Yes, I was.  The missus moaned the internet was slow so I reset the router (virgin) but still playing up.  Netflix kept going low bitrate.  About 9:30pm ish.  Speedtest.net was showing full wack as usual but I’m sure Virgin give their website a higher priority.

I’ve stayed away from comment on this forum so far – I’m too much in favour of Labour and think Corbyn is excellent.  I also dread what will happen to my country if the Conservatives get in again – I will actually think about emigrating if things turn out as I suspect the would under May.  If I can’t steer the ship away from an iceberg because of deaf ears then I’m jumping ship asap and leaving you to it.

I suppose my only comment on the subject here of substance would be to consider voting Labour because in 5 years you will have the chance to vote again but if you vote Conservative I fear significant irreparable damage will have been done to the country.  If you have any doubts then give Corbyn a chance, even if he doesn’t deliver everything he promises the only thing wrong will be a few years of mediocre government.

Just post it up and if anyone complains then take take it down or youtube will.

I have a friend who sells load of copyright stuff on redbubble – not rip-off but old TV logos etc – and occasionally they take stuff down but most of it they don’t care as it is just free advertising for them.

Labour won’t win.  not because they can’t but because people keep saying they won’t (so the floating voters won’t vote for them)

Lib Dems – my personal favourite would do an excellent job and will water down Brexit and change politics and the press for the better.
Unfortunately I can’t see them getting the airtime required to put their party to the front of politics

UKIP will still be quite strong but after the lies, many will defect to the Torys.

The Torys will rule again under the control of Murdoch and rape the whole country on a slim majority saying it is the will of the people.

Afaik the rebels had Sarin gas and the Syrian airforce attempted to destroy their arsnel but a small quanitity was released into the atmosphere.

                  Is that not what happened?

I reckon it won’t be long until the first person not to die is born … unless it has already happened.

I hope that if I live to 120 there should be ways of keeping me going until 150 and hopefully by then there should be ways of living forever.

I know someone who works for Orange.  They had their whole system replaced with Huawei equipment and when they’d finished they all had to leave the building for half a day while MI5 did their thing.

I swapped the hard drives over in two Win10 machines.  They both complained that they were unlicenced but that the systems did have valid keys logged with MS.  The one with a licenced copy of Pro started downloading to update but the one with Home on couldn’t downgrade and wanted re-installing.
All together I’d give MS 9.5/10 for that.

House prices are crazy near me and most properties sell in less than a week.  One house went up for sale and the first viewing was a friend of the estate agent, they only had 1 other viewing in the first 3 weeks but were tied to a 6 week contract with the estate agent.  Eventually they sold shortly after the contract period ended when they displayed an interest in changing estate agent.

Some people are too soft, I’d have taken them to court straight away.

I took a new 10 year mortage out at 3.79% with 60% LTV because of uncertainty in the future after Brexit.  I actually have two mortgages, one for half the loan is a 0.5% tracker for the life of the mortgage and the fixed rate is on the rest.

The bit I couldn’t understand was when I inquired about borrowing more.  I want to build an extension next year but thought I’d have to borrow the money now because I’d be tied into a mortgage deal but, that is not how it works.  I currently have a 60% LTV mortgage and I can borrow the remaining money at the 85% rate.  That just doesn’t make sense to me but it is quite standard.

By remortgage do you mean ‘take a new mortgage deal’?  I’ve just signed up to a 10 year fixed rate because my previous mortgage has ended and I would be put onto the standard, higher rate.

I don’t have a new mortgage but just a new fixed term agreement on how I will pay it so the rates are lower than the standard rates.  Everything else stays the same.

If so then you will probably pay less money each month but you are just paying less interest and not affecting the repayment of the loan.

I got a ‘VriginMedia Customer’ survey pop-up on ebay yesterday.  I checked everything and can’t find any trace of malware.  Odd that it sounds quite similar to what you experienced.

I do like the look of the smart speaker.  One in my kitchen would be perfect for music and note taking and reference.  Sure a phone can do the same thing and Amazon Echo claims to also do it but I prefer Google to Amazon.  Just saying OK Google before a request or question whilst stood in the kitchen would be very handy if it worked almost 100%

I bought an Oculus Rift a while back and the possibilities really blew my mind!  Apart from it being early technology and still in need of much development it’s biggest failing is not being augmented reality.  If it had a higher resolution and was more comfortable to wear I’d ditch my monitor screen completely and use virtual desktops (or rather as many windows, displays and virtual ‘tabletops’ as you like in any setting you like with anyone you like).

It really does give you the feeling that you are working together with someone on the same project in the same room.  The freedom it provides is amazing but limited in that you are essentially blind to the real world.  If it was augmented reality and the screens and ‘tabletops’ I saw were in a real setting where I could drink my coffee and write with a pen etc then it would be amazing.

A few friends at work have bought one and say the Switch is very good and worth the money (relatively).  They also say Zelda is very good and yet non have them have put much time into it.  There was a time when you’d grind throigh a game from start to finish but the more open-worldy they getbthe less time people make to play it.

I bought a pair of french doors on ebay about 3 years ago and ebay still keeps trying to sell me more.  Quite why I’d want another set I’m not sure, blinds maybe but more doors, no.
