Like yourself I hadn’t heard of them until I was looking into buying some FB shares. And I still don’t have it on my FB. I haven’t actually looked if there is anymore news regarding this. TBH I don’t really care.
Maybe give it a soak in Coca Cola…
If it’s carpet you’re after make sure you go to a small local shop if there is one. I saved a few hundred pounds by not going with the Carpetright.
4.15×3.24=13.446m2
simples 😉
Toilet Duck type of toilet cleaner. Covered the whole wall(s) with it, brushed it in a bit with a wet brush and left it for a few hours. Then gave it a good scrub while spraying it with the shower. Came out nice and clean. Unfortunately, the next time I did it I used a different toilet cleaner and it stained the grout a light turquoise colour. So, risky. Have to make sure the cleaner you going to use won’t stain. They both were green. No idea why one of them stained.
What if you remove the entire door panel, make a replacement panel out of multiple layers of plywood to get the right thickness, paint it white, fit it the same way but use Instant Gasket instead of the seals? Something like this:
By creating the route in My Maps I can get it all done even though it’s a pig of a job. Even one mistake means starting again from the beginning as I couldn’t find any way to make a correction. This is “drawing” the route from start to finish. Another way is to created the start and finish points first and then drag points to where required. This way corrections can be made but it was also very buggy. But either way the route created in My Maps can only be followed, it won’t work as a satnav.
Another option is to use “Directions” where only 10 points can be created. But break up the route into as many sections as required to cover the entire route and just number them. That way it can be used as a satnav one section at a time.
Ed P thx for that, I think My Maps is what will allow me to get it done. I did it 4 times now but f@cked each one. The whole thing is very unsophisticated. But I will get it right eventually.
The only way to draw a route is to go to “Directions” and specify a starting and a finishing point. In my case it’s the same point so I specify two point a short distance apart. I draws the shortest route but if I hover the cursor above the blue line (the route) a grey circle appears on the blue line. I can then left click and drag that circle to where I want my route to go. That way it keeps redrawing it. After some dragging I managed to get the route drawn but there is no way of saving it that I can find. There is an option of sending it to my phone or share it on media or even copy the link. But whichever way I chose the end result is the shortest distance from start to finish. The route is there, I can see it drawn (with some funny glitching artefacts) but it can’t be used for navigation.
Thanks for the replies guys.
I was very impressed with the Airbnb on my last holiday to Iceland. We made the selections and bookings on their website, we received emails with instructions regarding checking in and out and that was it. Every house we stay at was very nice, clean, modern and big (one was so posh it even had a piano in the sitting room). We felt at home in every one of them. We didn’t see any of the hosts. Keys were always in a lock up next to the entrance. We just let ourselves in. And it was dirt cheap despite all being 3 bedroom. It was the only cheap thing about the Iceland. But this is Britain of course. So I expect lower standards.
I’ve never stayed at a BnB. Do they have to be booked in advance?
Try googling “cat flap blanking plate?cover” maybe it’ll come up with something useful.
At work we have an old copy of the porsche PET system you can either put in a part number directly and it will tell you what models it was used on and if the part has a superseded part number or you could pick which model then go through all the sub menus and pictures till you find the part you need then it will tell you the part number and what vehicles it was used on. I’m sure BMW would have a similar system. I’m sure there would be a version of said software on the internet or you could ask a friendly BMW specialist nicely if they could help. Its worth a try.
There is a website like that, it’s called Realoem. But they don’t list the specs of the special tools needed for those parts. I was making a list of cars for each tool. Didn’t get it all done but good enough for eBay I suppose.
If you want to try a bit of Python the following script MAY help: # code follows, #!/usr/bin/python2.7 # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- #the above line tells the script is uses python 2.7, you will have to look up how to import beautiful soup and urllib2 for your os # the next just sets the fonts used # apologies but I cannot remember from where this was cribbed from BeautifulSoup import BeautifulSoup import urllib2 url = urllib2.urlopen(“https://address of page you want to scrape”) content = url.read() soup = BeautifulSoup(content) print soup.prettify() # code snippet ends
You lost me at “the following scrip” 😛
I spent the entire day searching and cross-referencing. My brain is done…
Dunno what’s that about but I like the idea of fleas. Can we have a cockroaches too? Lets say 10 fleas = 1 cockroach. And 10 cockroaches maybe a rat?
There is but you need to familiarise yourself with Python and beautiful soup, feedparser and maybe pandas. It is not hard as there are plenty of examples on line, but it is not trivial and some web sites object to being ‘scraped’. Start with the beautiful soup site and possibly search on line for ‘scraping’. Someone may have done something similar to your task and put the code on-line for your use. 99% of such code will use Python. e.g. search for (say) web scraping+car data
Thanks Ed P. Tho it looks even more complicated than what I am doing. Especially now that I got into the swing of it. I’ll see how it goes.
My PSU is at the bottom but the air flow was too restricted so I flipped it up side down and it sucks air from inside the case.
I painted my entire flat about 2 years ago, white gloss all skirting boards, window cills, architraves and doors. Still white today. But I no longer have the tin and I can’t remember what paint it was… It’s a small private decorators supplies store that doesn’t even have a website so can’t even check what paints they stock.
On my recent holiday I was using my sister’s phone holder similar to this one. Very easy to use and will be getting one for myself.
P.S. Baby Shark for those who haven’t had the pleasure yet

This is going on my phone as a text alert, people at work are going to be so annoyed 😀
I’ve gone through many headphones over the last two decades and one thing I’ll never buy again is a gaming headset. They ranged from terrible to not so good for the more expensive ones. Most are okay for gaming alone but terrible if you want to listen to some music on YT or watch a movie. I had a couple the cheaper AudioTechnica headphones and they have good sound for the price but wouldn’t recommend them for a long time use – a bit too hard around the ears and the faux leather didn’t last plus I think one side stopped working on one of them. I’m now using Beyerdynamic and they are much more comfortable for my ears, sound is good and nothing’s gone wrong or broke yet.
