Pelforth blond and amber are really nice. If a little strong. The brown is ok too, but very strong. It’s part of the reason we go to or through France every summer.
The blond is my fav. Even though as a rule I don’t like the trendy blond beers.
I seen Czech Bud in a keg in tesco last week for £15. Going a friend’s next weekend, I’ll probably grab one.
I don’t park in the disabled bays as I don’t trust old people to not to chuck their doors wide open.
I live to park the furthest away as I can. Or at least further than most people will walk. I drop the wife at the door, then go and park.
If the carpark is small or relatively full, I’ll pick the most expensive cars to park between. My thinking is they won’t want to chip their doors.
I don’t know if you have been in a GTC, but being a 2 door coupe, the doors are stupidly long, in a carpark, I have to pull my chirr right back, to be able to exit. If you think of a long door, the angles on them are all wrong for tight spaces
Also my doors are just over heavy. It’s because the doors make up the majority of the rigidity, but still they are too heavy. My 9 year old can’t open them when I revers down my hill. It’s about a 1:3 so the weight plus gravity makes it a pain. The wife struggles too.
Though you can slfeel the quality difference with Hyundais Coupe that looks like the gtc. As they own their own steal, they put about 25 percent more high strengh steal in their cars than any other oem.
When I got in an i30 Coupe (iirc) I neatly ripped the door off it was that light. Most would see this as a sign of a lesser quality, but in fact it’s the oppersite. As they put in more extruded steal in the car, they don’t need the doors to add to the ridgidness. So they just need a simple door.
If your ever at a garage, go and geck out how stupidly heavy a GTC door is. The 5 door astra, just has normal weight doors. It does give a good quality thud noise. But that’s just mind games.
My smaller dog sits like this often, as she likes to spend her life forcing anyone that will, to tickle her belly.
She is probably a similar size to Lee’s cat also. My bigger dog, he is just grumpy, and lives on the stairs. Refusing to move for anyone.
All the pi clusters I’ve seen use the open stack system used above, with short cat5 cables connecting them.
I remember getting my first broadband a hole half a meg, I recall that feeling like the future. Only 30mins to download an MP3.
In 15 years time I can’t see us looking back at how slow 30meg was. As at this point. I see anything over 5 acceptable for a single device, and 30 more than adequate for most homes. So in 2030 when we have half a gig or more, I don’t think we’ll look back on 30 as slow.
I see BB now like electric or water. In most cases we don’t worry if there is enough avalible. It’s just there.
It’s getting to the point, that Internet is a must, (especially as it grows). to the point I recon at some point it will be protected like energy is for the elderly and houses with children.
I think a year or so back, the EU was trying to designate it a human right. I’m not to sure, but I get what they was aiming for.
Gutted for you. ?
I won’t go my Asda as there is always many abandoned torrys.
I won’t go my local Aldi as the carpark is extremely tight, and many have been hit there.
I noticed one on the 40s in Manchester last year. But that’s a big city. Only tested it as the hotel wifi was poor.
It’s been a few years since I’ve tested what 4g I get at home, as ive had no reason too. But that are crazy speeds. Hopefully 5g covers the majority of the island with speeds of alterations 20meg. And that’s job done.
Dispute my 30meg, I’m in laws are 5 min walk away and I can’t get a signal at all. Same over the hill too.
Oh I think at Rhyl train station I could get 10meg on wifi last year. Which was a massive jump of sub half meg the year before. I picked the kids up from there at 2am most Fri and Sat nights l, for about 5 years. They all worked at an Indian restraint. From 16 5o 18/19. My 16 year old looks like he will be starting there this summer. So it looks like dad’s taxi will be back in business.
I’d get the outgoing 2 door sport over the new one. It’s now looks to rounded and soft. Big fan of the swift sport.
Never driven one though. Always preferred them to the mini. Too big, and too expensive. And oh boy if you want a nice one, the options prices are stupid. Typical bmw.
The entry cooper isn’t a cheap car, and its so plasticy. I have no issue with plastic, the fiesta st is one of my fav cars, and I love the Stepway, but at the price bmw want its not on.
A bit like the arona, the entry level is cheap looking indeed, lots of cheap plastic, natch that to a small engine, why would anyone bother. It not that cheap either.but if you get the top one,it has everything assist etc including leather and Alcantara, seats, and then the package and price make more sense.
I ether want a nice car or a quick car. The cooper doesn’t offer either. Also I don’t like the over heavy steering on the mini. Makes it feel twice the size than it is. Which for me defeats the point of one.
Saying all that,it does work on country roads, but thats it. Not food on the motorway or town. They are like the iphone, people buy them cos others have them
Use tour noggin and get a swift sport. Say that to a mini owner, and they look at you and say “A Suzuki” while turning their nose up. Just means better second hand prices for the likes of us.
I have similar issues with 3 series bmw and c class mercs. Buy a Mondeo in titanium spec and save £10k.
Yes the nini case is excellent. With 4 USB poors, internet pass through, working buttons and a fan header. And excellent build quality.
I’d be happy with this at £30.for £14 it feels like I ripped someone off.
I’ve got a single USB nes clone controller. Think ill get a snes one too and get my Mariocart on.
I have a few pi cases, one official one (from china, very nice, one crappy £2 one, and now this one. I may get a couple more just for the reset button, and the space for a small fan. May be perfect for the 3 3b+ given there thermal throttling
Im defo going to attack it tomorrow. I’d do it now, bit my tea was huge, carbs on carbs on carns with Rogan josh.currently sat watching footy, holding my eyes open. Once the carbs pass I may may give it a go.
Nippy is a good word for it. It’s not slow, but I feel it will lack the umph I’m use to. Ive not looked at the torque figures, but it’s not going to be great. I recon it will drink fuel on the motorway. Given I’ll get an auto (cos I’m now lazy) at least I won’t be constant changing gear on the motorway.
A good few years back I borrowed a last gen 1.3 escort. At the time I had a ‘chipped’ rover 420sli that was pumping out about 180 bhp. I drove the escort on my usual motorway drive to uni (55 miles ) and the lack of power had me up and the gears like i was making an omelet.
The kids 05 ka is far better, and that’s hardly good.
I think we get spoilt. But it’s amazing how we can now get 115bhp out of a 3cylinder 1 litre motor.
If we (her) didn’t need a higher car, I’d be getting the Seat Leon st (wagon) FR which is a 180hp/380lb ft 2litre jobbie. With a similar interior, but not quite as highly speced. I wish I could get the Arona with the 1.5 petrol unit that VAG do that is 150bhp. It would be for more economical. The 1 litre may give out next to no pollution, however it’s mpg isn’t great. At around 33mpg, that’s what was on the read out of the one I drove over 1500miles.
I currently moan about the 36mpg in mine, but I can justify it when it curses at 100 and is fun around the lanes.
I can see myself buying an oldish Fiesta ST for my run about. And the Arona being the car to take the wife out. May finally get a 126 and get a referb arbarth chucked in it. Probably could do that all in for £2000-2500. And have a riot of a car to nip around in. I’d like to keep it looking crappy to. Proper little sleeper. Also save on body work, which isn’t cheap.
I’m looking at getting the new seat arona excellence lux. Or rather Doris is on her mobility.
A whole 3cylinider 1liter auto. Drove one a week or so ago, and the engine felt fine. The car in any spec under FR (and that’s a push) is cheap and naff looking inside. Thr 2 above FR, excellence and Excellence lux really transform it.
I’d rather a normal estate, but she wants something taller. I can’t bring myself to go 4×4 size or even Tuscan size. The arona is just a wee bit higher than normal cars, and is quite big on space, while being small.
It’s basically a jacked up ibiza. But very nice. The lux comes with everything. All the bits of kit as a geek I’d love, but if buying I’d avoid. All the kit that will start dying at 5 to 8 years old. But hat it’s a lease.
Think it’s £500 down which isn’t that bad.
The only time I have ever used bing, is on fresh installed of windows, getting the chrome download. Ie is set to bing I presume.
It may be the best search engine out there, but no one has bothered to check. Lol.
I was planning on butting my retro pi nes together this afternoon. The girl realised I had a few hours, and now we are about to head off on a driving lesson.
May do it tonight while watching the footy.
The pi hole blocks that iirc Dave.
Any Google return that is Sponsored the pi hole swallows up.
When we was kids, one of of friends older brothers had a mini, and on occasions, we would grab a corner each, and put it some strange places. 2ecpit it in a right alley once, and he had to get it carried out. We got in trouble for that one. I think that ended about about 6 months of fun
With the 126 you could probably do it with two people. Iirc I recon it topped out at about 40 so you’d need a big carpark to do 30. Iirc mine was in kph but was right hand drive. Not sure if they was all like that. But this one had a hard life before it ended up with us.
Probably told this before, my mum had xr3i’s my dad always a 1.8 or 2l sierra g. So half decent cars. He brought this 70s (maybe older) shit box home that had half an exhaust and backfired and farting, and said this would be his new run around.
As an 11 year old I was mortified, refused to go near it. Untill he said it was mine to mess with. Funny though as now I would daily one, 1. Because they are cool as, 2. I want my kids refusing getting in it.
I recon a referb 500 arbarth engine would fit in one too. And I could probably work on a car of this age. Iirc the old arbarth engines are about 70bhp probably 3x the 126 original output. Better put some disks on it, and stiffen it up. Loose a stone or two and it will fly.
I’m talking myself into this as I write. I do love a small car. Especially a hot(ish) one.
Yes John your sky box just turns into a dumb box, but it gives you access to what you need. Though we just binned ours and don’t do live TV. Catch up only.
If you (tc) do fix your signal issues, I agree with the above, you view is the best live TV and catch up ui out there bar non. Even my in laws “just got it”, it’s so simple and everything is kept for 7 days with no need to record. They must have some patent as it’s such an obvious solution and been around maybe 6 years. No use to me, having a terrible signal, but if you have a signal and internet, it’s the dogs doo-dars.
But tbh it’s not needed. Ditch the box and go on demand only. It’s stops you watching crap you would never usually chose to watch. Make your tv viewing more meaningful while freeing up time to do other things.
First car drove was a Fiat 126, I keep looking out for a decent one, but they are not cheap now. My old man was given his in part payment for a job.
It had just been to Berlin and back to see the the Hoff liberate Easten Europe. It wasn’t in the best of shapes. My dad chopped Ed the roof off (it’s was a canvas roof) so he chopped the the rest out and we would take it to bike meets (we had crossers) and I was given the keys and told to figure it out.
Different times.
It’s a shame the 500 has the heart of history, as the 126 was far funkier. Or at least cuter.
Od tv. No need to remember to record again. We haven’t recorded since sky tv vanished and FTTC arrived, on me about 5 years ago.
About reception I don’t know, could never get an ota receipted pre or post digital. My signal actually got worse with the digital switch. All to do with my location.
You could use your sky box to watch BBC and frewiew, and od for catch up. Actually you can watch live on the iplayer too.
Just make sure your download limit is suited for such use. Live TV is about 1gb an hour (rule of thumb ).
I agree, though I’ve not used 10s. And I don’t use the metro side of it either, except for the BT sports app as BT sees that as mobile and my BT subscription is for mobile only.
He doesn’t, why would you think he does? I had to google Alfie bass. Never heard of him before. PT had a few good pod casts i like to listen to.
Even when he was a massive windows fan boy he was entertaining, these days he is far more level headed and open minded. Some of his older fans, now moan that he often dumps on ms. Which I prefer tbh
My favourite podcast he does is called what the tech, his most famous is windows weekly. Lee put me on to that about 5 years ago or more.
That’s cool, have a soft spot for these daft things. Will be Sat in one for an hour or so later when my girl finishes work and we go on a lesson.
I seen a yt video (actually a series) , of some German guy having fun chopping a ka up. Iirc it ended up a 3 wheeler in its final incarnation. At one point it was a 2 wheeler like the James bond car.
