Has any one had any experience of these boxes. I think it would fit my needs as I could install all my required services on one such as Netflix, Amazon, Nowtv and Kodi for my Live TV from my TV/Video server.

This means I could get shut of the PC’s from around the TV’s. I don’t require HD or 1080p or what ever the latest is.

I have seen these boxes for around £40 – £60.

Get a Fire stick. Apps 2 Fire and the Fire TV remote app are your friends.

Configuring Kodi is a bit more involved but no big issue.

I might be able to find one for you tomorrow if you are interested.

Cheers PM. That’s the problem though, Kodi, I just want it to work and I know it does on my android phone no issues, so does nowtv and Netflix.

Kodi works fine on the Fire Stick when it’s set up.

It just takes longer to set up than usual, using the Fire remote app helps alot.

The fire TV is a good kodi box. Not sure about the stick, but I’d imagine the latest £25 stick has the same umph as our first gen fire £80 box.

The only drawback, (this may of changed) is how amazon os handles side-loaded apps. It bugs me, but the wife loves the amazon box.

And can the Amazon take Netflix and Nowtv?

I use a Fire TV for Kodi but also used to set up devices like this

I used App2Fire to install Kodi on the Fire TV from my Android phone and Kore as the remote.

It does Netflix fine, not tried NowTv but I don’t see any problems with it.

This is what I was looking at. With company’s like Amazon with there own hardware I always worry about them taking an issy fit and blocking apps as Nowtv did with Plex.

The downside with the box’s like that one is hardly any support. It’s doubtful that they’ll get any security patches or updates.

I’ve done a few installs with them in the past but now it’s just Fire sticks or Box’s.

None of the solutions for under £50 are perfect, IMO the Fire devices are the best.

Apps2Fire has not worked for me with Kodi for a few weeks now….returns an error. Not sure if it’s just me but adblink is an alternative. You have to get the apk on your pc (easy enough) but it is an easy program to use

                          For adblink

                          and https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

for grabbing apk (any apk not just Kodi)

I think I’ll give the android box a shot first, thanks BL. ?

If you haven’t bought one already hold fire, I think I have one knocking about somewhere, it’s an older one but works fine. Just a bit slow.

Give that a whirl, don’t want any £, before spending out on a newer one. I’ll look tomorrow if you want it.
