I am not sure why you are concerned about a possible interaction between an ISA and a SIP.

I have a few thousand pounds worth of shares given by the company. I was wondering if maybe there was a rule where I can have only one shares account or something like that.

Can’t see any downfalls. It seems everything in a stocks and shares ISA is exempt from tax. The only thing I can’t find an answer to is whether my SIP shares will have any effect on my stocks and shares ISA.

And also I just found out about the Lifetime ISA. This is getting interesting 🙂

According to this https://www.gov.uk/tax-sell-shares I don’t have to pay tax on a profit made selling shares held in ISA.

I’m not going to be making any serious investments while I’m paying off my mortgage but from what I can see online it’s better to open an ISA account so I don’t have to deal with the tax man.

What’s the first track? I don’t remember hearing it. But I like it.

When I buy white t-shirts (for work mostly as an underlayer) I look for durable looking cotton fabric and most last me years. But once (maybe 3 years ago) I bought a few FofL t-shirts because they were cheap and I’d seen the brand name many times. They were some of the worst t-shirts I’ve had. They shrunk and deformed after the first wash. Just used them for rags.

This one is for sale from Pontyclun (by coincidence ? next door to the Mint) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PADDINGTON-BEAR-IN-PADDINGTON-STATION-2018-50P-RARE-ACCIDENTAL-RELEASE/132660613632?

The description in your link looks very similar to the one with £16k of bids. I’m 99.99% sure it’s the same person.

What I can’t understand is why so much bidding on that one coin when the seller has 0 feedback and there are 2 or 3 other such coins being auctioned.

I prefer blues, but other colours are fine too as long as it’s just different shades of the same colour. A small injection of a different colour is okay as long as it blends with the main theme colour. When there is a mix of colours in a website… I find it distracting and annoying.

                          I liked: 05, 53, 55, 58, 71, 72, 80, 85

                          Those were okay: 07, 14, 30, 31, 34, 42, 43, 44, 46, 56, 63

It seems I prefer darker colours.

I just tried to create an auction style listing but wasn’t able to find an option to block new or no-feedback users. I guess it’s been removed. But I did google your problem and it appears if a ebay member gets banned all his bids are cancelled. I think new people register and then start bidding like crazy and ebay unregisteres them. I think when ebay says “not registered” it actually means “no longer registered”.

It used to be possible to tick a box or two at the bottom of the listing you are creating to block people with less than a certain number of feedback or with bad feedback from bidding on your item. I haven’t listed an action type sale in ages so don’t know if it’s still there.

Not sure Abramovich would want a citizenship. I heard of a story of two Russian bankers who escaped to GB with loads of stolen money. The UK refused to send them back to RU and changed the law to “if you can’t prove you got your money legally government takes it” and of course there money were taken from them. I doubt Abramovich could prove he’s got his money legally.

That’s a nice clarification Tippon. I was pretty sure that guy would be a trouble maker. But that video I watched missed out some of the facts and made it look like there were serious human rights violations which would be serious no matter who that person was. But of course that was not the truth.

I never heard of him and I ignore people like him because a few times I did try to watch those YT “freedom and justice and what not” fighters I realised all they (or most) are doing is generating hate in the name of free speech in various clever ways. I was just curious if the press was reporting on the protests or it has been decided that people don’t need to know.

I was behind a 4 year old Golf GTD today and he nailed the throttle and I almost choked. Huge black cloud of particulates. I reckon the DPF was faulty or removed.

The clouds of black soot are a result of the EGR. The EGR was introduced to reduce NOX levels by making the combustion temperature lower and reduce the levels of the cancer causing (allegedly) NOX. As a result the diesel isn’t being burned properly hence the clouds of black soot out the exhaust pipe. So the DPF was introduced to combat that by catching the soot. To burn off soot in the DPF you have the DPF regeneration where an increased amount of diesel is used to achieve high temperatures required to burn off soot and loads of NOX is created (but we pretend not to know that so that this convoluted system can be justified). Delete the EGR and the DPF, have your ECU remapped to make your engine run as efficiently as possible and the soot is gone. And no MOT failures.
