Well I climbed up The Ben or Ben Nevis. I was the only bloke on the moutain in Loakes levis and a sweater and wooly hat.

Thicko old man C. Any way, took me 7 hours up and down and I had a lie down close to the summit to catch my breath. 10% less oxygeh up there. The upper 3rd of the moutian was covered in cloud. Temps dropped big. At the top my thumbs and face was anaesthetized from the cold and I was aware that my core temp was struggeling. Needless to say after a couple of photos I was on my way down. When I got off the moutain I had a bit of a laughing fit. Glad that was over. The very next day it was the Ben run. yes 250 runners up to the top and down in 2 ish hours. Which makes my saga above hard to beleive. But yeah some folk are fit and young.

So, looking at the chatter on the net, peeps say disabling SMT can lead to higher FPS in games. So tried it and TR lost 2 FPS and Crysis lost 1, but CB20 nose diveved. Seeing is beleving, performance dropped by  about half.

Reading between the line????? It looks like the infinity fabrick is not only tied to the ram speed support but also the CPU GHz. Hence the 3800X supporting same as ram 1900×2?

Seems also that if you are smart enough, you can for the 3600 CPU? Run ram underclocked at 15oox2 but make the ram timings real tight and you can get 1900×2 performance on most apps. I have tried but given up. I can only take so much rhubarb. 🙂

Also seems bios support is somewhat wanting with the new Ryzen3 CPU’s. Dynamic clock for me only works with SMT disabled. When set to default my system runs @4.1 on all cores and will not hit 4.2Ghz. Seems to be a common problem at the mo. But i’m not complaining. 🙂

Hmm, winfo and CPU.Z need to catch up.

Even so, I have found that my CPU will only clock @4.2 and above if I force it.

Using Ryzen master.

And that probaley not the end of as well.

Hmm. I have not seen the 3600 Boost above 4.1GHz Maybe I have a dud. Something to look at another day.

I been looking at AMD’s StoreMI Free app for speeding up yer whole system.

I just noticed that it supports a max SSD size of 256GB and I just put in a 512. Hey ho. More work for me splitting the drive in half then.

I see AMD ( Today) has told all mobo manufatureres to pull Bios up dates that enable PCI-E 4.

I new this was coming and so I pulled in some bios last night for kit I may buy in the future.

But then again who needs PCI-E 4 anyway. 🙂

Well not me, but AMD need it on there 5 series MOBO’s exclusive so they can charge an extra GWOP.
