I don’t think I was doing 40 rolls a day at 16 to 20 either, but by 28 ish I was. I don’t think I was depressed, life seemed to be fine. Went thru uni, had kids and no money, so I may well of just been super stressed.

But smoking was a big part of bonding. Nothing like being piss wet through, cold tired, sore and genually peed off, and some oelne handing you a hot wet and half a soggy fag.

In other news, I finally scratched my car over the weekend, reversing into a mates stupidly tight driveway! I wasn’t happy. Still not.

I smoked before I entered service, but alot of the lads that never, soon did. It wasn’t encouraged, but it was stressful, and the main reason if you have a big enoght group keep exiting for a smoke, you’ll soon start to follow.

It doesn’t help the average age being about 17 or 18 so your easily swayed to.

We did smoke alot back then, and then I never slowed. Also never helped that my anti and nan would have about 3 hols a year (not together) so I’d alway have boxes of Drum for free, and didn’t buy baccy for years.

I recall once having to buy a 50g pack and it was 7.50, my head almost exploded. I think now they are almost £20 a pack.

Was at a friend’s last weekend and he had a pack of golden verginia, I never like that, to moist for me, but I love the smell of the stuff. My old man smacked GV and from about 5 onwards he had me rolling for him, so the smell is ingrained in my brain.

Also I’m a rolling pro. It’s like riding a bike. I Sat and rolled up a good 20, on Saturday, why my make was smoking at his table.

I’ve always found the ‘lesser’ brand dealers, to me far nicer then the better known dealers. BMW and merc all seem to be wankers. (sorry but it’s true), then you get the Ford and Vx that know they don’t need to try that hard so don’t, but if you get down to skoda seat pug and even Hyundai I’ve always felt like they try harder to make you feel welcome.

But tbh I just want to be left alone, I usually know exactly what I want a week before I enter any garage. All I want to know is price, and to see a certain spec in the metal.

Seeing the exact car you want seems to be almost impossible, unless you drop lucky on your choose. When I got my GTC, I tested two cars to get the feeling of the one I wanted. Fist was one with the same engine but differnt spec, then one with a lesser engine, but auto with the a very similar spec. Between the two I gay a decent approximation of what I was to get.

I knew I wanted to car before I walked in, but I still wanted a play.

I did have to wait about two weeks to test drive the Arona in a similar spec (it wad one step below what I wanted), as they had one decent spec car, doing the rounds of north Wales north west England. The one in the showroom was the basic version, and in that set up, it’s got nothing that would make anyone want it.

The Arona I tested was up Lee’s way (iirc) the day before it come to my local seat dealer. Anything below FR trim, isn’t worth your your time. FR and above is where the fake leather starts replacing cheap plastics. And boy is it cheap in the basic model.

I’m no anti smoking Hitler. Most ex smokers are terrible at telling other to stop,or how much they stink etc..

I don’t care, smoke or vape if you wish. Neither is good for the body, but I’m sure they already know that, without being preached to. ?

The liquids are no doubt healthier than smoking, but ad of yet very little research or standards are in place.

Plus everyone I know that is no on Ecigs, all have what is known as Vap cough. An ever constant tickly cough.

I don’t trust them, ive been off the cigs for years, bar the do some I’m the pub,but i still after about eight to ten years, eat 2mg mints in the car. The tesco own ones, last about 6 weeks a pack.

I did stop fully for 4 years, then went away for two weeks with just the lads, ended up on 20 plus a day while away. So on return to home the 2mg lozenge thong started.well i started on the 4mg for a couple  weeks, then dropped to the 2s.

I use that sticky velcro as cable tidies on the underside of my desks. It’s good stuff.

Ed I use(d) the good sticky velcro in my car to attach my hdd and hootoo. It works fantastic by not in cars. As the car heats up, the velcro is that good, the actual glue peals away when you try yo seperate the velcro.

So great stuff, will work for most things, but in an unstable environment or in a use that isn’t semi permanent, the glue isn’t up to the standard of the velcro.

John would be much better with a cheap tiny 2 or 3mm neodymium magnet, super glued to the inside of the ash tray, and one of them cheap magnetised holders linked too above.

Remember to glue the magnet in the right way, lol. I’d use two (they come in packs) to stop any ‘swivel’ but probly not needed. It will be solid, and easily removable.

Though John, if you have a cup holer, I’ve seen ash trays that fit in cup holders, for cheap, that’s probably the way I’d go. However I’ve l got 3 cup holders in the front of my car, for some unknown reason!

I use it daily, hardly on PC any more, mostly on mobile. So I’ll happily pay 24. Always thought a dollar a month was far too cheap vs it’s us fullness.

Think mine renews in October iirc. It’s been about 10 years now since I subscribed as back in the day the only reason to sub was to get access to the mobile view, or rather dolphin browser lastpass plug in. Do you need to sub for mobile access now? I’m not sure, I just paid as a way to donate to the cause.

For something that I use so often, 2 dollars pm is fine by me. However there are other services. But I’m not moving.

My mother swore I had one in the neighbouring town where I grew up. She was there one day when I was about 19, she approached the guy and was speaking to him, he thought she was crazy, and told her where to go. Lol.

With regards to coincident when we moved to this house. My son got a girlfriend, turned out she lived in the house nextdoor but moved a couple of months before we moved in (my lovely christian neighbour chased her out). Also the girlfriends mum worked in our local option.

When we first went in, she noticed our address, and we worked out our kids was dating. Small world.

We use either resolva or roundal on the front garden once a year (needs doing) as it’s block paved and a bitch to do by hand and lengthy.

Takes ten mins to cover the lot. Then about 3 to 5 days later, a quick going over with a stiff yard brush un seats all the dead weeds.

I see any product designed to kill something, it will be dangerous in other ways too (side effects). As science marches on, we find this side effects out, and keep restricting the market, untill in the end, (in this case) we will end up with poorer and poorer weed killers, that are more friendly overall.

I bet in the 60s, weed killer was some  tremendous stuff that worked 100% of the time. But would probably kill you if you got a lung full too.

We bought a new property 12 months ago, the garage was preserved inside with creosote. That nasty smell, was the smell of summer for me, every year me and my mum would do the front and back fences. Now we have to use the crappy water based stuff what fades and washes off, and need a many coats. At least it doesn’t smell of creosote. I never said I liked it, just it reminded me of youth.

I never did look up why it was banned. I bet that killed weeds.

Bob or anyone else, You should check out the book, The Improbability principle, by David Hand. It’s very good. He argued there is no such thing as coincidences and miracles. On average we should all see a ‘miracle’ At least once a month. Great if you like probably and stats, not so good if you believe in miracles.

Wow, that Amazon link is great, it gives you the first two chapters, if you hit the preview button.

Long left click wouldn’t work.on a desktop browser. (maybe try mobile view, may work, or install fb messenger on a phone or tablet)

I do prefer without Mike, not cos I don’t like him, I just prefer the geeky stuff. Saying that I was thinking how better it was without Mike taking time away from the geeky stuff, and Edd does one, and returns when the mates had soon all the bits I’d of found most interesting.

So mixed bag that for me.

The guys house and set up looks stunning. Been Norway once, up North, very pretty place, mighty cold (Especially when camping and swimming), and very very expensive.

Did you see he had a tesla too. Tesla is big in Norway. I think the have the most Teslas per pop than any other country.

I was young when I went Wembley, about 12, it was to watch the challenge cup final.

At that time I’d only ever been, Anfield, Gooderson and Naughton park. All really different today (except Wooderson), and entering Wembley and there being shops, bars, and all sorts under the stands was mind blowing.

We got beat but it was a good (long) day out. Though I’ve never heard anyone have anything good to say about a Wembley day out. I don’t thin the stadium was to blame, more it’s location, or rather distance from any good watering holes.

As a kid, we got a couch, parked outside, then straight back on for home. But today on away trips, I like to usually get a travel lodge./premier inn, on the day of the game, drive down before it, feed, pint or three, game, then town. So I’d love to be back in Cardiff.

Great day out. I’d stay two nights for a Cardiff cup final. For a Wembley trip, I’d probably stay the night before the game if at all.

Wouldn’t mind a weekend in Kiev in about 3 weeks time ? just hope we don’t get embarrassed!

I suppose your right Richard re starting the timer. Mine took under 45mins (loose time backed on a football match half). I have no idea the length of time it took to download on any of my pc’s as I don’t turn them off, so the download ‘just happened’. I have no idea how big it was, never looked. So could of taken a day or ten mins to download.

But on all my PC I only had to do one manual reboot. I don’t know if they done auto reboots, as I don’t minor my computers when they are updating.

Tbh I don’t know how long the update actually took, it could of been 2mins to 45mins, as I hot go, just before kick off then at half time i checked back and it asked for a reboot. That took me straight to the desktop, and the annual auto launching of edge to tell me all its new features, that I instantly closed with out reading. Lol.

As long as it runs excel I don’t care what it does. I’m so over pc’s to care, my dislike for windows grows on a monthly basis.

A pc is now just a tool, for when a phone is to small for the job.

In fb msg long press the message thread and you get a list of options. On desktop the will be some type of select box, as right click would just bring up the browser options.

I don’t use FB msg on a desktop top so can’t be more presice. But on mobile/tablet. Just long press. Though if it was me, I’d just just the old msg thread to carry on. I do this quite often with customer service  emails.
