I like it better than the old one. Looks good on my gunmetal bookmark bar.
where is my mobile phone, time to install the app and see if I can buy that headphone stand I want 🙂
I been doing this for years. I was a sceptic when it came to filtered water and mineral water. But it change when one day I made two cups of tea – one with tap water boiled in the old kettle and one with Brita filtered tap water in the new kettle. They looked totally different visually and the filtered one tasted so much better. And I love my strong black tea so I have been buying Brita filters ever since. And I once lived in a house with a system like yours installed, a very good and convenient system. Later it went from drinking filtered tap water to drinking mineral water. Only I prefer Buxton. I find it tastes slightly better than others. I always buy a six-pack, they are usually £2.50 to £3. That’s £0.50 or less per 1.5L bottle. And now I can’t see myself going back to unfiltered tap water ever again.
As to us feeling great I am afraid there is a lot more to it than just drinking healthy water. There are also a plethora of additives in our foods, pollutants in the air the worst ones being air fresheners and deodorants and all fragrances in things like washing up liquid or washing powder or perfumes as they are produced from petroleum. But you made a start and I think we always feel better when we make a start on something good. Also, I find that going for a nice short jog and a bit of light exercise on a daily basis does wonders to feeling better.
I think your the first person I’ve heard of that actually prefers 8 to 10. 10 I find had the good bits of 10 with the bits of 7 back I know. They problem should of gone, 7, 10, 10s then 8 home (s) . A more gradual evolution. In stead of going all out revolution.
That’s how I feel. I feel like the 8 was a step forward and then the 10 went back to the old school windows. Maybe people just weren’t ready for the 8 🙂
Haven’t yet had any bother regarding moving to 10 but I think that was any easy problem to eliminate.
Feels good to be back with 8.1 and it’s simple and clean UI. The only thing bugging me is the activation I did with that KMSpico. I’m thinking of reinstalling again and just activating using the eBay key. Don’t really need the WMC anyway.
I did get my W8.1 activated – the third key they sent me worked.
I then decided to look into getting the Media Center just in case I want to watch a DVD one day. I turns out if you have a key for it you go to “Add Features to W8” and enter the key and the WMC gets installed. I couldn’t find any keys for sale on eBay but loads of them popped up on various forums as MS was giving them away for free a few years back. So I tried one and it worked. Only a few hours later I get a pop up saying the key is no good and asking for a new one. It didn’t lock my PC but maybe it would have eventually. So I google and it turns out there is a program called KMSpico and it activates windows for free. I google that and it appears to be a real deal. So I gave it a try and it worked.
But this whole experience left me feeling befuddled. The key off eBay… fair enough, that working I can understand. Random key off some forum that loads of people have used activates my WMC… that I could not understand. But fair enough, it did eventually get back to me and said I can’t use it. Not sure what I could have done to go back to not having the WMC. But a program that activated Windows for free… that is just bizarre. I hope that doesn’t come back and bite me in the ass eventually…
If that eBay dude doesn’t come through then I’ll have no choice but to just do a win 10 install. But I’d rather be on win 8.1 until they pull the plug.
It there is then it is likely to be on ebay, so you are always taking a chance as to whether it will work and if so for how long. As much as I pull my hair out with MS as they manage to remove useful features and introduce pointless ones each update cycle, but I really do think it is best to just lump W10 and get on with it, it is the only one that will be supported so assuming you will stay with Windows long term then it is W10 or nothing in a few years. Out of interest, are there specific things about W10 that you don’t like (I have loads!) because there may be work-arounds. Really though, unless there is a real pressing reason i would try and suffer 10.
Win 10 is OK, but Win 8.1 to me is the best Windows MS ever made. I am not talking about the inner working or things like that, I know nothing of it, I am talking about the day to day use. I like the Metro Start menu, I like how you can access almost anything by going with your mouse into corners, it makes it easy to do things fast even when almost asleep in my chair. And it just overall 8.1 seems a bit more snappier than 10. So I am kind of annoyed to be stuck with something that doesn’t give me as much joy as what I had before. Not sure why I decided to go with 8.1 Pro, I guess I want to keep the key I upgraded from 8 to 10 as 10 for the future. Not even sure if I can go back to 8.1 with it.
I always had it as a portable storage on my Moto G. Until the Moto G got corrupted and died. The SD card is still OK. Kind of the opposite of what you had. But you got the better end of the stick.
Thanks for the replies. AW lost me on the second sentence in that post. The rest was just like… what?..
Still, judging from those end sentences it sounds like I probably bought headphones with too many OHMs.
I do like the headphones tho so will look into the amplifiers and if they are not too expensive and can work with my setup then I will get one.
Maybe it’s just my imagination. If I turn the volume on the studio monitors way up I can physically feel the vibrations from the headphone drivers hitting my ears. But it’s just that for some reason I feel like there is something missing from the sound but I don’t know what. Maybe I feel that way because my previous headphones had smaller drivers and more high frequencies and now the lower frequencies of my new headphones makes it look like something missing. I don’t know. I think I thought that lack of Ohms is struggling to generate those high frequencies. Probably just paranoia and ignorance on the subject talking here 🙂
At a quick glance they look good, how did you get the 12 month up front option?
It seems since I bought my Xperia I can not have the same bookmar on my PC and on my phone. On my PC I select Bookmark Bar to save the bookmark and then bookmark the same page on my phone only selecting Mobile Bookmarks. Go back to the PC and the bookmark is gone… That’s on Chrome. Super annoying.
Solved the mystery of bookmarks! I hope.
I think it’s something to do with Google backing up bookmarks. And, since I use the same google account for my chrome on the pc and on my android, a change made on my phone can reflect on my pc.
Just thought I would mention it in case someone else comes across the same problem.
It does look like a nice phone. Camera quality looks miles better than my old phone. My only complain so far is how slippery it is in my hand. Will have to order some sort of cover to give it some grip. Not a fan of covers but I have a feeling it will be very prone to slipping out of my hand and if it breaks I will still be paying for it for two years.
Went out this morning and after a quick browse through a Carphone Warehouse store and without any research I bought a Sony Xperia XA1 with a 2 year contract with O2 for £21pm. No even going to look online to find out how bad a decision it was. If the guy at the store didn’t lie I should be getting a considerably better reception for 4G than my previous provider. Good enough for me. And I got a VR set for free.
Maybe we are thinking of different phones. After a bit of digging through my drawers I found its original box and receipt. I bought it July 2014. Almost 3 years ago. Which in a way is a good thing because last night I cannibalised that phone to see what they look like inside. Imagine finding out it is still under warranty 😀
Need to buy a new one today.
I’ve had it for a while, don’t even remember where I bought it from. How long is a phone’s warranty? Never had one break before.
it will be prone to understeer, so you can’t trail break, like you can in a rear wheal drive car.
I don’t think that car understeers or oversteers because of the torque vectoring, unless it’s selected otherwise in the settings. Torque vectoring will keep the car balanced and push you around a corner unless you go too fast for it to do anything. Which is what it looks like to me in that video. The car was already skidding in the “precorner” which to me indicates that he was going way too fast. Maybe that torque vectoring made him overconfident or maybe he just had a lapse of concentration and made a mistake.
Does it have custom recovery?
After some digging about I found out that some newer ROMs don’t flash with the Clockworkmod (which was what I had) They require a newer version TWRP. So flashed the TWRP and the flashing of LineageOS went very smoothly. I have to say I am very impressed. A very polished and pleasant to use OS.
