Yes I moved the buttons to the left, just need to restrict them to the forums now and remove them from the desktop although the later is not so important.

I wouldn’t bother getting rid of them. They’re not exactly in the way, and they’re a handy shortcut.

Just to check with the coins, I gave you two likes, mainly to see how they work, and your points went up as expected, but my points went up too. Is that supposed to happen? Yours went up by 10, and mine went up by 2 (so 5 & 1 per like).

I’m liking the new design too. As JayCeeDee says, it looks different but familiar ?

Sorry, I’ve only just seen your last message here. The bits that are working here are looking good ?

I remember watching “Downfall” before I got shut of mine and it was like being in the bunker with Adolf!

First time I heard surround sound in a house was when I was living and working in Cardiff. I shared a house with the DJ and some other staff from the nightclub we worked in. The DJ set up his surround sound in the living room as a treat for us after a particularly busy week, and I walked in half way through one of the Fast and Furious films, still half asleep. I heard a car come speeding up behind me and jumped out of the way – in the middle of the living room ??

I’m having trouble getting to the forum at the moment, it’s been going on for at least a few hours, but I got distracted when I first tried to log in and can’t remember what time that was.

I’m currently posting ok from Edge, but having trouble with Chrome and Firefox on the desktop. Chrome on Android seems to be ok, but I haven’t tried posting yet. Everything’s up to date on my end.

Chrome is letting me log in, but keeps taking me back to the main site page https://forumite.co.uk/ no matter what I try to do. Firefox gives me a Secure Connection Failed error on https://forumite.co.uk/ and https://forumite.co.uk/forums as seen in the screenshot below

EDIT: As I’ve been typing, Chrome seems to have fixed itself.

EDIT 2: Not quite. The top banner is covering some of the text, and the names and icons are missing from the recently posted list

I would not be sure about sunglasses for evening and night use, I have not yet tried any such glasses during the day and while the low sun is trying, the improvement in performance is stunning.

A friend of mine recommended yellow glasses rather than ordinary sunglasses after I complained about glare from headlights, low sun in the evening, etc. I tried a cheap £5 pair, and they did make a difference. They were better when the light got low too (obviously the glass isn’t as dark). I couldn’t get on with the yellow tint for everyday use, but they’re definitely worth a try.

Hi Bob, hope you’re both doing ok.

The big worry with blood in the urine is a kidney or bladder problem, but don’t forget,  (and I mean this with the greatest respect, honest ? ), as you get older, your internal plumbing gets a bit weaker, so it’s likely that your coughing has put some extra pressure on the muscles, and like Richard says, strained something, causing a bleed. They usually sort themselves out, but the doctors will make sure that it’s all ok.

                    Good luck

You’ve done exactly what you’re supposed to. If you hadn’t contacted Amazon, what would have happened to you and the parcel you wanted to return? Either you or the seller would have had to deal with it because this guy either wouldn’t or couldn’t do his job.

There’s a problem on Amazon’s end, and they seem to be looking into it

I’ll have to check my car vents are in a decent place, my dash is not a traditional shape.

Have a look at the vent for clearing the windscreen. They’re usually pretty close to the glass, and the passenger side de-misting a bit slower shouldn’t cause problems.

EDIT: Just had another look on Amazon and saw this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/KevenAnna-Sminiker-Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller/dp/B01DJ5LDBM/ For the price, I’m going to give it a go. Both my phones have the power button just under where the clip will be, but as they’re fairly close to the centre of the phone, there’s not much I can do about that.

Sorry, I meant to report back on this sooner.

It’s a great little controller, especially for the price. The clip is a little stiff when you first connect it to the pad, and the stand could do with being adjustable, but that’s it. The clip doesn’t quite interfere with the power button on either phone, and it’s completely out of the way when you’re gaming. It comes with a short mini USB cable to charge the controller, but it could easily be cable tied and hidden behind the screen if you’ve got a USB OTG connector, letting you use Bluetooth headphones instead.

I tend to hold controllers fairly upright when I’m playing, and thought that this would make the angle of the screen too steep, but the weight of the phone pulls it back a bit, so that the controller sits naturally in my hand. Obviously this might be different for others though.

The only downside I’ve found is that the buttons are labelled the wrong way around for a SNES controller, so A is B etc. Obviously nothing major, but it was really confusing until I realised. PSP games don’t seem to run too well on the Honor 9 either, but I haven’t had a chance to try tweaking them yet, or PPSSPP’s settings.

So, all in all, a great controller for the money

We had a good few inches here (Ooh matron! ? ) so we took Alice out for her first proper snow day. Pretty much mummified her, then plonked her in the snow. It came almost to her knees, and she couldn’t move. She stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what we were supposed to be doing ?

Built a snowman and took about a billion photos, then came in to play in the warm. Packed Alice off to bed, and sat down to watch a film. All is good in the world* ?

Savvy <18s will very quickly start using vpns and delve into the much more dangerous territories of the Dark Web, they will probably set up a thriving business of usb stick containing their more dangerous wares.

They don’t need to. It just took me about ten seconds to open a torrent site with a dedicated porn section. 25 torrents per page, and I clicked through to over 70 pages before I gave up on trying to find the end. This is a ‘normal’ video site that most people use for movies and TV. TPB has 30 items per page, but is loading too slowly for me to find out how many pages it has. There are 30 pages in the initial view.

Neither of these are specialist sites, or needed anything other than a browser to access.

As usual, the government are pissing in the wind and wasting our money.

I’ve made use of Olbas a lot in the past along with steaming, but it did not touch my issue. There is no very polite way to say this but the issue is nasal clots which build up during the night and sometimes during the day, they usually have to be cleared out as best I can, but this has not been an issue since the Vaseline therapy. Apparently the low humidity desiccates nasal passages with less good effects.

I bought cheap and cheerful humidifiers from Amazon a few years back. They’re basically just small vases with a clip to hang them on a radiator. As the radiator heats up, so does the water inside the vases, which then circulates as steam / damp air.

When we were using them, they were great. Unfortunately the animals kept trying to play with them, so they were put somewhere safe and never seen again!

That’s a good point. For £1 or two, I’d happily buy quite a few of my old SNES games, especially things like the Mario games, and Mario Kart.

On the plus side though, I’d forgotten that John GBC Lite uses onscreen buttons below the game screen, so they don’t block the view. I just need to dig out some of my old Gameboy games and see if it runs those too 🙂

Found out today the the Wiimote no longer works with Android. Apparently there’s been a change in the Bluetooth stack that stops it from connecting.

That reminds me of a very dangerous way to annoy an inquisitive partner:

Partner: ‘How many sexual partners have you had?’

You: ‘ Let’s see. One, two, three, You, five, six…’ ?
