BTW the new halo game can suffer from stuttering. Word is more ram.

Yep. The xbox has to be the cheapest way to access reasonable experience with FS.

The cost of covid inflated hardware has no value in it.

FS is also one of the few new games that to avoid stuttering need 32GB of system ram and yet for the most part consume less than 8GB.

Its coming though, some of the new games are stutter free on a shocking 32GB of system ram whilst only using modest amounts.

I wont be going anywhere near new hardware until next gen stuff is out and prices are back to reasonable??? End of 2022 then.

I can see why Epic put the demo out on console, off the bat optimization/ish.

For sure we hit the wall on eye candy some years ago and NVIDIA have been ramming ray tracing down our necks.

Its all been a bit suck and see with this ray tracing with no real gains initially but things are moving on and its getting better.

But we are also hitting another wall now and that is spot the difference between: medium, high and ultra setting. with there being no real difference except in shadows and medium delivering something like 1/3rd better performance.

Then Unreal come along and show this. Wow. So there is way more leg room left in rasterization if you can just break out of the industry mind set.

Its a monkey see do world, no doubt those with a bit more expertise like Crystal Dynamics will soon look to adopt the new technics.

I have watched a technobabble video on it, how assets are handles and so on but found my self beginning to yawn.

Just get the next tomb raider game out using this tech and I will be pacing up and down and panting, sweating, drinking lots of water until I get my hands on it… 🙂

Looking forward to this xmas as last years was abysmal.

Xmas falls on the weekend and so peeps in work also get the Monday and Tuesday off and an extra day at the new year and so i get my birthday off.

Got the: advocaat, sherry, mead ( more mead ) ginger wine and the rest of the pop yesterday.

We only cerebrate xmas over the 12 days not this 3 month fiasco with the exterior and interior of the house looking like black pool illuminations and we will be going to church to bring xmas in properly with the christingle.

So when it comes Happy xmas.

Hmph. The tech demo is for consoles.

But more importantly. December 22 is the new Matrix movie. Cannot wait to see Neo and Trin again.

I have 2 options: 1/. Camp out side the Odeon for a guaranteed seat or 2/. Have some snap around weatherpersons and sink plenty of ale and then pop in the coop for a big bag of pop corn and then go to the Odeon.

Its a difficult choice to make but its currently looking favorable for option 2/.

Just need the torries to rebel against plan B covid rules ‘cos I ant wearing no mask. Also I want to get a tub of ice cream and a small wooden spoon so I can flick ice cream across the auditorium in to blokes hair who have pretty girls friends wit them.

Think I have found the problem, a faulty card reader.

AOMEI pointed out the drive was not mounted. Which threw me the bone to check the card reader.

Ive ordered a new one.

I have concluded that the drive is in someway broken.

I have tried removing the write protection and formatting the drive with everything I have @ my disposal. Thanks for the links edp

All drive formatting and unlocking tools say they worked. But the drive remains accessible and locked.

I wonder if I could claim for a new one.

With the cost of PC hardware being so high at the mo alternative tangible products have caught my eye.

One being VR. The oculus. But @£400 I want Oled screens. Spoze I will have to wait for version 3.

But you know oled is spooky real. predator is something else to view on on a oled.

Recently got Starwars squadrons and perfect for VR.

Well the phone has had to go back. We tried every sim we could get our hands on and it would not work( inc all networks).

So, like you say some fantastic bargains out there so I took a leaf out of your book and got a Samsung Galaxy s9.

It arrived as new and set me back £168.

The headphone jack, extra storage and the killer hifi audio was main reason I got it.

Got it off Back Market. Whom I never heard of. I just stumbled across the site. Great service when I thought I was taking a gamble with a pig in a poke.

I see the bench marks are coming in for W11 vs W10 and currently no difference.

And again with a clean install of both OS a performance increase but no difference.

Looks like I’m going to be in the same boat when moving from 7 to 10.

As I understand both OS have support for the latest DX12 capabilities in storage and VR. So?

I see MSI have mow released W11 Bios support@7A38v9C4(Beta version) This is for B450 style board but not universal.

– Windows 11 Support.
– Update to AMD ComboAM4PIV2 1.2.0.3c.

I may update to the new bios this weekend. Although I may notice no difference? We will see!
