Cheers guys. BL I’m all paid up on the sky sports and horse racing end. No bt sports as that’s mainly mid week games, and we don’t have Thr business for that.

Sky bend you over as it is. I vowed never to go back to sky when I got shut of it about 6 years ago. Then multi room was costing me about £115pm. I felt ribbed then I’d kill for thst price now. Its about 850pm Inc vat now ?

There is no way we recoup that  in the space of the few games per month, but if you don’t have it your regulars will wonder and maybe not come back. Sky trully have pubs over the barrel.

Also the pub is a blue pub! Evey weekend they meet before the game, have a few then get a coach to the games, then have a few when they get home. So I’m gonna be wishing for blue wind from now on, keeping them in the mood. What had my life become! I’m a traitor to my own kind lol.

They know I’m a red, and ad we may win Thr league this year, I’m playing it cool, as if I rub their nose in it, and we did go on to win, I’m sure a fair few would take their business else where.

Wouldn’t be so bad if I had a few year relationship with them, but atm I’m trying to fly under the radar in thst respect.

There will never be food ed. No room, no kitchen. Its a proper horseracing type of boozer. Mind the building has a huge (I mean huge) emty cafe on floor two. That may be opening up at some point, but thst won’t have anything to do with me.

Personally I don’t think the town centre could carry anothet cafe. There is many options form cheap to Indians and everything inbetween. Also with pubs we have weather’s that caters for cheap pub food. So even if we had space, I’m not sure it would work. Any wastage would kill it dead.

Cheers. I’m not sure if it’s brave or stupid. Only time will tell!

It sort of fell In my lap, and is a free house. But I’m now cash poor lol. But I have loads of beer. I officially take over on April 1st, so I may be a fool! Lol.

Dave is setting me up some decent cameras, as the system in place now leaves alto to be desired.

Back on topic, went for the tablet based epos system, so I grappled a cheap ipad air 2 referb only 16gb but its gonna have two apps on it, the till app and a an app for my cameras, but that will be for back up use. I’m gonna get a second cheap ipad for that when I actually have some cash.

I’ve never been poorer and I’ve inherited 3 staff and a load of bills. Wrapped it all into a ltd Co incase it all goes wrong.

            By decent I ment TheDuke@mybusinesname.co.uk

I used gmail for years, but now I’ve got a ltd I think a real email is more professional.

Luckily I got a great domain name. The pub is called The Glanglasfor, locally its known as The Glan. TheGlan.co.uk was free and cost me a whole 88p for the first year. So i’ll be using that once I set it up.

Atm I have 100 and one other things to do first.

But Contact@TheGlan etc… Fits in well with the name, and the type of place it is. What do you reckon Dave, Does it fit the pub?

Cheers guys. I’ll look into this later. Dan I don’t trust myself to run it. I could, but I’d rather someone I trust handled it.

Especally as I’m setting alot of stuff up atm.

I’ll look into g-suite and 365 biz. But would be fine by me.

According to John Redwood and Nigel Farage it’s duplicates, triplicates and Russian bots. I suppose he’d know. A lot on the march in London yesterday too. I think they were all called Boris and Olga.

Boris must of missed The page ‘show on map’.its interesting seeing what areas are signing the form and in what numbers.

From what I seen last night, it’s about 4% of the vote if from outside the UK. However alot of them could be explained by uk citezens living overseas. So I’d sab 1-2% may be bots or interfering parties.

Even if it fa’s 50% it’s still 2.5m votes on a petition. Which is impressive to say the least.

I don’t think it will change anything, as revolting A50 would of been on the debate cards, over the next two week any what. So all this petition does is give the MPs somthing to point at when they raise the matter.

this will be used as a stick to make parliament either give another ref or a ge. I’m not sure the MPs has the  balls to vote on revoking A50.

I see the Revoke A50 petition is closing in on 5m signatures.

If anyone is interested in it here it is

Let’s get it above 17m signs, just to trully mess with people. Share it around maybe.

Cheers John. It’s a strange story how I ended up with it. Drinking isn’t part of it. Lol

I think the epos softer apps just want ios 12 for security reasons/app suport etc.. Not hardware, as its only a glorified calcuater and spread sheet with a simplified ui. Has to be for there security’s on the card translation side. I dunno.

I like the sound of them minis for 150.

John as Dave said, the cctv set up can fall back to even my phone if it comes to it. All stored online, so it can’t be stolen or tampered with.

Cheers pm, I’ll look into that. Just taking over a pub, and need a note upto date till. The one we have is pronaly 20 years old half the buttons broken, have no idea how to program any changes. And is usless. Want something that will track stock and do the day to day books for me.

Been looking at a free ipad based systems and proper epos systems. They all come out around the same price. Around 800. Though a few companies will do it over 12 months, for the full systems. And an ipad system can be cheaper that the 8 if you have, or source your own ipad. Iirc they need to be able to run ios 12. (i may be wrong in thr os revision, I know noting of I devices.)

Never thought of contacting my bank (or a few others) to see if they offer  Anything.

Sorry Dave I hijacked your thread. I’ll step out now. Cheers pm.

I don’t know alot about them, other than they keep them updated for about 5 years. So I’d be looking at a 2 gen old ipad mini. The mini is the cheapest entry into the ecosystem. Also the best form factor imo

You’d get 3 years out of it. Or untill you break it.

I’m looking at maybe getting a 3 gen old full size ipad (not pro), for a epos till. You can use android tabs, but then hardware compatibility comes into the mix, and most of the stuff out there is ios aimed.

Though may get a proper stand alone epos system (swings and roundabouts) Still not decided. passed my quals yesterday Dave, so it’s all steam ahead now!

I’d use an sd card over a USB thumb drive. I don’t think I’ve ever had a sd card fail, maybe once, maybe. But usb drives, seem to die often for me.

I munched prefer a micro sd card and a USB adapter. or full sd card adapter. They usally come with most micro ad cards anyhow. The USB adapter is cheap, and more flexible.

I love the bird sounds. We have the trees on the mountain, and directly behind my how a old anandanded caravan park with trees and open ground, prime himting area. So as soon as dawn breaks they get Loud. The window is still closed arm, but it won’t be long untill it’s open untill october. I do enjoy the morning call.
