Thanks EdP,
I hate dealing with problems like this but since I’m here to stay for a while it has to be done. I’ll see how it goes with the HA person and will mention all those things you said. I’m pretty sure some of the tenants here are from the council as they are somewhat senile despite being middle-aged and I’m sure they’ve been on social support all their lives. And if need be I will go to the council and see if I can get some help from them.
Why did I just think of the song Heaven is a place on Earth?
I’m guessing Venezuela, just like most oil countries, relied on it too much and failed to develop a proper economy.
I remember watching a YT clip of a Trumps speech, he said Russia is not an enemy, he will develop good relations with them, etc. But very shortly after he did a 180 degree turn on it. I guess it’s only so much you can do as a US president and stay alive. I wonder if Trump, having realised this, has intentionally pushed things into “overdrive” to make it easier for the world to see all the evil that goes on behind the scenes.
Hang in there Venezuela, the Americans will soon liberate you. Don’t let Russians get to you, they are only after your… ehh, what are Russians after?
My advice would be go ultra wide if you are buying a new monitor. I went UW when I upgraded and made a massive difference to my eyes. I read some where later that it’s more natural for the eyes to look at a wider picture.
Merry Christmas to all !!!
Just out of curiosity, if they are dodgy and I buy that pair on my credit card and they never arrive would I be able to get my money back?
I buy those shoes for work. I work as a postman and Royal Mail shoes and my feet don’t get along. I’ve been through countless pairs of shoes over the recent years and most last me 3-4 weeks. The Clarks shoes I’m after last me about 6 months. They must be made from some very good quality rubbers. But they have been discontinued. Now and then my size comes up on eBay or Amazon from old stock I guess. Some shops still stock them but the prices are crazy. And this dodgy looking shop has my size in Washed Navy colour for just £19, they look really good and I’d love a pair for my personal use but I doubt they actually sell anything. I’ll wait and see if after a while that shop is going to disappear.
The Fire tables are dirt cheap. But the app unavailability will be a problem. Might have to go with the MediaPad. I’ll sleep on it for a few days.
I see, never paid any attention to tablets. So what’s a good cheap option? Something Android?
A policeman gets called out to a reported shooting. Upon arrival he discovers that an old lady shot dead her husband for stepping on the wet floor and radios it in.
“Have you arrested the old lady”?
“Not yet, the floor’s still wet”.
Maybe he pulled a few more scams. Is he still a registered user?
That is the dark side of ebay. I’ve sold loads of stuff on ebay in the recent months. The best seller were lightly used shoes for £5 to £10 less than what I paid for them new 😀 Sold car bits that before I would have just throw in the bin. Books, records, everything sold. Made hundreds of £££ this Summer selling my junk and to my surprise not a single problem. But I was posting everything unregistered expecting a problem every time and was ready to just make an instant refund and not worry about it. In the process of all this I discovered a very easy way to make £20-50 a week reselling a certain item I buy in sets on ebay. I triple my money and each item is about £20 profit so no sending many packages for minuscule profits 😀 And I post them unregistered ready every time for some one to claim theirs haven’t arrived. But I would not want to be the one selling more expensive items for a smaller profit…
Halifax Clarity (cracking for overseas purchases and cash withdrawal – and you can pre-load it to avoid any interest). Nationwide for every day purchases (mainly as I have their Flex-Plus current account – paid-for but includes travel insurance, breakdown, phone insurance etc) as you get 0.5% back on everything – not a fortune but adds up. You can also pre-load it so it is always in credit.
Didn’t realise Halifax have a good credit card for overseas. Overseas usage was the reason I got the Post Office credit card. And I’ve been with Halifax since 1995 so I guess it’s time to get their credit card too.
On a side note, I don’t get why people use Amazon. Ebay beats or matches them every time. And Ebay is a much nicer website to use.
I doubt it was due to attacks, they would have informed me if so. Most likely it’s what Richard said – sloppy previous work. They been making small improvements, the website looks much better now. Though still a few issues remain, like asking to change my email address every time I log in.
It’s good to see the PO taking passwords more seriously.
I can never understand the point in this. If the log-in gets blocked after a few incorrect attempts surely even a pretty simple password is pretty much impossible to guess?
To be fair, (I hate being fair) they do say 8 ~ 20 characters. Some people have pet phrases that they use to generate a password and make it easier to remember the code, it could be a poem, a bit of a nursery rhyme, or something more personal- ‘I hate Mondays/shopping/putrid_transport’! etc with letters plucked from the words, e.g I2_aohu!. Some people go extreme, hence the maximum length rule. Most sites do require special characters, a number or two and usually a capital letter. There is a lot of personalisation possible. Many sites appear to have the same or very similar rules engines grafted into their offering. I changed my router password and now it thinks the original one they applied is crap being too short, too easy, etc. in which cases why did they choose it in the first place?
This is the second time this year they are forcing me to change my password. I wouldn’t mind so much if I could just leave it as it is, eventually I would remember. But I just can’t keep up anymore.
I’m not sure your answers are correct. The prices are based on demand and supply but I doubt that we as buyers/sellers have a say in it. I haven’t research into it yet but so far it seems that there are what they call “market makers” who decide how much should the price of a share/stock be. Maybe it’s them who decide on the prices of the altcoins too. Sometimes there is a big gap in the price between the closing and the opening. I think if they anticipate a big demand they start with higher price. If they anticipate a sell-off they lower the price for the opening of the market. But I could be wrong.
Still have the Amazon Prime which currently has only one show I watch (Preacher)
If you like Preacher, give Lucifer and American Gods a try. This is my current watchlist
I watched Lucifer twice already. I’ll have to give the American Gods another try. I tried watching the pilot but the vibe just didn’t gel with me.
I’ve given up on it all. Still have the Amazon Prime which currently has only one show I watch (Preacher) and everything else I watch is on YouTube. About cars, stock trading, comedy, sports, ancient mysteries and so on. There is enough there for me to fill my free time.
