I’d defo test it ‘wired’ just to rule out wifi, but I’d suspect that the issue will be too with codec support or similar, because of changes on the server side, now make your tv ‘out of date’.
Have a look to see if an update is available.
Plug it into your network, carry the tv to the socket if need be.
If non of the above work, by a Roku.
@richard i remember seeing soothing about a new town building, in the UK, last year that was doing this, the council or the owners of the building had to put up street tunnels around the building as it was literally blowing people, especially the old, off their feet.
I can’t recall where it was.
Update, it is in lees neck of the woods. Bridgewater place. See video below
Im a bit worried and it was blowing a gale last night, so not looking forward to tonight.
My gable-end faces the sea, looking northwards so we get the lot, it makes the roof tiles hum when the wind really picks up, and scares the crap out of my dogs. And my wallet ?
Richard, whether they work is down to how your house is wired. You’ll find if they work they will work, or they wont work at all.
They are that simple to set up, find a double socket, plug both in and hit sync on each. Then you move one of the two home plugs to where it’s needed, if it’s ropey , they aren’t going to work in your house. If it works, they will just work for a long time. With no user input.
So buy from a place that excerpts returns easily , as you’ll know within 10 mins if homeplugs are for you.
I’ve only ever used tp link home plugs, so can’t comment on other brands. But they haven’t disjointed me.
I can’t answer either never owned a smart tv, mainly as all friends and family have them , and I’m yet to find one with an intuitive and none clunky os.
As regards to home plug kits, i have 4 tp link jobs set up.made up of different gens of tp link plugs. For me they have simply just worked. Each one gets about 6 to 12mb when i test them with speed test dot net.
My best praise is, they are boring, they just work. My first pair was set up about 5 years ago, my last edition was probably 3 years ago and I’ve never touched them since the day they was installed. The first bit of tech I’ve bought that ‘just worked and kept working’.

I don’t know if you moved them already, but they are great how they are now. And even move on the fly out of the way.
Although adding pictures on mobile I’m still finding tedious on mobile. Fat thumbs and little space to click on space after the pic makes it hard. I doubt you could fix that either. I think thats just the way it is.

Shame on the mag, as has been said above, we experienced this a year or two ago.
It seems the internet killed the PC mag space. Ironically if the mags weren’t so good at their job, the internet could still be the plaything of the geek. They sort of killed themselves.
Side note, the feeling of sadness when the 700mb download starts and say 5mins plus, and you sigh. Then realise you’re spoilt. Just a few years ago that would take hours a decade ago would be days, and blow your cap.
I’ve dabbled in Linux on and off, mainly mint and Ubuntu, but I’m defo a noob. The majority of the mags will be obsolete, but the later ones may hold some gems.
The pi mag was mentioned above. It’s good and thriving 1. Cos pi is the ‘in thing’, and 2. It’s a super-focused magazine.
It’s a decent mag, and nice mag to read on a tablet when waiting for folk (read wife).
Happy birthday formite . ??
Also to speedy , if it is. ?
Over never heard of a website having a Xmas break.
I bet the work experience lad turned the server off thinking it was the lights, on his way out Xmas eve.
Kids are all out, I’m sat in bed, no hangover for me tomorrow.
Happy new year all.
?????✨?
You would of not liked the mk 1 sa80 I had to use bob. It was seen as a bonus if it went bang after a trigger pull.
Also for right handers only. I’d grew up shooting first air rifles and then shotguns from my left shoulder. So day one I was like wtf…. I turned to be a decent shot with my right. I got my marksmanship badges In 97, tho never progressed further. Although at ctcrm in lympstone is where the majority of our troops normal and SF are taught. Or at least was.
Did you see the news today that the first ever RM could be given charge of the whole armed forces. The reports I was reading earlier was saying “amazing for a rm to be considered for the roll” and so on. I read the story as, let’s get the head of RM on side, so he doesn’t kick up more fuss than needed as we cut his force down.
I’m just jaded I think .
I was joking about the ex bob. I’m sure it wouldn’t of taken you 3 months to plan a murder ?
Hopefully, for her, it was the moving out of Germany that took 3 months in the planning and not the other ?
Great news lee.
What happened to the plus one button? I quite like that, as some posts are worthy of appreciation but don’t necessarily need a reply. Your post above is a good example of such a post.
I got a handfull of gmx accounts for the same reasons. I got all my kids good ones, but never gave them them ,thinking that once older a decent serious email would be useful . sadly through inactivity, most are now gone.
Hand on heart I’ve never not gone through with a NY resolution .partly cos ,as mentioned above, I’ve never done one before. So this my be my year of fail.
Or not.
? im sure you’ll be with us a while longer bob.
Chris- isn’t 10k steps a day we are meant to do? I have no idea how we are meant to do that, as it’s about 5miles . or rather an hour of fast walking or 90mins for an average pace.
I only do about half that every other day when I walk the dogs. So probably about an hour and half a week, instead of a day.
Working from home doesn’t help either.
We could be the same person lee.lol. mine is the same as yours. With the addition of having to go out more, I’ve gone from a 5 night a week guy , which admittedly is too much, to going my local only about 6 times last those year and probably the same last. So im gonna make the effort of at least once a month .
But my biggest resolution , not that I’ve every done one. Is get the running shoes back on . it’s been about 15 years so it’s going to be hard. But one needs to get in some type of shape. My eldest girl does 5k charity runs throughout the year. So my goal is hardly high, but daunting none the less.
Im gonna have to start small, not just for my lungs, but it ease my back into it. Luckily we have an abandoned caravan site on our hill, with an oval road about 400m in length. And best of all super private, so no needs to see me dying. Given its location and circular nature, I can easily up the distance little by little without ever going far.
So I have no excuse …….
Lol, I was looking in the side menu. Not ventured that far down a page. Sorry. And Tar.
Funny enough I woke this morning to a paypal email saying my credit was in my account, yesterday they emailed me telling me it would be the 9th of Jan.
I paid return postage as it was my fault. I ordered the compleat wrong item.
