Yeah, my system went down with a bios warning about faulty psu on the 3v line. wtf, and PC shutting down to protect hardware.

So I am real pleased with the new psu.

Why its fully modular I don’t know and so had to get the valentine out for easy connecting.

This PSU is actuality smart it has a power on off electronic switch to save on vampire power. Gold rated and a nuts 10 year warranty and @ £10 per 100w, so £60.

Interesting, its basically 550W on the 12 volt rail as branded. I’ve not seen that before. it can be a lot less.

There is a couple of things I’m not to sure of wit this new psu. I now seem to have OS noise? and so when I hover over stuff or look like I’m gonna do some thing the CPU fan spins up completely defying the bios settings.

I wonder if windows can hook into this psu or that the mobo just has a head ache from when previous psu failure.

I think a good bios reset may do the trick.

Any way trying to stay be green.

TBH with you the site of a steering wheel makes me feel sick.

I may well be sitting on my bum for a good part of the day, but man., after a 2000mile week yer brain turn into soup.

Yeah. Bandwidth always seem to help. Esp with GPU’s

Introductions of new ram DDR:2,3,4,5. Less so.

For me the introduction of a new DDR is yawn time.

                        Heat.

                        Yeah OK.

Obvs I’m no engineer. But for the end user like me. I doubt it will ever apply.

But yeah if its the requirement for pci-e 5 then thats fine.

I guess its the first real change since we saw hot swop sata introduced.

For me It will be great to see how applications are made to utilize this new tech and what new feature of use it will bring to the table.

including the screen flashing and the PC appearing to be bricked for many seconds.

                          LOL.

I guess this grey are is well overdue for M$ to take a proper look at and put it to bed.

I really don’t think it follows in this day and age and its summat I recon should be fixed fixed.

Its a bit like the millennium clock you just don’t know whats gonna happen. 🙂

                            Over provisioning.

                            Hmmm.

                            This is crazy, but.

I’m not to sure about this, but as I understand, the latest SSD’s are made windows friendly, as in, EG C drive: A 100GB ssd is actually 125Gb with 25GB hidden and thats to protect windows from doing weird stuff if the drive becomes full.

                            Yes?

                            No?

Frankly I have no time for it. I mean they cannot even make a fast and accurate transport clock.

I was however pleased to see that the British contribution was much better than the usual weak carp and deservedly did NOT get the dreaded zeroes. It was nice to see that France and Germany got the kicking instead.

                                  Agreed.

I shoot RAW, JPEG at the same time. RAW are exported to LRC and the JPEG of the same image acts as the bench mark.

I have today contacted Sony and asked for a firmware up-date to address said issue. No doubt they will have a draw full, but will they send me one.

                                    Nah!

But heads up, look at this. The SPAD sensor. It effectively see’s like we do. no doubt it will be mainstream in 15 years time.

It was great to see the Ukraine win the UVSC last night.

Peeps of Europe pulled together to give them first prize and UK second, Yeah.

TBH that is the fist time I have watched the UVSC finals all the way through. 4 hours. In fact that is the longest I have ever watched TV. Thankfully pints of strong Bloody Marys helped.

That diamond battery looks to be to good to be true.

But it turns out that diamond has other fancy properties. They have also discovered that Diamond can hold quantum data making it the perfect storage for quantum computers.
