      IIUC you are transferring the innards to save space. Won’t the desktop fit in the knee space, on a small stand perhaps, to raise it off the floor?

      If you are any where near Oxford, I have a couple of complete desktops from which you can choose one.

      Look to be newer than yours. If you want the specs, I’ll sort them out.

        I find the HDD light very helpful.

        If you want to go the whole hog, Glint will allow you to customise up to 200 lights for various activities & it’s free. Says for Windows 2k to 7 but it’s been reported to run on Windows 8 so should be ok for Windows 10.

          As Ed stated earlier & I should have also made plain, DISM must be run with elevated privileges ie as administrator.

          Different sequence with explanation :
          1 DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
          – check whether the online image is repairable
          2 DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth
          – determines whether any corruption has been detected
          3 DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
          – repair (if repairable)

            If the command line is still available, try DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management).

            My notes:

            • To use to fix Windows component store corruption when a SFC /SCANNOW command is unable to repair corrupted system files because the store (source) is corrupted, then run the SFC command again.
            • To use to fix Windows component store corruption when the same Windows Updates continue to appear to be available to install even though they already show successfully installed in update history.

            DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
            dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
            also
            Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
            Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
            also to regain space
            Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

              You could try a free programme like Complete Internet Repair

              Windows 8 & 10 have Windows defender built in which is disabled when another anti virus is installed. It only needs the definitions updating.

                  An Ode to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ – A husband’s point of view.
                  John Summers (not Pam Ayres)

                  The missus bought a Paperback
                  down Shepton, Saturday,
                  I had a look in her bag;
                  …T’was “Fifty Shades of Grey”.

                  Well I just left her to it,
                  …At ten I went to bed.
                  An hour later she appeared;
                  The sight filled me with dread…

                  In her left hand she held a rope;
                  And in her right a whip!
                  She threw them down on the floor,
                  And then began to strip.

                  Well fifty years or so ago;
                  I might have had a peek;
                  But Mabel hasn’t weathered well;
                  She’s eighty four next week.

                  Watching Mabel bump and grind;
                  Could not have been much grimmer.
                  Things then went from bad to worse;
                  She toppled off her Zimmer!

                  She struggled up upon her feet;
                  A couple minutes later;
                  She put her teeth back in and said…
                  I must dominate her!!

                  Now if you knew our Mabel,
                  You’d see just why I spluttered,
                  I’d spent two months in traction
                  For the last complaint I’d muttered.

                  She stood there nude, naked like;
                  Bent forward just a bit ….
                  I thought oh well, what the hell,
                  and stood on her left tit!

                  Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
                  My god what had I done!?
                  She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
                  “Step on the other one!”

                  Well readers, I can’t tell no more;
                  About what occurred that day.
                  Suffice to say my jet black hair,
                  Turned fifty shades of Grey.

                    There’s a book just published (who’s name I can’t remember) about Churchill’s secret army nicknamed scallywags. They were the equivalent of the resistance on home soil who’s job it was to frustrate & prevent, if possible, enemy movements if we were invaded.

                      I had a wall mounted press for making paper bricks but it was nearly a 3 month, full time job making enough to last the winter. In addition they don’t give out the same amount of heat as wood.

                          Wow! I’m way behind the times on prices.

                          £250+ for an Intel i5. I paid £11 for the second hand Intel i3 in this desktop.

                          Thanks for the info. 🙂

                            Or this chap, who moves large blocks with ease.

                            “One man proves massive stones and weights can be moved without machinery by building his own Stone Henge moving huge blocks using timber and stones. He moves the huge loads by himself demonstrating how the Pyramids and places such as Stone Henge could have been built.”

                                          Minitool Partition Wizard Free is free but it’s a partition manager not a partition recovery programme.

                                          The free version of Easeus Partition Recovery Wizard states
                                          “Partition recovery. Recover deleted, lost partition (the partition will be recoverd with original data).

                                          I agree with Ed P, always work on a copy so that you have something to fall back on, never the original.
