You are dead right. Even though I have figured out to set mine up correctly on the odd occasion in games when moving from game video back to game you get the nasty buzz thing you raised earlier. But so far it has only happen on Metro E E Edition.

So far its the only time I have come across this error.

OK, I got it to work. The big winning trick was just to reset the bios with the new hardware in place.

Then slowly enable my preference bios settings.

All seems to be above board.

I may have just ran into compatibly problems. It seems Riser Cables are not hot swoppabel due to hardware and bios types and settings. I found this eye opening video on u tube.

Thanks for the link EDP. Spot on.

I received the PCI-E x1 ribbon expansion slot and it did not work. Discovering this was a proper run around.

It gave my PC a true head ache causing apps to launch left right and center like a dropper virus on steroids and the hardware I used in the ribbon slot was unrecoverable by windows and in a mobo slot it worked just fine. Thank fully no damage caused to my hardware.

I just got the card from e-bay UK, made an offer of 250 with some BS logic plea and the guy went for it.

He is also forwarding his receipt minus his details and apparently its a few months old.

Talking about fraught with potential issues. Have you ever tried to sell on GumTree to escape e-bay charges.

GumTree is full of drunk wanna be fraudsters.

So, if you did not know, because of the bit coin crash the wold is now awash with GPU’s.

The price of GPU’s is almost in free fall to and below the mrrp. For new this is especially true of the high end cards, but still way to expensive in every way and the second hand market is also moving fast down.

So I have made my move, I consider the 2nd hand market to be the most box clever move in attaining value in buying and reselling.

The card I have gone for is the Radeon RX6600XT. It ticks all the boxes for 1080p rasterization game play as it can run Red Dead Redemption and Cyberpunk277 @ constant 60fps set at highest recommended setting. Its basically x2 as powerful as my GTX1070 whilst drawing the same amount of power 160watts.

One short comings of the card in keeping power draw low is its only PCI-E 3 & 4×8 and so in my case pci-e 3 I may see a small performance hit.

Any way just have to sell my GTX1070 now and game on.

For sure I will be looking for a 5G set up next year. I was looking at the price for 2nd hand 5G routers on e bay and wow.

It would have been great if you had pulled in a 100GB game download when you had speeds of 800+Mbps. May bees your drives would not have written at that those speeds and found your self in a bottle neck.

I pasted 10 GB of files from my pen drive to my media center and if I remember it ran at 100+mbps.

I was well pleased as it took about 5 mins and not half an hour as I would of expected.

Hmm, Ive just signed up for a fiber deal £19month for 1year. The 4G thing was a nightmare.

Got me a router this time around to compliment what ever they send me, Its: A7 AC1750 apparently this one works with Alexa.

@wasbit. Grand, so you made basic server or Naz. I never would have thought of that.

So where I was testing the water is because later this year PCI-E 4 will basically become the new norm and in effect everyone who moves onto the new kit will have a HEDT pc (well, in some ways). Which means that regular punters like me will be able to access kit like an Asus hyper m.2 x16 nvme pci-e 4 / 4 x4 expansion card and most juicy: Raid.

Anyway. 🙂
