the most boring, dead end jobs, after leaving his comprehensive school with no qualifications. The road to becoming a QC is the daftest, craziest, bravest story I have ever read and I recommend it without question. For obvious reasons, being from the same background, I could relate to the bloke. How does such a man, from such a background, wind up married to a beautiful, upper class daughter of a double-barrelled Head of one of the most prestigious Law Chambers? That is the story.
Oh – and he is a Forest supporter who was part of the Mad Squad, a small but vicious bunch of thugs who gave us all a bad name.
I’m still laughing at some of his antics on the way, and some of the cases are almost unbelievable. And FAF.
