This ray tracing has really caught my attention.

On some demos, significantly more detail is unlocked, obviously because rasterisation is just an approximation.

But I never thought the impact would be so big as today’s games r amazing.

Also I have a strong suspicion that the next Tomb raider game will support real Nvidia ray tracing.

For me W10 is as solid as a rock.

Remember the days of xp pre service packs, dial up and modems. Droppers where just queuing up to infect yer machine back then.

Good job AMD. Plenty of optimizations and in addition some mobo manufactures have gone balls all all out on DDR4 support.

For me I am waiting for  the 4 and 6 core 8 and 12 thread variants.

My aging i7 ivy bridge is really showing its age now. But it will stand until yr2020. ?

They bin on about this for years. All the way back to my 6800 ultra.

My current card 1070 pumps out wild amounts of flops.

I think we got some way to go before game engines can really turn on the charm with ray tracing because we have the compute power.

Although I feel this will come sooner than later. 20-t flops zone.

Its funny, my media center has a 610 throw away card in but it matches my old king of the hill 6800 ultra.

I guess my 1070 will be throw away compute power in 10 years time. Unfortunately I will be 63.

Today I ran prime95 max heat to find that the temperature remained the same on the cpu with the side of the case ON and OFF indicating terrific air flow.

I only ever purchased one thing from maplins and that was a apple lappey spanner set ( recommended by store nerd ). it did not work, had to take it back never been in since. Got a set online cheap and perfect.

Well there was a time when I was anti download for games, must have a physical copy.

Last night on the origin sale I got me the whole of the crysis series for under 7£.

Money for old rope? well sort of but they run properly and do not crash.

So I guess if W10 is the last incarnation of windows then theoretically software should be compatible forever.

I have just started playing prey 2017.

Its a cross between: Deus ex, Alien isolation and bio shock. Considering its a cryengine game it looks kinda crummy, more like ID tech 5. still its all real art work so musunt grumble. A well designed game and so its a struggle. 3D thinking is the way forward. Like: freeze enemy, throw gas canister, shoot gas canister and you have only used 1 bullet.

Just finished farCry Primal, Just got to say, one of the best games I have ever played, this cave man game really gets its claws into you.

I have watch dogs one which is on my list to play, But some how I keep forgetting to play it and it must be patched up and optimized nice by now. 🙂

Actually slipstream was on the ball with under the hood stuff from time to time.

Things have defo moved on from then, so under the hood cleaner stuff is now de-funked for the most part. 🙂

So here we Was and in 2017 and I manged to turn a W764 PC into a bonafede hifi. When I thought I had done it before.

You know when you have done it balls to bone and as you would expect with the flexibility of a PC you can tune it, and No. I’m not talking about a GFX equalizer. No. I’m talking about the ASIO driver adjustments.

Screw buying stuff off the shelf.

As I recall slipstream was also like me a frustrated PC audio/hifi enthusiast.

But for the most part its down to the capabilities of the DAC and what equipment is available off the shelf and the depth of your pocket. 🙂

Yeah, prices are a little crazy on those items at the mo.

No Doubt the new rizen will support faster ram if you can afford it. I’m on 16Gb at the mo.

Its becoming more important to have 8Gb of frame buffer support for your GPU. X2 games that max out 8GB at 1080p ultra setting are RE7  and ROTTRaider Dx12.

Erm, Playing  Farcry primal at the mo. A little slow to start but brill game its defo got its claws into me. Oh that sucks about 5.5GB GDDR. 🙂

Its got my new drive by the short and curlies and keeping it all under control. 🙂

@ PM, yes I know what you mean about time to leave the house my previous LG drive was also a sonic weapon of mass destruction. Go out come back windows blown out. 🙂
