Sorry to say, but the old films mostly turn me off. I’ve seen them a lot, varying from early repeats to the Film channels on Sky which my missus is obsessed with!!🤷♀️
March 17, 2020 at 6:09 am #41782It worked a treat but I’d forgotten how much I hate George Formby.
March 17, 2020 at 10:46 am #41784I could not watch it through, but would like to do so. Can I download it, put it on a stick, then watch on TV later?
If so, how.

March 17, 2020 at 12:22 pm #41785“Johnson’s latest comments, made on a conference call with British CEOs, might be the worst thing he’s said yet about the pandemic..”
The comment will definitely come back to haunt BoJo along with thousands of unnecessary victims.
March 17, 2020 at 12:23 pm #41786Les, I just let the film play, tap and hold and it gave me the option to download film night.mp4. That’s on Android.
I’d imagine that Linux would be similar.
March 17, 2020 at 3:17 pm #41787Come on Edp, a bit of black humour is always a good thing.
Of course it WILL upset the snowflakes, but you should be able to see the funny side.
Let’s face it, if this things takes its preferred course, we WILL be desperate for some humour. Any sort.
Planeman, I will try that now. I do have an old Android tablet, but that does nothing that it should do.
Thanks, Les.
March 17, 2020 at 3:46 pm #41788Phase one of ‘Banged-Up-By-Bungling-Boris’ has now been put into effect.
a) A head full of silvery locks has been transformed into a bald pate. I massively over-tipped the hairdresser and told her that I would see her in four months time.
b) Asked GP for four months supply of meds so I am not relying on others
c) Signed up with milkman
d) Stocked up with Lidl’s Malt
e) Set up Skype & Apple Talk for family and friends
f) Been to Garden Centre and got stuff wanted by wife
g) Got necessary stuff for growing own vegs, but not really thought through how to make the stuff grow in 4 weeks!
Hopefully other shopping gaps can be covered by Amazon etc, but I’m sure I have missed something. Maybe others can chip in with their own BUBBB lists.
March 17, 2020 at 3:56 pm #41789I suspect that we are going to see a lot of ‘last gasp’ units like these in ICU wards thanks to Bojo dropping the ball.. Wood string and old football bladders!
March 17, 2020 at 4:08 pm #41790No luck with film download. I could not find a Linux route, and the Android tablet has got the funnies once more. i keep getting the message that Google apps have stopped working. Damn.

March 17, 2020 at 6:08 pm #41793Things are moving very quickly, lots of panicky calls from the small businesses I look after re working from home. One small accountancy practice is in a shared office building and the landlords have said they could be forced to shut down at little notice.
I have moved them all into the cloud, most have their own private clouds via Synology NAS boxes, so it’s not going to be too difficult. Draytek routers help too as they can take any ISP connection known to man (and / or a 4G dongle) and dynamic DNS means we can just lift up the office infrastructure and drop all or parts of it elsewhere. This means no reconfiguration of VPNs and drive mappings and any PC going elsewhere just need a VPN client installing.
I just hope the ISP infrastructure can cope and am thankful I went down the Synology route rather than MS Teams which by all accounts is struggling. Probably too much video conferencing!
March 17, 2020 at 6:22 pm #41794Les, try this link.
You might need to right click and save/ save as.
March 17, 2020 at 6:53 pm #41795I spent many hours today re arranging my living room to gain some space for exercise equipment.
Not finished yet but freed up a lot of space.
It’s just a matter of time before the gym shuts or I stop going until this is all done with.
March 17, 2020 at 8:11 pm #41796Planeman, a possible misunderstanding. I was able to watch it, but as it was late, I would have liked to download it to play back later.
lee has tried a couple of things, and advised, but I seem unable to download it, though of course I can watch it. I don’t think Lee wants to leave it “up” too long, after all, it was to be “For ONE night ONLY” Folks. I think my Android is terminal, can’t even get a Factory Reset as the google message intervenes initially after a few seconds (say 5 secs) but then just comes back as quick as I can “OK” it away. Best if I just give up on it.
Tamara was in contact with one of her Florida (ex Odessa) pals yesterday. She and hubby went to the supermarket wanting (=NEEDING) bog roll. All shelves empty. She tried again today without luck, but noticed a VERY long queue outside a store.
A Gun store. Every Yank and his dog was after a (yet another?) firearm.
At least in UK and IoM, they can’t queue up and buy them, and hopefully will not want to buy one.
Dentist for me tomorrow, Tamara was due to see hygienist next week. However she is on holiday, returns at weekend, and will now need to self isolate for 14 days!
At least it is still at the novel stage. Just wait a month or so.

March 17, 2020 at 8:15 pm #41797Les, I’ll upload it to my Google Drive overnight and give you a link tomorrow.
If I forget give me a nudge.
March 17, 2020 at 8:18 pm #41798I think I might aswell just zip it and link to so it should just download. Extract it on the other end.

March 17, 2020 at 8:24 pm #41799Talked to Oz cousin in Queensland. Their Government have set aside the first two hours of every day for over 70s in the supermarkets. Most drive to the store so it means a fairly effective separation of the young from the old. However she says it hasn’t really changed habits as the old pharts still stop and chat to one another, and well within 2 metres as they cannot otherwise hear. I guess it will mean a selective cull of the deaf gasbags!
March 17, 2020 at 8:25 pm #41801Lee, no bother it’s uploading now.
March 17, 2020 at 8:35 pm #41802Planeman, thanks. I will look tomorrow, but may not get chance before evening. Venturing to “walk and Talk” tomorrow, without the Talk or coffee afterwards, essential shopping, then home. Dentist afternoon, and going to visit a pal who is well isolated from everybody, probably last visit to him for a while.
But “I will be back”.
Lee, thanks for your time. much appreciated.

March 17, 2020 at 8:41 pm #41804Not yet.
I’m saving things for when I’m in almost lock down.

That should work, give it a while to sync though.
