Every Screwfix click and collect order I’ve done in the last 3 or so years has needed the card and a PIN verification. It’s a mild irritant as the shop is closer to mum’s place than mine and most of the stuff is ordered for there.

With Tesco click and collect orders they just want to see the payment card and sometimes some other id so other people can collect the order if they have access to the card and their own id.

Argos does the same if you pay and collect. The first to do this , or the first I come across was cinimas over 20 years ago. You could pre pay and book, but you needed to show your card on pick up of tickets.

Concerts do this, but go one stage further wanting a photo ID too, but this is to stop toutes buying up stock.

In most cases it’s just an anyance, and always try to see how close to their policy they [don’t] stick, most places , will just accept the email. I’ll always show the email with the reference code, before my card , just to see .cmost places, Argos not one, will just take the email. The cinima won’t either as usually it’s a machine that issues you the to ticket so you have to incert the card.

PM tesco have never asked to see my card. The email ony phone had always been enough. I got a few huddles and a win tabletandcphme over the last few years that way.
