I did not know of that series and that also makes it a little out side of my technobable range.

But I got the gist on u-tube.

On your previous post on health one of the contributors made me think of star trek based on there post and it was the episod with the Salt Vampire. An absolute corker.

      See spock take a beating.

              @edp. Good call

I was supposed to see a buddy for a pie and pint on Wednesday. Feeling under the weather that morning I did the test and had to cancel the pie and pint and just look at the glorious weather. What  a barstool.

                Currently on my 3rd infection.

Yesterday I was in a fever mode and proper sweaty and all tucked up in bed, but on a plus side I finally got some attention with cups of hot lemon and honey. Today I am good and am going to walk down to asda and treat myself to a custard slice.

Sadly I was at a funeral on Tuesday and no doubt they have all got it now.

Ive just checked my media center with ( 1TB nvme ) a Athlon 200GE with 4GB of ram w10 pro and its consistently just 19 seconds.

I guess its down to it being an soc.

I eventually found a job after the move to Saltburn.

Silly me I read Saltburn as Saturn.

Based on your post that would have made for the perfect SCI-FI.

@ Dave. No pint in me getting an ATBox as I’m on sim internet 5MB’s on second and zero the next. One to put on the back burner.

Yeah the terrific cox program has inspired me to watch 2 classics being: The Andromeda strain and The forbidden planet.

@ EDP. sounds like you played Cyberpunk 2077 already. 🙂

It’s going to stay like that until Microsoft drops support for Windows 10, at that point a new motherboard bundle is on the cards 😁

Yeah, new build time. I choose my words carefully when dropping a new game build on the misses.

I’m still here, so I must be good at it.

I got the game months ago. I tried to play a few times and gave up with the poor performance and game errors like characters floating by. I decided to give it another go and I can say that whilst its still  V demanding on hardware it is also optimized now.

The game starts off kinda mild and then rushes you into a steep learning cure the like of which I have not seen before. Stick with it and take time to SUS (remember the sus law? LOL !). Like, reload a save point to go over a steep learn area. One thing that made learning difficult for me was that I got so sucked in ( meta verse ) that I forgot I was playing a game. I blame that on my 32″ screen. It fills my vision.

So far, stunning story. When reeves appears in the game you do not want to leave.

BTW I have the game set to medium eye candy, with a couple of extras like detail a little higher and it looks great and plays fine.

                              Good find Dave.

I see the article is knda recent and when you consider how old the photo is then obvs its often discussed.

I don’t have the album, but I never forgot the picture when I saw the album (vinyl) in Smith many years ago whilst music shopping.

Yep, looks like the switch for me will be on account of a new build and new optimized games for the O/S

It does look like W11 is getting there. I figure I will make that change sometime in the new year.

Obvs, no reason to switch for maybe up 9/10 months.

Yeah, I have made a disc for that but when I will get to use it?

But hey its on the back burner.

I recently discovered that W10’s backward compat’ has moved on some and is  V/G indeed.

                                      Yeah, some bargains for sure.

But I will stick with free malwarebytes.

I does seem a lot of sites, esp download sites like major geeks have cleaned up there act over the years.

But then I have not been on there for years anyway. Once bitten.

Tbh with my worn-out reflexes, it does not make a lot of difference if I forget and leave it in Econ mode!

                                          I hear ya. Same really.

I hear M$ wanna do away with the HDD, like by the end of 2023? For the OS that is.

So now SSD speeds are getting faster than a Satrun 5 rocket and M$ moving away from spinners then speed wise it looks like the SSD will be the next performance leveler.
