It says it has a full version of Windows (not the slimmed down RT) and has ab Intel chip. So it should work as a normal pc, just install a keyboard and mouse.

Though it will be slow. On the plus side if it doesn’t fit your needs, amazon will take it back no questions asked.

For that type of money you can get an i5 thinkpad refeb of ebay. It would smoke this thing, and be far more flexible.

I just order a tee shirt in Ruby red this morning. (maroon).

I must say I’m not a fan of the blue and red together. Both indeviduly are nice, but they don’t compliment each other well

I don’t mind a good debate, and I never carry it over to another thread. I can disagree with someone vermently on one thread, but in anther be helping them with an issue and even sending stuff in the post.

I don’t do grudges, I cda getting annoyed. A quality of mine that drive the wife mad. She can go a week stewing on a topic, I can’t go 5 mins.

Once the conviction/argument is over, for me it’s finished. I move on.

That is the one massize down side. Everthing is tracked and controllable. You could be cut off in a flick of a switch.

One wouod have to keep euro  yen or even gold as a fall back.

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A mobile phone on a bench rings and a man picks up with the speaker phone on and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops talking.

              MAN: ”Hello?”

WOMAN: “Hi Honey, it’s me. Are you at the club?”

              MAN: “Yes.”

WOMAN: “I’m at the shops now and found this beautiful leather coat. It’s only $2,000. Is it OK if I buy it?”

MAN: “Sure, go ahead if you like it that much.”

WOMAN:”I also stopped by the Lexus dealership and saw the new models. I saw one I really liked.”

              MAN: ”How much?”

              WOMAN: “$50,000.”

MAN: “OK, but for that price I want it with all the options.”

WOMAN: “Great! Oh, and one more thing… I was just talking to Kate and found out that the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They’re asking $980,000 for it.”

MAN: “Well, then go ahead and make an offer of $900,000. They’ll probably take it. If not, we can go the extra eighty-thousand if it’s what you really want.”

WOMAN: “OK. I’ll see you later! I love you so much!”

MAN: “Bye! I love you, too.”

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths wide open.

He turns and asks, “Anyone know who’s phone this is?”

Keep work on g drive and Peronal on g pics. So I won’t miss this feature, I’d not of noticed if you hadn’t of highlighted it.

Cash is The bain of my life atm, I’m banking about 4k a week and I have to feed it into a daft machine. Add to that olfd notes 20 and 50s often get refused as they have mimi folds or tears. And thd new notes 5 and 10s are just a pita, as once folded they will neve sit flat in a till, and act a springs to fire a Teh note out of the till.

Roll on killing cash off. Woudl save me an hour a week stood in the bank, holding people up, and listening to them tuting each time I pull anther bundle of 50 notes, (as that’s the max limit) pita.

Android pay is very handy. Before I got the pub got in the habit of never taking a wallet out. Backed up my emergency (fuel) visa card clipped to the sun viser in my car.

I wad almost cash free back then. Not now! Already warn one wallet out, in 10 weeks.

yep usb c all the way. rapid(fast) charging is the future, not large capacity batteries. though having both is great. but if i had to choose, id pick fast charging over larger capacity.

glad youre liking your new phones bob.

I just picked up a referb 2015 thinkpad carbon for £250 it has an i7 (can’t recall which) , 8GB ram and a 240gb ssd.

To my surprise it has one of them led function key rows that changes to other keys. Thought that was an apple first? Lol.

The keyboard isn’t deserving of the thinkpad title, but it’s a snappy little thing, and also nice and slim. Looks a bit cooler than my normal Think pads I go for. However I may end up down grading back to my old one, cjidt for the keyboard. Time will tell. It is a nice little machine though.

You get play store updates do your covered for all the major nasties, no matter the make of phone.

Actually the play store gets two layers of security. It gets scanned server side, then again at phone side, it the two check sums don’t match the phone won’t install the app.

Sevurirty patches are patchy from device to device, but it’s not the end of the world once they stop. It’s not really an issue to worry about. Unless a massive out break occurred, but by then we wousl all know about it, and Google would push a mass patch. Probably via the play service interface. That’s why it’s there, as the oems was always to slow to react, hence play services was created.

It wasnt loved when it first came out, the oems hated it and tried to say it was Google taking away control. In reality it wad Google re asserting control ad the oems was giving android a bad name.

Long story short, don’t worry about it. When it’s an issue you’ll know.

I can remeber working on the train around 04, getting online with a USB to my phone. Problay a Sony Ericsson jobbie or Samsung flip, my laptop after that had a sim slot, so I’d just pop the sim out of my phome and into my laptop. As that got a better connection than the phone/tether got.

I have found if your phone is open, you have no issue with hotspoting (tethering), it’s when your phone is locked to a provider peeps run in to issues. As the provider has their own in build apps that detect hotspoting etc.. Mainly cos they want to charge to let you do it.

Moral is alway get your contract 9hiens from carphone warehouse, and not from o2/ee/etc…
