The best if luck bob 🤞
I’ve had a good 20 locals ask if we go full lock down like Italy, could they stay in the pub for the duration. They was serious too.
We have a cafe upstirs and beer Down..
Forget the above.
I just paid on pay pal, is there an option for recurring payments?
I still have the final issue on my loft. Event hough the last few years weren’t that great.
I did use to love it in the days of the ads, sitting there building a pc I could never afford.
The Internet ruined that. An online Configuratior just isn’t the same.
If this does turn out bad, alot of small businesses will go to the wall, just through bad information and panic.
If the pub was to have to close for 2 to 3 weeks, it would put the place in a huge whole.
Doesnt even need to close, just people staying home could be as bad. Not to mention this week is the start of the holiday season. If people stop coming to their vans, it’s gonna be bad for local businesses.
Liverpool v Chelsea is on the beeb and I player tonight.
Happy “belated” Birthday Bob 🎂
I see Wales has had its first case.
Re super spredders, look up typhoid Mary. I bet there is one or two like her today
I’m fine with subs, if it is needed.
Also I would take a used thinkpad over a new Acer every time
The kids have very decent i5 lenovo yogas, and I have an I7 thinkpad carbon. Total for 3 was under 600. The carbon alone was a 1000 machine 2 year prior. The yoga about 5/600 a pop.
If money is no object a dell xps 13. May be smaller than the 15 inch wanted, but because its edge to edge display and higher res, it feels like a 15 and it is the new benchmark for a laptop keyboard. Better than the new think pads.
It’s interesting at the very least.
Is this the Americans trying to get out in front of a stroty, twist thier own narrative? Or is it true, is it Chinese theft? Or it could it all be totally unrelated?
At the least the theories of the next few days will be fun.
One would think, irans containment policy is to get rid of the infected asap!
To be honest, if they done that in China this would of been over before it started. Though probaly a bit harsh.
The printer did turn up. Not set it up and tried it yet. It also has a full set of spare inks. So fingures crossed.
Need some posters printing so it will be tried out tomorrow.
All seems OK on the north Wales coast. Tbh the winds never sounded as sting as they was a few weeks ago.
Though we did have a bit of water blow up under our old slate roof. But no real damage here.
I noticed the interface shift, I just never noticed the name change. Probably cos I just search for apps in the app menu, and it’s still called Tom Tom amigo, so writing Tom Tom finds it.
I never even noticed it chanced names. I used it all the time as an overlay for Google maps. It still works the same way. I used it last week when helping a friend.
Ive never used any other functionality of Tom Tom’s sat nav, just use it for the overlay.
my car has a good sat nav (tom Tom software on an sd card) with a speed limit /and speed showing, bit I much prefer to use android auto, sadly I don’t think you can make the overlay trick work in auto, but waze has an speed/limit icon built in and works well.
Also on my car it has a digital dash board, so it tells you the road limit almost all the time on the dash if you want it to
Funny enough I don’t want it on a daily basis, it bugs me. I think it’s the red ring distracts my eyes. But on drives to places I don’t know I’ll have it up on the dash, and google maps on the media screen.
I’m currently surpassed the need for gmaps with an overlay. But my next car may not have android auto, so it will be back to a phone stand and my old approch. Even if it has a built in satnav and media. Rather use the phone.
@Richard re health is another issue I’m worrying over, but my older girl now 22 (how she got thst old so quick I’ll never know) is going to look after my wife/take any burden off her, as I can’t go. (don’t want to go).
Regarding insurance it’s was nowhere close to what I was expecting, not cheap, but do able.
The whole reason for the trip is our youngest girl (now 12), has never been on a plane, and my wife wants to take her on one before she get any worse.
By the time she came along, we’d decided airposts and kids wasn’t a good mixture. So for the last 15 years we’ve driven to Europe, first camping, and as we grew, rented large caravans, then eventually, the last two trips rented people’s holiday let’s etc.
Which is a fantastic way to holiday. Point your far in a direction, open the Home Away app, and book somthing for a few days that’s about 5 hours away. A few days later either stay longer or ponit the car in another direction. Rince and repeat for 3 or 4 weeks. Never get board.
We do always have a main destination booked for a week or two. Tho we found we didn’t like two weeks anywhere, so we cut it to two maid destinations a week each.
It’s an adventure with a holiday in the centre. Looks like my next hol is going to be Australia next winter, as my sown is there. But it will be a week with him in his place, then rent a car for two weeks and cross then an adventure up the east coast.
@VFM thanks. I’ll take that 👍
I have two locals (man and wife), she is a travel agent, self employed now, (ex tomas Cook), now they are setting off in two weeks on a 5 star all Inc 2 week cruise of ASIA for two for a total of 1100 quid. Last min deal of course.
You can’t moan at the price, but I think I’d pass.
The wife and kids are going lanzorte on a few weeks (6 I think) I’m worried about that, I wouldn’t be oning own a boat anywhere, nether mind one to frigging aisa, calling at singapore, Hong Kong, tialand, etc.. It’s like a big sailing game of Russian roulette.
Also my main Saturday barmaid is leave for tialand today for 3 weeks. I suspect in a months time, my pub will be ground zero for Wales!
If it turns up and is usable, I won’t be buying gen inks for it. Sheesh!
