I guess others could use the techniques with ordinary cameras to produce 3D models of objects or buildings. I think a lot of game developers (such as the Assassins Creed game crew) made a lot of use of the technique, as do some archaeologists. (most well funded professional ground based surveys use expensive time of flight laser kit to accomplish the 3D task and just use photogrammetry for texturing the model),
