It seems Keith hasn’t bought chip lately. They are no longer cheap.

Its not speeding offences, but dangerous driving.

Around my way, we have black 20mph signs outside the schools on busier roads. I’m yet to meet a person that actually know what the black mph signs mean. The limit on one is 40mph, so no one knows when the 20 is enforced. Especially given school opens at 7 am, intake is 9 am, school finishes at 3 pm and last kick out is 7 pm.

I have seen these 20 signs accompanied with amber lights before. However, we don’t have the lights on ours. So no one knows the rules on this, including my girl and lads driving instructors (two different ones).

You can be done for a dangerous drive if doing more than 20mph going past a school at kicking out time. Even if the limit is 30 plus.

I know a number of people that have had fines and points for this back home, as the two jnr schools are on quite wide main roads. Not was about 2000ish when they started this. Peronally i approve, and hardly drive slow.

i do love to slow fools down, we have a load of county roads, so I’ll be doing 60/70 and I’ll get fools barrel down on my doing 100 plus, so I’ll slow to 40, and drift towards the middle. If the road is to wide to block, my car is quick enough to speed up before most to stop them overtaking.

The onus is to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt. If that can’t be done, the guilty are not guilty in the eyes of the law.

Knowing guilt and proving it are very different monsters, and the backbone of our, mostly decent, system.

It’s the defense’s job to cast doubt.

My Tesco is new, about 4 years old.you get your car scanned in and out my camera, iirc its 90mims or maybe 3 hours.

Though directly across the road there is a totally free carpark that was 75% pay and displays 25%  free. But last year just dropped all the charges.

However, unless you work in town, i can’t see why anyone would need more than an hour. I can do a full shop for us 7 in 20mins. If you go to 9 am, 3 pm or after 5 pm. Though i don’t brow, i know what i want and I’m in and out. The wife takes longer, but she too hates shopping so doesn’t hang around.

Other than food, everything else we buy gets delivered. We sometimes get shopping delivered, but i always forget something or decide of something i a missing one thing for, so would rather do the shopping for about 3 days at a time. Shopping for 3 days takes just as long as shopping for 7.

Have you seen the new scanners you walk around with, scan as you go, then on check out, they just scan your scanner and randomly pick 2 or 3 items to scan. I’ve not tried it, but the wife love it.

I don’t think it saves as the time it takes to scan every item by a novice, can’t be faster than the cashier doing it. Also if you don’t time your shop, you’ll still have to queue up.

Now if you could just walk straight out and be charged to your account. Then i be more enthusiastic about it. The tech is here and in use elsewhere.

My  Argos is now better that i can go Sainsburys to collect purchases. I used it before xmas and out of of 10 items 9 was ready to pick up automatically and one i had to wait an hour before pick up. As they had to have it sent from the local Argos.

I’m assuming as it was December they wad doing shuttle runs on the hour to keep up. Probably just one or two shuttle trips now. Ether way my nearest Argos is rhyl, but it had no parking, so id always opt for colwyn bay pick up, before Sainsbury’s started ‘click and collect.

In my day job, you didn’t get near the range for about 5 weeks, and you needed to pass basic weapon handling drills.

You’re given your weapon on day two, and its with you all the time. You would get it out about 7 am and drop it back off to the armoury when your finisher for the day. if your off camp its yours 24/7. Including sleeping in your bag.

Every time you enter/exit a building, pick up or pass on a weapon, you would always make sure it’s in a safe state.

So by the time you have live ammo you are comfortable with the weapon, and all your drills are spot on.

Late in training, we would use live rounds in the field, as far i know RM is only no SF force to do this. Actively shoot at each other. But with the trust that both sides shot high. It shows trust in your fellow oppos and shows you can still function under pressure. I loved this, as its the only way to experience a small fraction of coming under fire.

As to films etc, it has never bothered me. But you never hear anyone counting out their rounds*, and calling for mags in the lull of the action.

Basically a load of pissed off, scary, scared men f-ing and blinding wanting a runner to fill them up. And the runner telling them all to f-off as he is pinned down/too far away, or can’t keep up.

*I would always put a tracer in 5th from last, as id always loose count. Also, my second round would usually be a tracer too.

I’ve used Tesco online a fair bit, with zero issues (m&s also are great).

It seems your issues come from you wanting someone else to collect it, and there being a parking machine.

Is there no option for home delivery? Though that would probably include a charge. If it didn’t I can’t see why I’d opt to pick up over home delivery, especially given I go my Tesco probably 4 times a week.

It’s strange for me to hear that there is a pay meter in the Tesco car park. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that. Coincidentally I’m writing this sat in a Tesco carpark

A great shame. I was a chief cheerleader for their first models. I preordered their first offering not expecting much but was more than satisfied and sung their praises on here(mm). probably sold a fair few devices for them. ?

Although the margins they was working with must of been so tight. They would of needed a big influx of loans just to build the brand out, hoping for higher end devices to eventually pay the bills. An old tale.

After seeing that Richard said he found a teat I went looking. I failed too, I got “mid level symptoms”. I don’t hold much faith in the online test, but as PM says, it would explain a lot.

I love an underground tunnel. Apparently, in Rhyl, there is a mini Venice under the old market building, that was once some posh hotel I think. It’s meant to be really good. But you can’t get access to the building, and no one seems to know about it.

That’s about the most interesting thing about Rhyl, it has a fire damaged, underground Venice set up, that you cant see lol.

Update, seems the canal system was quite big, and has a hand in its own shady demise.

I’d imagine number 11 would be up to your standards bob, plus you would have lackies to keep the rear garden in shape. Plus I’m sure the secret service have many good routes around the capital to explore, and to eat your ice cream.

I really have a wet shave but use a cut through for trimming the edges. I’ve twice given myself a cutthroat shave, and its excellent if you don’t cut yourself. They go blunt fast. I sterol my jeans to freshen them up, but they don’t last long at all. But better than and safety razor is 100% deadly in the wrong hands.

I have a scar on my left forearm where I was shaving and my kid ran I’m a grabbed my attention. As I turned I just nicked my arm and made a mess.

As I was I’m a rush, a made some quick butterfly stitches, from some quality plasters (thanks, NHS), filled the wound with superglue, held it to gather with the make makeshift butterflies, then pit a large plaster over the lot to stop any blood leakage through my short. All the time the wife was telling me I should do for stitches.

It’s only now 2″ long, I did a good job om lining it up. Though it was a super clean cut.

Sad times. Also, i just saw an article that the US medium-range interceptor has failed again for the second time in 6 months

I’m still of the belief we could just lie and say we have the best weapons system in the world. As Ed says if we are ever in a position to need it, we are F#$ked anyway.

As to the marines im bias, but they do a great all-around job, wherever they are needed. They spent the second half of the Afghan farce actively seeking out the enemy, keeping them busy while our army engineers and soldiers secured and rebuilt towns and security.

I’m really jealous of the role the Marines played in Afghan. A real dream of a role for any soldier. Basically, go out and cause trouble. It really has echoes of the past when the commandos came to be under Churchill. In those days there was less oversite, and more fun.

You can tell that dave is a computer and network pro “turn it on and off” ?

Joking aside that usally fixes most router issues. If mine ever slows, i just log in and reboot it.

I recall having a terrible issue where my girls 1+1, would kick my 1+1, off my own network when she came home. To fix this i had to manually assign a fixed ip to both phones. Dave help me solve that. ?

I don’t bet, as a rule, it doesn’t entreat me. Tho i will bet if at a meet, as it just adds to the day. There are usually 5 or 6 races, so ill take with me £60 to lose if i win so be it, as well as beer money.

I see the £60 as the price of entry on top of the actual entry price which is around £50. You can get cheaper tickets, but then you spend the majority of the day queuing for either a drink or a pee.

Also, another time i did bet was when we still lived at home, and that was £2 on a footy coupon. It gist adds to a Saturday afternoon session. most pubs back home have bookies attached.

Not something I’ve done in about 15 years.

I live by the opposite rule. If i have cash, it will be spent, rather that be 79pence or £500, someone will find a use for it.

But the priciple is similar, everyone has a card, when your allowance for that month is gone its gone.

When have a handful of accounts, we have a bill account that does  dd to cover the bills. So enough to pay them off goes in each week/month, plus a little float. A shopping account that the shopping comes out of, that’s the one the kids have access to. Then I and the wife have our allowance account , the kids their pocket money accounts. Then there is the savings. the amount that goes into the savings and the personal allowance, to spend on what we will fluctuate on how much is left.

Then i have a couple of credit accounts i have as emergency cards in my car, and the wife has hers. I keep mine around zero but do use it often. As i tend to always put fuel on it.

So we use cards, the same way you use cash. But without the cash bit.

We don’t do it no more be we did once use excel spreadsheets to budget food and bills, so we could 1. Survive and 2. You could “predict ” the future and see if you would have the “£500 in may for the mot” or how much we would have by December for Xmas.

Writing down first what you buy for a month, then looking at it, and picking out only what you need, would save 60% off the cost of the month. great way to spot waste. All then bottles of pop at a pound each, or them £3 coffees, can soon add up.

Suppose its just like dieting, first shame yourself with that you actually eat, and work backwards.

But i like to micromanage into pots, so i find accounts the best way. Also it means if you want something out your budget you have to cut back and save for it.

Probably cos i was brought up watching my mum put everything on the catalogue and the card, so she was always a year behind, chasing the bill. So i really disk credit, and them that pray on the poor.
