What’s up with the human rights act? I’ve never looked into it, never heard anything bad said against it, or good for that matter. I’m truly ignorant on the matter.

Re cable management. Unless you’re doing it to look nice, something I’ve never got, but I hate LEDs so I don’t want a fancy looking PC. But if you’re doing it for added airflow for cooling, it’s a waste of time.

Linus tech tips done a great set of tests about 5 years ago (cant look it up, as I’m on foreign data and I’m not wasitn it sorry) .

They went from a tidy case, under load, then in incremental steps made it less tidy, then went mad, stuffing a T shirt, an iron and all kinds of crap in this mess of a pc, and the temps hardly moved.

My pc cases are all over 10 years old, and top mounted, both half decent cases. I just bung the rats nest where the dvd drive would of been and call it a day. Maybe the odd zip tie to hold it up there. But that’s about it.

I do appreciate a tidy  water cooled, led, tempered glass system. I just don’t want one. It would drive me mental.

The MX5 lot are a real pipe and ale brigade. I’d be amazed if even one had gone missing. Lol

Though I bet what are still alive, will be under dust sheets, as they will be going up in price I bet.

At a time of such upheaval, they shouldn’t be having a summer break.

I liked the  mk1 MR2 with the T top. Though I once seen a video and in sure all the chassis was was an reversed corrolla iirc.

Never liked any of the MR2 looks after that. The last was very boring looking.

The downside of being lucky an having a good innings, is you’ll get to see though youre close to disappear one by one.

The angle of that MX5 photo you posted bob, makes it look more like trh Honda S200. Another great car. Probably the better car than the MX5, but there are 100s of thousands of MX5’s sold in the uk, so parts are cheap, and modding is huge.

I’d lije one of the older more simple ones. One a Haynes manual will fix. It may get me into actual spanner work. Somtehing I’ve always shied away from until this month. Never fixed anything on a car before ever.

An MX5 or a Landrover 90 would be perfect  hobby cars. The Landrover would suit my personality, but the MX5 is more fun, so would suot my driving personality.

Also in sure my girl wouldn’t wouldn’t mind a convertible sports car, to be named driver on. I bet hers would never move.

MX5 is a great car bob. Easy and cheap to turbo or supercharge. Also a V8 swap kit too.

But I like the old British sports car set up, thank God the Japanese finally shown us how to do it. The new hard top one is nice, but not in my second car price range. I’d have a mk 2, pick good ones up for next to nothing.

If I was tall I wouldn’t entertain one, but being a whale 5’8″ I fit.

                        Great news Richard.

Pm I was about to say “How Much!” untill you said about your no claims.

I’m about to go from a personal car to a motability car. So I may have to get a second car just to keep my insurance NCB running. Looks like your NCB vanishes if you don’t use it withing two years.

So I could have an excuse to buy a little old hot hatch or maybe even an old MX5. I’ll sell it the wife as it’s saving money long term ???

Jcd  all I do is launch he TT app, then there is a small menu botton right, select the minimise option. That give you the overlay of your speed and the actual limit. Then open your mapping option of choice.

Works a treat. If Google just implemented it in maps there would be no need to run two apps. There is no reason they dont as their other say nav Waze has it. I just prefer the way Google maps sets out its lane info  better than any of the others. It’s clear at a glance. The others seem to to an extra second to get the info across. Not good when coming off/on to motorways.

I send text via voice. It’s recognition is better than my spelling anyhow.

Most of the time it’s just yes or not to a text, if I need more I’ll usually   just say ”OK google, call [person].

EE in all their wisdom, decided to set call and data baring on my phone, and my phone alone. yesterday. Made it hard to contact them given I could call or get online.

Luckily we had 3 other phones that wasn’t bared. So I could hot spot my phone form their for my sat nav, and Tom Tom app.

Spent about an hour this morning on The super quick 3mb Internet I have! In the end the only way to contact ee was via Facebook messenger. And to my suprise it was a great experience. And they sorted it with in 5 mins of my initial text.

I’ve used pay at pump for years now. Never once have I seen the system down. Even if it was the card machines too would be effected, so The station would have to let me return to pay.

On two occasion in the distant passed, I’ve filled up, to find my Doris had used my card and not put it back. It’s why I have a ‘fuel’ credit card thst lived in the car now. But on each occasion, they are fine, they take your reg and will report you after 24 or 48 hours.

That’s what I do with monzo. Apparently the money you put in pots gets some interest, and the money in your daily spend account doesnt

Ive not looked into it, but I can’t see myself using it as a saving/storage for my money.

Dave, Europe is more laid back, on peeing in public. I see loads of men, stopped by the side of the roads. I’ve seen a couple of women hiding behind their cars too.

They seem to have a bit more sense than our lot. However the French road networks are by far the best serviced roads I’ve seen. Both the tolls and the trunk roads. About every 10 miles their is a stop with just toilets and benches, and every other one, has a shop and fuel station.

Stopped at a few today, and I’ve noticed since last year, they all (or a lot) have outdoor urinals. Very strange.

I grabbed my self a Monzo card to take away with me. It’s going to be my daily driver from no on in. It’s dragged banking into the 21c.

Defo, I really like the outgoing polo 3 door. The new one is huge and horrid. The new ibiza which is the polo, is a stunner. Though a big car.

I do like the citeorn city car, rear engine, rear wheel drive. Almost a porshe. As there is no front driven wheels, it’s can almost turn in its own length too. So would make a great city car. I do love little cars. Once the kids all naff off, I’ll be happy with something little and zippy.

Seen an xr3i yesterday, they are almost city car size now, so that would be my perfect second car. Though they just arnt that quick in comparison to today’s cars. Iir the xr3i and golf gti was about 10s to 60, which is hardly brisk. But I bet it would feel quick.

To my car for a break pad swap today, about to start a 4k round trip tomorrow, and they gave me a frigging viva again. A real pos that thing is. Why anyone would opt for one over a 3 year old fiesta is beyond me.

The reason there is a load of presales atm is to do with the new way they test new cars. Any cars they have in stock they have to pre register them before sept otherwise they can’t be sold/registered without going back for the new tests.

This is the reason why atm, seat is on a two month shutdown. Thry are getting rid of what they have. Anything you order new, need to wait untill post Sept.

So you can get a load of good used (but never owned) VAG cars at a great price, a good example is the new face lift skoda VRS 220 are selling for 20k, instead of 27.5k. Loads of skoda kodiaqs (their big SUV) for 10k off.

I’m not sure why they are having to do this, but it means good savings, or a long wait for a ‘new’ new one.

You haven’t been to north Wales today have you? I was driving out of Llandudno this afternoon (coincidently to order a new car), and this fool of a driver, in the old Shape swift sport, come gluing past me, on cong traffic and I had to split to the outermost sides so the idiot didnt hit the oncoming car. (got it on my dash cam) .

There was a car 3 lengths on front of me too!

A way we hit the next roundabout and there is two entrance lanes, had he pissed me off thought I’d show him up, so I set off after him, x and past him in the other lane. But then to top himself off, he never bothered to check to see if he had space to merge, (my line was about 600m longer), if you know the road Llandudno junction roundanout on to the A55 east bound coming from Llandudno, you’ll vouch for the distance in the lanes. Well this fool, was more interested in trying to keep up, by the time he checked the traffic, he didn’t have enough space to merge and his slip roulade ran out. So he ended up on the chevrons squirming about, and nearly hitting the guy behind me who also was annoyed at what mister swift done to him just before he met me.

About 1000m up the road it drops to a 50. So muster swift caught up, and was going mental at him them me. My wife never get irate in the car, but she was fuming with him. At one point said you should stop and give him what for.

It must of been over 20 years she asked me anything like that.

It saddened me really, as we’d just been looking at swifts not 60mims earlier, and I was saying how much I’d love one. My wife not ever noticing cars, will now always remember the swift for thst bellend.

On the plus side, they are quite nippy, it keep pace with me up to about 40, and size took over. But I love me a little hot hatch.

But only let loose when it’s safe to do so. The driver should of known better, it wasn’t like he was a kid. He looked about 40. Surprised he has made it to that age.

Ordered the SEAT Leon ST FR 180 DSG, today. Quite excited, but it has a 4 to 6 moth lead time. So like many of my ‘wish’ order, I’ll of forgot about it time it arrives.

I almost let my brain win the fight, and ordered the Ioniq hybrid, loverly car, I had one earlier in the weak for the best part of two hours alone, it’s hardly quick, but I pushed that car, a bit harder than I’d normally drive, and I was amazed to see It averaged 59mpg over the 2hours. Lots of town and quick a roads and a short motaway hop (including a trip to the tip), the optional electric seats are somthing else.havingva bad back, I’d never had such fine control over so many peramitors. The stealing wheel leather is horrible, but you’d get use to it. It’s a proper sensible car.

The leon is sensible too, if you dont get the thirty engine! I’ve done it again haven’t I! The ioniq lead time is vertically nil too, they have a far few hundred Sat waiting to be sold. In almost any colour thd offer. So sales can’t be great, but it’s a new thing.

I do see these hybrids being the future, the offer the power and economy of a modern desiesel (lite the Renault 1.5cdi), while being petrol.

The poor 3cyl 1/1.2/1.3turbo eco engines, are total BS, they all claim high 60s up to 70s, and every one I’ve test over the last month or two have been mid 30s, (34-38mpg). If I’m burning fuel at that rate, I may as get a larger 2liter petrol kicking out 200bhp. I may as well get the benifit from the 35mpg.

I think they should bin the go green tree hugging rubbish, as sell these hydrods as deisel replacments. Stop making them look a bit oddball, make them look and work just like it was an normal deisel car.

A small percentage of people will base there car choice on ‘saving the planet’, but alot more make their chose base on their wallet. Sell the mpg, be honest about it, don’t say it will get 83 average, when in fact it gets about 70 if driven well. 60 if you’re a baffon. Both figure are amazing without having to lie.

Also the ioniq had somthing else I’ve never used be fore one a foot(hand break) I don’t like it, I know if catch my shin on it ofter, but the one thing I did like (well two) was the cooled seats, never Sat in a cooled seat before, it was strange, sort of felt like I’d pee’d myself, but was also very nice.

The rear seats was heated also, not cooled thought. A very well rounded car indeed. If I was a touch older I’d of probably gone with it. Well I wouldn’t ad my old man car will be a skoda suberb story’s line. A proper good car.

Wow they are some claims lol. Claims aside, I love NC headphones, since I got my bose hobbies, but given I only listen to books and pod casts, these would be perfect.

If I wasn’t going away tomorrow, I’d of got a pair. Pennies are a wee bit tight atm.
