I tried to give blood but they don’t want it, anyone who has had a transfusion since 1980 isn’t able to because of the slight risk of CJD.

I spent £89 on a GTX1050 OC. Not a prime member (quite the opposite) but popped in for a look and the 1050 was something I’ve been keeping an eye open for at the right price.

That is very high, I didn’t realise there was anything like that in this country. It also seems that only about 10% are from Europe.

Most of my answers were guesses (i.e. got test every 3 years wrong after 70, I thought it was 2 years) but many of the guesses you could make from familiarity, e.g. EastEnders. I agree on that. The final deal WILL be terrible, there is no other reason for May to be pushing so hard for a no deal.
It would be foolish to side with the 52% and threaten the other 48% with worst case, you are highly likely to lose.

I don’t see how any of those figures are usefull?

In all respect, I think you have been misinformed Ed P.
The UK does about 55% of trades outside the EU and 45% inside. This is also pretty much true of the EU – just over 50% of their trades are outside Europe.
HOWEVER, only 6% of the actual trade in Europe is with the UK (unlike Germany which has 22% of the EU trade) !That means that we depend on the EU for nearly half of everything and yet the EU uses us for just 3%. It’s a no brainer, we can’t live without them but they can live without us.

Nice one! It is a bit of a gimmick but it is also a very good gimmick. I can really see it being everywhere when the tech becomes smaller and higher quality.
I watched the SpaceX launch online in a VR room (Oculus Rift) with lots of other ‘nerds’ on Friday. It was not a very simple question, in fact the whole thing was a sham. The NHS was nothing to do with the vote and yet many voted for £350 Million per week for the NHS budget. Migrants are nothing to do with the vote; 170,000 non-EU, non-asylum seakers were let into the country last year, every single one could have been refused.
Taking back Control still has no meaning, we don’t know what we want back from who.
In that 52/48 split there was so much rubbish around that the result was not in any way a clear iNdication of the country’s wishes.It is an absolute disgrace and has no business being blindly followed to potential destruction.

I was trying to explain to the Mrs last night that the fire shouldn’t have come into the building from outside. I’m not totally sure of this because all the windows appear to be missing on the building, even ones on the edge of where the fire was so I suspect they were flammable or easily melted. Many of the flats seem to have large windows with multiple rooms so it may be that the fire spread through one window and out another or perhaps people left their front doors open because the fire was outside and the building updraught drew the fire in that way. It is counter-intuitive that with a fire outside you’d be safer if you shut your front door – the only escape route.

I like Steam as much as I hate it. I love not needing to swap DVD’s and the simple key system for buying games from many sources. Installation and re-installation is usually straight forward and downloads are always fast.
I don’t like updating when I just want to play but I accept that because updates are part of what makes (made) PC gaming better. What I don’t like is the threat that Steam has control of several hundred pounds worth of games which it can deny me access to – all my eggs in one basket and the like.

Looking at the damage done it appears that all the windows were upvc which burns very well when hot enough. I suspect the cladding is sufficient to prevent flame coming through the aluminium skin directly to the polystyrene but rising heat would easily get through that.
It really does sound like a total botch job which should never have been given a fire certificate. Not quite sure where the £8M went but don’t think it was spent on cladding.
