Cardiff and Vale health board are going to be using the Council owned ex Toys R Us shop near the ice rink.

It’s ideal as all of their shops were set up with a frustrating one way system.

Got my text yesterday to book in for my Jab. That was the day after I got my blood test results. Apparently, I am at moderate risk so I am being pushed forward.

AstraZenica have now released ALL the trial data. It is only slightly less effective than they claimed a couple of days ago, but really their Public Affairs Dept should be hanging their heads in shame. A PA Dept needs to present full facts so there are no come-backs. Their job is just to present that data in the best possible light, but instead they keep screwing up up by rushing to publish.

I’ve given up listening to all the crap about vaccines, it was all so predictable – apart from the success of our roll out which was a pleasant surprise. The poorer countries with no vaccine and no hope of any without help must be hanging their heads. You watch Russia and China fill that gap, I know the Chinese were supplying African countries months ago.

When the Chinese first started vaccinating people (and we were weeks away) the chat of FB from my “Farage following” friends was one of disbelief it was any good. Then it was why aren’t they sharing it? (I pointed out they were), but did they think Boris would want us to be included? You can imagine their thoughts on the current EU situation.

The EU have succeeded in raising a BIG question mark against both globalisation and their place as a reliable regional manufacturer of ANY strategically or economically important item. It is not surprising that Belgium is objecting vociferously against the job-preservation antics of Ursula von de Leyen.

Von Der Leyen headed up the body responsible for vaccine procurement and roll-out and now wants to blame everyone except herself. Her CV reads like that of Dildo Harding – screwed up every job she has ever touched but coated with teflon so nothing sticks.

Yes, the EU have behaved in an erratic way since the UK left. Its like they are trying to get at us but instead are cutting off their own noses. I find it to be a really bad taste. I hear Denmark are still out on using Astra Zen, I had my first jab over a week ago and I am a new man and for the first time in over 5 months I can now smell.

I do wonder how long it will be before we start to get riots against masks and social distancing. My self, having had the vaccine and am feeling really good now in just a few days I have been getting militant minded.

Remember, Keith, your jab is only 70% effective, you still chance getting Covid 30% of the time, and you still need your second jab to be even that certain. Only when (roughly) 80% of the population have been vaccinated will the odds be really in your favour.

That said, if you have your second jab and only mix with people who have also been vaccinated then the rationale for social distancing etc falls apart, and really it isn’t required. However we will all need vaccination passports to be certain of that situation.

I think we need a badge we can stick to the tinfoil hats we’re wearing to stop the 5G signals. Or an app. Like Gaydar but for vaccinated people.

It is very funny to see the words: Dildo and Gaydar posted on the forum.

Anyway we got some freedom back and my daughter has sneakily booked a week away on the Jurassic cost under the guise of a business trip.

Just been subjected to a vaccine scam but I can’t figure out why.

I am booked in for my second jab on Thursday but yesterday morning I got a call from an indian woman ( not unusual) who said my appointment had been canceled and I would have to attend on Sunday at 7.10 instead. The woman sounded in a great hurry to get off the phone and the call was from a mobile but I thought no more of it till the afternoon when I got a text from the vaccine centre telling me that any call I may have got was a scam and I should attend my appointment as originally booked.

Now what could the point of that be ?

Have you tried Googling the mobile number that she used?? I do that on suspect calls that I get on the landline ( double checking the Call Blocker that we use ) – it sounds like the list from the vaccine centre had been hacked, and they are aware of it, but, as you say, to what purpose??

The paranoid bit of my personality suspects a possible attempt to set up a robbery.

Other than that I have no idea why they’d bother.

I have the Samsung Smart call app active on my phone and it attempts to identify any numbers that are not in my contact list, its usually pretty good but it failed to find a match with this number, Google is a blank too.

So their I am giving the car a spring clean and thinking I’m glad I don’t do this for a living when a brand new Tesla pulled up and out got 4 marines. My next door neighbors are as old as the hills. I though, Hmm they must be going to the funeral?

Later on I saw my neighbor and he told me they came to give us the Jab. He said at our age I’m glad we did not have to stand to attention.

3 times called by “The National Crime Agency” yesterday and today to wife’s mobile, today to the landline. Blocked them of course, but SWMBO lost her cool and told them what she thought. Landline was taken by me and I put them on Hold for 5 minutes, then politely asked if I had wasted enough of their scamming time, or would they like a longer wait? They hung up.

This generation of scammers has no stamina….

Cos my mobile is connected to my ltd company I get all the calls. True caller filters most out but HMRC scammers always seem to get through.

I hope they are scammers lol.

Make hay while the sun shines! It looks as though the need for periodic vaccination, social distancing measures is not going to go away for a bit.:(

The Lancet reports that a ‘breakthrough’ variant of the Delta strain has been identified in Vietnam. Breakthrough is defined as a virus variant that slips past the defences put up by vaccines, and in this case was identified in people who had received two jabs of Oxford AstraZeneca a couple of months before infection.

The good news is that all the infected people recovered from infection. It also appears that those infected did not respond as well to their jabs as other hospital staff who did not catch the variant. Maybe this ‘breakthrough’  is just the typical less than perfect protection that the Oxford jab confers. We can but hope!

I suspect that we are going to hear a lot more about this when the main media catches up.

Just as I was singing Nicola Sturgeon’s praise ( a very rare occurrence, believe you me!! ) regarding the upcoming vaccine passport requirements and extra mask regulations Scotland are bringing in, Sajid Javid  ditches the existing plans for England that matched!! It beggars belief!!

Anything that inconveniences the younger generation into becoming as sensible as the older generation about the opening up of larger public interactions, by that I mean public transport, pubs, clubs and sporting venues, can only be good. Unless you’re double vaccinated and masked you can’t come in! Yes, there will always be a minority that will wriggle and find a way round it ( as per false id’s ) but with the majority following sensible rules and taking sensible precautions, we will find ourselves getting closer and closer to the goal of getting Covid under control and the population 100% double vacc’d ( only where it is healthy for them to be vacc’d ).

I’ve been waiting for the booster that has been talked about, but apparently now, we won’t be getting the booster in one arm and the flu jab in the other as was anticipated. Some lingering doubts about interactions before approval is given. Well I for one would sign a waiver. Now people will be doubling their usage of precious NHS resources for a flu jab one day and the Covid booster another time.

I feel a Victor Meldrew moment coming on!!

Its probably the damned lobbyists bribing getting at their tame MPs. Many business ventures that are on the fringes of social acceptance have Conservative MPs as paid Board Members.

I would like to see our political system put onto a professional basis that eliminated such dubious practices. Pay MPs twice as much but make it illegal for them to have any paid external positions. Of course it would also be necessary to prohibit (over)paid speaking tours  (such as those undertaken by a dubious former Prime Minister) for a long time after they step down from Parliament.

I’d also like to see similar rules for Civil Servants who have any senior IRS position that put a moratorium on them joining Tax Management concerns.

I really do not believe that the UK deserves its position as the 11th least corrupt country, the corruption is there, but it is far more subtle than an overt backhander.

Our whole political infrastructure is screwed. It hasn’t really worked since it truly was a two-party system with a third party providing the balance. Many could argue that the Lib-Lab pact showed that as faulty and wouldn’t be completely wrong. But the premise remains. There are currently far too many divergent parties now that continue to hold sway with their permitting or withholding support. Why did we need to pump £Billions into Northern Ireland instead of into a Care System, just to keep a no-confidence vote from succeeding, and that’s just a recent example.

Why do Labour Policies have to be Worker/Benefit oriented instead of what is best for Britain?

Why do Conservative Policies have to be Business/Low Tax oriented instead of what is best for Britain?

They are all so far up their own a*ses that they have forgotten what it is to serve without self interest.

The current Care proposals sound good as sound bites, but the minute you drill down into them it shows them to be full of holes. The cap will only apply to care and not accommodation or food costs?? What is that about??

When will the government recognise that there is a huge amount of money to be made from Caring for our elderly, our less able younger people and similar. Vast amounts of profit is being taken out of the private care system by the owners of the homes, some small individuals as well as some large companies.

A news item earlier this week told of an adult with learning disabilities was ‘earning’ a Care Home £26000 per month!!! That will come from Central Government to Local Government to the care home. That’s what a fully trained nurse earns in a year!!

Fully qualified nurses start on salaries of £24,907 rising to £30,615 on Band 5 of the NHS Agenda for Change pay rates.

I’m not going to cry ‘Nationalise the Care Industry’ for obvious reasons, but how can we allow it to continue as it is??

                                            Another VM moment!!
