John- I don’t make the best of passangers. So Ill always either offer to to drive, or on long trips do the lion share.

Bob, yes we are strange in our own ways, but we here may range in age, but we are similarly weird. Lol. I think it comes with being technically minded.

We can disagree on other things, but always have the geek in common.

Tbh, I don’t mind disagreeing with someone on one issue or more. I never carry it into another thread. Just like in real life, I can have an argument with the wife, but to her annoyance, as soon as its finished, I can then talk about the next subject.

Now her on the other hand, doesn’t let go so easy. I don’t understand the need to keep myself annoyed. As it’s only myself that sufferes. So I don’t see the point. As soon as I finish one topic, for me that’s it, a line is drawn under it, and I move on.

This drives my wife mental at times. She for some reason can hang on to suff for days.

I also aced that test! Was I wrong in thinging a high score was good! It told me nothing I didn’t already know.

I’m sure most of us here are on the spectrum as our interests are awfully geeky, dare I say to the average person even anal. Its all about know why and how things work. Then spending hours finding out this stuff, that in reality has no baring on our lives.

We think and say, we like it cos it’s our interest, but is it just our interest because we want the control of knowing exactly jwo things work. If any of you are like me, lack of control of situations give me massive issues.

I always put it down to the militery teaching me everything has an order, and you need a plan for evey outcome. As I’ve got older I began to think, the military was just an excuse, it’s just my nature.

Also explains why I like numbers, they don’t lie, they work or they don’t. When they don’t, you find out why.

It’s a control issue. Now if I could only get my English under control! That fight I gave up on along time ago.

Feels like counciling all of a sudden. Lol.

We have had sometign similar going on at the top of my street. We have an old railway building that is listed. It’s where the 11 houses I’m my street park, and a few others of the conecting road that leads to my street.

The council/local heritage and loto decided to turn it in to, somthing that will failin 6 moths, which is fine. What isn’t is they closed access to the car park for almost 18 months now. So all the houses cars now just get abandoned allying trh access road.

This one causes murder getting in and out at 8am and 6pm, plus means everythime the site has a delivery the builders have to go house to house door knocking to clear all the traffic once when entering then once when exiting. As there is no where else to park.

As you can imagine, sometimes people sometimes are out, walking dogs, shops etc… So the cars can’t always be moved, and on top of that, the car park they closed is a local dog walking site, so evey day propel come, jut dump their car, and walk up the path  (it’s a great track, just of the end/start of the offas dyke walk. So is popular. Very.

So the 12 month build is now 18 months in and hopefully almost done. It was anouying to start with, now its just what it is. Also as the huge wagons are not coming 6x a day any more, more 6x a week.

Tbh we are still not sure how it passed planning given you’ll never get an emergency vehicle there in any good time. Given its a one lane road and has a 180 switch back,That they can’t double yellow.

When the car park is busy, it’s a 3 point turn in a car to shuffle around.

I think it’s now dead Ed, I can’t see any of them being here in 7 years time ( a models run is a about 4-6 years. The Ellesmere port astra plant, is a gonner come the end of the 2017 astra run. (I thought this when pug group bought them tbh), but this news that Vx arm of pug is butting zero money into the the “whole of the UK, never mind Ellesmere port plan” (his words). That’s to me is doors shutting 2021/22.

BMW and Toyota both saying similar. They can’t plan for the uk, so it’s on hold, and that is ne er good in an ever changing market.

They have to plan with today’s info, all the companies mentioned have plants elsewhere, so all contracts will be going to them, all R&D and investment will be going there.

Brexit will drag on enother year in my opinion. these companies can’t survive half a years of chaos. If I was at the top, I’d already have the wind down orders ready to go, and all future plans will be in main land Europe or Japan.

We are not really that needed. We was convieniant, and we tempered them with money, land, tax cuts. They only reason they haven’t moved out is cash, and secerity.

Now we have taken away the security, the cash is drying up. We are making it simple for them.

            Cutting off our nose….

You don’t half have soem bad luck Les, I’ve not had a single ssd go bad (touch wood), and my first was a 30gb job from 2007. It’s still in use today as a scratch disk on my kids pc.

She uses it to record her online gaming onto, then copy’s back off to edit it down etc.. She fills it probably evey time she plays, which is 3 or 4 times a week. That old 30gb has had a hard life.

Especally given its first job was the day w7 lanced to use it as thd c drive in my old thinkpad. Theat took up 22gb, leaving about 3gb spare to play with. I used an sd card as overflow storage. Also for s long time I also booted mint of the SD card.

Sonce that ssd. I must of had 10 of them, keep enlarging as price drops. Never had an ssd issue. Tho I’ve only ever had one hdd issue, and that was user error, dropping the wife’s dell 1535(iirc)in about 2006/7.

Now thumb drives, they all seem to die for me!

Just catching some interviews from the motershow, and thd heads of BMW, Toyota and Vx. They all went out their way to say their is no plans to invest in the UK.

Vx was the most definite, saying the Ellesmere port asta factory won’t be getting the new EV platforms. As they can’t plan forward, in such a time of confusion.

I said 2 years ago, and a few times since, that plant will be closed when the current 5 door astra runs its course.

BMW ended with no deal brexit, will be devistating for BMW and its place in the UK.

It didn’t take a genius or a crystal ball to see this coming.

Thr saddest part is, even if we was to leave, if the gov wousl of got its shit together, minimised confusion, these companies may still of been able to keep uk plants in their forecasting.

But what’s happening is, desicions have to be made, and why we are in flux, thr uk plants are not even in the convoststion. 3 years of business meetings, decisions and deals, mean, even if we stay in the EU as we was before, I feel these plants are now dead anyway. Time has left them behind, in an ever evolving industry.

Here so some more facts of Sryia we all Knew from day one. But packaged well and even trh BBC admitting the gas attack never happensed and that the sryian protectors army was a biritsh set up force, trying to mimick the Sryia protector army (one letter difference.) with two opposing ends. The offical own is tho help, the second to hinder, and help the terrosits

The white hates have been long known to be in bed with the terrorists, theu have neighbouring bases.

This is all the stuff we got called ‘tin foil hats’ for for tha last 6 years. Conspiricy theroirsts. Not its no longer a theory, but a true illegal Conspiricy.

As I said its all about access to lands and rights to put The last part of the Saudi pipe lie in Sryia that needs Turkey. Its always about money, oil or gas. (in this case all 3)

We created the rebellion out there, so we could go in and save the day, put in a puppet head, they would grant the access  and all is good. Iirc John kerry is on record saying saudi would cover the costs for americs and friends to fix the Sryia issue (ie pipe approval)

Though given Assad is a legal and democracly elected leader, what we started was illigal. Russia being Russia, doesn’t want this second pipe line going into Europe, there Gazprom line is the main game in town, at the mo, Saudi and Qatar both have to ship gas around and into Europe at great costs. Anyhow all Russia had to do is point out the legalities, made Obama look a fool, (a public slap to the face). Putin come off as the good guy, (master Stoke Btw)

And we end up with the shit storm stale mate we have today. No matter which way you look at it we messed up, we started it, and we are the bad guys.

Also when you think, go back 10 years (-/+) and you see have the west was lording tje glamourus Assads and their jewel of a non secualr nation withing the middle east, that had free health care, schooling, equal rights  the hole lot. Then the Saudis said they will cove trh cost of getting them out of the way.

Have you noticed, saudi are now buying iirc 250bn worth of us hardware. This is the pay off,to cover the costs. Even though its a failed.

Anyhow here is the video. Don’t take my word for it, or the videos. Let this be the spring board that enlightens you to how crap the BBC is and the BS propaganda they feed us every day. (also Venezuela is a load of BS too. Biggest oil reserve in the world, they just stopped selling oil by the dollar, and they are friends with Russia. 3 strike rule)

I never liked the fack towers iirc at Upton Park, but the ground was a proper old ground. I think Everton will miss wooderson once they get over the newness of their proposed new ground. I’m so glad we never brick ground on our new stadium in 2008. For me at least, anfield is a special place. I doubt it could be recreated.

All I can say is I’m glad we now type. Started a new job today, and I needed to note down lots. An hour in my hand was killing.

Luckily there isn’t much writing involved going forwards. Also I need to spend the night typing my notes up!

Id offend someone if I gave them my written notes. They would thing I’m anciant Egyptian or Chinese.

Doctors are the great example. Remeber the days of written prescriptions. Phamasists than where more like code breakers.

Ed- that was exactly my point, the money involved in policing such a system, just isn’t worth it. As the real cost of burden on the tax pot, is probably next to nothing (relatively speaking).

They make good headlines, as it’s easy pray to unite people behind. But in reality it’s a a way to make us look away from the important issues. A typical ‘look over here, not over there’ tactic.

I am one of those that is on the dyslexic scale, went school thought the 80s early 90s, and left behind. Even though I was in Upper to middle sets (We had U123/M123/L12), so I was bright, but around a lot, as back the, my reading was awful, my writing still is, (you don’t want to see my penned hand).

I just didn’t atrent the majority of the last year of high school, worked out a system that kept my truancy of my parents radar untill about Feb or the last year.

Left school knowing I was going in the forces, started my sign up process a req months before I left. Most days I was wagging it while attending marine tests and interviews. (so I was a productive truent).

So left school with zero qualifactios not one GCSE. But I think 3 or 4 weeks after I left school I was in basic. Sadly for me 3 years lated fate decided soldiering wasn’t for me.

I can remeber the final day, as the train train pulled out the station, it dawning on me OMFG what now!

But one thing trh marines taught me that school never, was I wasn’t thick, and I had more confidence in my self. I worked for a year with the family business (building), but know it wasn’t for me. I didn’t have the back for it, for went into the office.

Soon forind out there was was back into education for thicko, and that I could get the militery to cover alot of the costs.

So I don’t an Collage Access to to university course,  Back then you had to be over 21, and needed no gcses. Basically Access, was a compressed A level course into one year, that you could pick up the ucas needed for uni entry.

The head of the course was an older lady, engilsh professor, she helped me alot, thought me more in 7 months than school ever did. I’m hardly the best writer. But with the right help, you get to see you arnt thick. You just need to find work aroumds.

Also luck, life can so much hinge on luck, sometimes chance meeting can pivot your life in half an hour.

Alot of peopel make poor decisions wen young, or don’t have the right support network to guide them some teens are just pig headed, (kids are). It just sometimes them early decisions can have echoing effetlcts on your whole life.

Some of our poorest people, are not their cos they want to be, non do, they are usally there wthiugh bad decisons, circumstance, bad luck, but what usally keeps them there is the systems in place. I know a few people that are trapped in their life and fear stepping out of their “cumfort” zone, as if one of a million things go wrong, they will be in an ever poorer state than they currently are.

I have no idea how we fix this, I’m not sure if there is a fix, but the issue are plane to see. But very few are poor cos they want to be, or poor cos they are lazy. It’s mostly out of fear of making the next step.

The saftlt net rely on, also becomes what holds them back. The benifit system to me looks lie a high wire act.

And if you are clever enough too play that system, I sort of have a bit of strange respect  as you are obviously not a fool. Thought your talents are obviously wasted.

for the reasons above I always thing the tabloid (and gov) estimates of benifit fraud has to be masivly inflated. Even the number they quote arnt that big (in the grand scheme). They are just a proportion of the nation that are an easy target.

When I hear a gov say they are going to address benifit fraud, every one cheers and agrees, and in principle we should all agree. But in reality, I think of the people that do need the help, and are about to get dragged into the “sorting the fraud out”, as collateral damage.

I do hate a headline about controlling benifit cheats. The cost of pooling this surly out weighs any savings.

Same reason we don’t enforces the laws that say we can send non working immigrants home after 3 moths. The burden of them few  people, just isn’t worth the effort and cost. Its easier, and more to the point, cheaper to just ignore it.

Yes they are rented out every day. I’ve been a good few house auctions in a hand full of grounds round the North West. Wigan has loads. I know anfield has lots of corporate events too. I know a fair few people that their companies rend out suites at anfield to impress clientele. Also more basic rooms for meetings and seminars.

It’s only match days when the corporate side side things is wound down. Then the rooms are span up in to posh ticket areas. The 300£ tickets that come with a buffet and a seat with spoung  upto full silver service and real seats. Down the latter one once (not paying)  and it was a poor experiance. Food was good, but there is noting like being in the stand.

I’m thinking this is starting to get a bit to heated. Let’s all calm down a bit, maybe get back to being geeks and talking our usual rubbish that normal people won’t talk to us about.

After all, that’s how we all ended up here.

F-the politics, its doesn’t matter which side of the line we fall on, us bickering about it won’t change the direction of the government, or other members minds, and this can only lead to members falling out, and the shrinking of our little family.

Non of us want this, let’s put this down to ‘one of those things’, eveyone has their moments once in a while. I love a rant,  more than most, which youre all well aware of I’m sure.

Yep PC is a nice bloke, always a happy soul. And got did he punch above is weight I’m the wife dept. Lol

He talks highly of stevie g, and I’ve seen a interview with him saying Liverpool was his greatest time ad a player, but he has regrets he moved on, as he wasn’t getting in the team past Torres at the time, but we torres soon left, and he usr to watch Liverpool thinking, I’d be in that team now.

I think he is a fan fav where ever he goes.

In regards to the renders of the ground the stand with the red beam around it looks almost identical to our new massive main stand. It’s probably going to be a scalped down verion (maybe not) but the design scaled down or not has loads of commercial space behind the seating. It’s very nice stand, and sell great food, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian you name it. Now in all thd other stands you get a over price over salted pie, or a hot dog and be thankful.

Tou don’t see it on TV as the cameras face away, but the stand empties at half time, it’s quite a sight. We just watch on, knowing there isn’t even enough toilets to service our stands never mixed food outlets.

All week their is alot of corporate space too that is rented out in the stand. The centenary stand (now sir Kenny stand) use to do that, but built in 1992, its date for top dollar corporate stuff.

Thr one shame about extending the old msinstsnd was its foundation and inner brick work was form the turn of the 1900s, is was small and dangerous mind under the stand, but it had character. Its now new and shiny, and yet to get a soul.

Though as BL said, carful what you wish for, thee place is shite (sorry BL), I’m so glad we went through 2008 and Gillette and hicks era, and they money dropped out, as we was days off braking ground on a new stadium in stanly Park (even closer to Everton). We was gutted at the time it went tits up, but I think extending and renovating what you have is the way to go.

It’s funny as a ground is like triggers new brush. There isn’t one stand at anfield now that was there when I first went in late 1980s. But it’s still anfield as it evolves and holds the history   Left behind. That can’t be under estimated. It’s priceless.

Man cities ground is great, but it’s like Wembley, good but shit (bit so was the old one. My favourite new grand is the stadium of light in Sunderland. A total bitch to get out of, with the single road and bridge to the motorway, bit do love that ground. Though my wife hated it there. But she can’t explain why.

But I think staying put is always the way to go. I’ll miss Everton when they move. Gooderson is a dump now, that won’t offend any blue, but I feer their move to the Kings Dock is 1. Gonna cost a billion quid, (at least). 2 it may be crap, 3 they will look almost 150 years of history (1878 iirc), and 4  most of all they will be moving out of Everton itself . It’s only 15 drive away, but I feel that could be a massive negative.

All for ab extra 15k seats, in a day when match day revenue is irrelevant to PL clubs. The world wide TV rights is the gift that keeps giving, they gould give tickets away evey week and not not notice it.

Plus I like to see and pity our shite neighbours when I go to anfield. (hehehe) you know that last line is gonna bite me on the arse this weekend. I actually like the blues, I have a lot of blue friends. And sort form Derby weekends I always favour them.

European immigrates have been a net contributor for about 15 years. They make the nation richer paying for pensions and schools. The stuff they don’t really use. (on the whole).

Bob hilter gets the flack for his eugenics, but sadly it started here, moved to the US and Hitler just err… Took it a bit far. Point is governments have wanted to do this for over 100 years.

Hitler done us a favour (no disrespect to the dead meant, truly), but Hitlers antics killed the eugenics movement dead. He made it a dirty subject.

In America around the turn of the 20C, they held county fair type contests to see who had the cleanest blood lines etc all while sterilising alot of people deemed feeble mined. There are cases of babies that come form a ‘feeble’ mind, I’d it’s second generation, they was sterilised at birth. Many grew up to be normal minded.

Sure we was at it to. I’ve not looked into it, but do know there was high parliamentary movements to fid cities of the ‘have nots’.

I didn’t read VFMs statement as I’ll willed, more he was saying ‘we have enough poor to deal with, with out adding to them.

Though personally I think if the spread of wealth should be far more even, and there is no needed for any have nots, and if we didn’t have any, I’d happily want to share the wealth with other nations poor. After all we are all human. The borders are just lines drawn by rich men to hold control over the ones inside the lines.

One of the biggest and best tricks played on man is convincing us we should fight for our own prison walls, as that’s what boarders are. They are there to control us, not to give us freedom.

Freedom is to be free to wonder where you wish.

It’s a very circular argument. Everyone has planted their flags now, so it’s not worth arguing about.

The whole is a very American thing. Politics breaks families in America, I always like the fact that pre brexit vote, we as a nation wasn’t that arsed once any election wax over, and wasn’t that bothered on the lead up to an election. The old “my vote is between me and the ballot box”  I like that approach.

I think it came down to we all equally hated both parties, whereas in America they equally love their parties.

To Americans your ever a capitalist and anything that smells of socialism is defacto communism. Where as we have a decent (a stretch I know) middle ground and understanding of social democracy. So we are all middle ground, just some to the left of to and some to the right. But the all or 95% fiit into middle ground.

We are now with brexit, further apart then the right and left of Americans. and its not nice.

I voted remain, but now I just want it over with, either way let’s just stay, leave, deal, just pick one, so we can draw a line under it and move on. All eventually hug again, and crack on.

The major lesson I’ve learnt from it is how terrible our own parliament is. I think it’s time for a huge shake up, once brexit is finished. As they have failed the nation big time.

The whole thing is broken. A revolution is needed. We need stability in reality, but that will just mast their incompetence, and keep them doing what they do. Which is not a lot it seems.

This is a must watch for anyone that is interested in the about what is happening in Venezuela and why.

You don’t need to watch it, just listen. Trust me, if you prefer facts over propaganda. Give it your time. So if anyone starts talking BBC BS about the nation you can set them straight. Also please share it. I think it’s a very worthy cause.
