      Hi,

I currently have a 21.5 inch 1920 x 1080 monitor. I was thinking of upgrading to 1440p. Due to the location of my PC within the house, I dont think a 27 inch would be viable (too big, too close etc) so I thought of a getting a 25 inch.

This would obviously be much bigger than my 21.5 inch one so I would notice a large difference in screen size, which is nice, however I have done a “quick” bit of research, which says 27 inch is the sweet spot for 1440p, and that using a 25 inch should be for 1080p and it is a waste to use it for 1440p. I know some of the sites I googled people had 23 or 24 inch monitors for 1080p and in that case I suppose the upgrade to a 25inch 1440p wouldnt really be worth the expense, hence a 27inch would be better, but with my meagre 21.5 inches – 25 will be very nice indeed. Someone also mentioned it is difficult to see/view windows text etc on a 1440p 25 inch?

      Can anyone advise me? Thanks

Quite frankly it depends on the resolution of the screen and your field of vision. (someone with mild tunnel vision may well need advice from an optician.) That said the screen on my Asus 27 inch PB279Q  is just arms length away, and I find its 4K 3840 x 2160 picture amazing. (I use it for general purpose, programming, games, photography and running two+ vms simultaneously).

I recently saw my friend’s 34″ ultrawide screen and it was noticeably not as high as my normal 28″ widescreen.

I suspect the 1440 on his display is similar to 1440 on a normal 25″ so I’d class it as the edge of ok.

          A 1440 25″ ultrawide would be tiny.

P.S. and I didn’t like the curve, thought I would but would prefer not to have one.
