The turn around in West Hams fortunes is really sad, this time last year, you lot was riding high, and looking forward to a great future. Sadly your great new stadium is just a cheap lie, and your right, your board actually called you customers, i think in a tweet, also they had the cheap to basically say, they want the old fans out, and a more classy fan, read prawn sandwich and no atmosphere, and lots of day trippers.

Already your being rebounded London FC, you watch small steps but the west ham name will be pushed away bit by bit.

The club is a joke, I feel sorry for the fans. I personally never mined west ham, I like the old team, but now, I really don’t like them. However they are just today biggest pantomime villas, all the clubs are similar once you scratch the surface.

Mine is ran by an investment firm, they have pulled the wool over a large portion of the fan base, people keep talking of how good FSG are financing the new stand. But in reality they loans LFC x million at a nice rate of return, and once they sell they will get about 55% of the added value. Already they have turned iirc 400m club in to aprox 1.1b, with out spending a penny. We have made a profit in transfers for God sake!

You are correct about the uk subs dwindling, sky are terrified, as you say the under 40s are not taking sports subs out, and the under 25 are not even   taking basic sky out.

I hope China takes off massively and they too stop buying into EPL as the money that they pump into the league makes sky and BT look like porpers. So even with sky’s demise, I think the troth of cash is still going to be strong for another 20 years.

I’d love nothing more that the TV bouble to burst, and all the billions to pee off, for the fans to gain back control. A fair few big clubs would go down, but I’d be happy with that, even if it was Liverpool, I’d be happy in the thinking that we would come back stronger. Maybe not in league position, but in a closer fan/club relationship. Tho with China American and the Middle East pouring cash in, I can’t see it happening for a long time.

In Germany you have to have a 55% or 51% fan ownership, it keeps the billionaires away, and the clubs more grounded. It’s a great setup.

You couldn’t carry the sa80 from L to R Bob, right hand jobbie only.

There is mythical unicorn left handed models, but I don’t think they ever made it out of the trails stage. Some say they have seem some in the wild, but I doubt it true.

For the sa80 you need a good right eye. If you tried to fire from the left, the automatic cackling handle with rip your cheap open and deposit some warm brass in your mouth

Mt FiL is a left had shooter as he has a dickie right eye, in today’s infantry, well I can only talk of Marines, it a no go if you don’t have a near perfect right eye.

I had a guy that come from St helena, he was a GB youth athletes, fastest guy I’ve ever seem run, and had the most English name I’ve ever heard, Martin Henry, super nice guy, turned out he had some 1m:1 eye fungi issue. Navy sent him all round the county, even London private practices, but he had to be discharged. Also know an N Irish  lad, that it turned out was allergic to gun oil, so he was out.

My laguna had a wiring issue, where it would cut off the power at 2000rpm to save itself.

It took my mechanic many hours to track it down to a loose wire in one of the sensors iirc air mix one, that wound intimately come loose, and the car would o into limp mode.

Once it was identified, it took a 5 sensor stopped of one in the crap yard, and 30mins labour yo cut the bad connector   off completely and solder the new second hand one on.

Renault was saying it it would cost 100s or more, my mechanic. Charged me £15. Didn’t e en charge for the hours it took him to narrow it down.

Also back in my youth, I blew piston out the top of my escorts rocker cover, trying to do 90 with 6 adults in it going to Blackpool. It limped to Blackpool and back ok, then my local garage wanted £750.

my dad’s friend owned a back street ‘dodgy garage’, but as look would have it, he had an escort 1.4 rocker cover, left over form sonthing, and he swapped it out and cleaned the oil out of the bay for £30. Took about 30mins, only called in for a price.

That was the only issue I ever had with that old 1991 escort. Never spent a penny on mot’s. It just worked, good old simple engineering.

Edit- I forgot, I also ripped the breaks out of it, going to quickly over a speed-bump when you get overloaded. The next junction was a fun. Can’t recall how much that cost, but it would of been cheap.

The issue with sealing cars with products is most of the cars  now have are double skins of pressed metal, so once an ingress point rears it’s head, your basically sealing the moister inside and rotting the car from the inside out. Same with box chassis.

I think in the 70 a number of cars in America had a paid option of an ‘underseal’ and basically it destroyed  the cars as done what I described above.

I hate the phase “they pompously call Fan Network”

The fans are looked down on today, they are see as customers that should shut up and enjoy their lot. They forget, it’s the fans that collected tilly put every penny into the game, and these fan ran networks, go evey game, and live their lives through the club, their opinions are much more educated than some reports that could er the whole league.

Sky is losing thousands of subs monthly, so much so they have stopped releasing the metrics. The fan channels are growing and growing, some in the 100of thousand subs, and have videos that get half a million views per episode, releasing more than one a day. Their reach is almost that of sky’s, and more than most national papers. This fan sites and stations are the future.

If you actually think about it, all they are is an e opinion of the FanZine. for thoughs mot in the know, most clubs have or did have a fan based programme am, usually sold for a faction of the official l club one. The Liverpool one is really good, atm it’s about on the same page as the official cal one, apart from the FSG out brigade is growing (I’m one of them). But when times was rougher, hodgeson or Roger, the FanZine, reflected the club far truer then the official polished programme.

So I’m a fan of fan TV, and most clubs have at least one. Their is a network that is trying to create a platform for all teams to be in one place, help the smaller channels grow called Ball Street on YouTube, it’s quite good.

Ed, the weapon follows your eyes, not the other way round. That way as soon as you see, you raise the weapon 5 to 10 degrees and fire and fire. You can’t miss.

It’s where the saying “a weapon is an extension of your arm” if you can point at something you’ll hit it every time. Almost.

You walk pivoting at the hip, so your shoulders  follows your head. It’s why you see in films soldiers walking with bent knees, and sweeping side to side from the hip. It’s a very natural and silent way to manover, once you have done it a couple of times.

A long barrel in the jungle isn’t great, as I said the jungle was the only setting where we was trained that shooting from the hip was better

This wasn’t because shooting fron the hip is better than the shoulder, and not because you would hols a se on dart grip. It was because you would support the weapon on the strap,( something Marines very rarely do)  holding the weapon with one hand on the pistol grip, because you would have a machete in your second on hand.

I can’t see an advantage for the stubby one, the origanal sa80 was consider tiny, this may be smaller, but if you take the sa80 accuracy away form it, your left with a rather shitty weapon.

I just can’t see, how that small thing would work if you come under fire, you’d hit the deck, and be left with a crappy weapon, have to lean on your gpmg fire support man. As you will know he is always the first targeted, so when he goes your screwed.

You may as well go all out if size is all your basing buying decisions on  and grab an uzi.

I’m talking theoretical when it comes to the jungle, I went the way of artic training, opting to not visit the jungle, give I’m scared of house spiders lol. But still I think I’m quit qualified to have an educated opinion. You learn the basics, just 3000miles away from the dam place. Artic is great, noting that crawls lives, and I don’t mind the cold, I’ll take it over the heat any day.

I’ve never heard of that stubby one ether, I don’t think I’d like it, what’s it range? This it must be a mute point, it defo isn’t designed for range. The the MV must be very low and a steady aim wouldn’t be easy I suspect. The Susat or any optics seems a waste.

More of a spray and pray weapon..

I bet you was at a loss when I get I said above, the new a2 looks like a short A1 SLW, as that stub nose couldn’t be further from it.

Anyhow I’ll attach below the weapon (a2) my BiL says he uses, and also the (a1) I used, but with a Susat. The iron sights was dropped after our first APWT in week 4 iirc.

Though when he first joined 11 years ago now, he was still using an a1 but it has a teardrop cooking handle, and also different dust cover to the a1 I used. That’s why I ment by its many versions.

No a good 30 of commando trying is in urban environments, holding at the hip is very cumbersome. If your in an urban environment and you have the weapon on your hip, it sticks out in front of you you can’t get around corners, in a stealth manor, at least when at the shoulder, you can hold the weapon almost vertically down, perpendicular to the body this also helps with silhouetting (one of the major 5 rules of camo you live, and die by).

As to blocking peripheral vision,  no, the weapon is held in the shoulder at a about a 45 degree down, more 30 degree, but not at a 90 horizontal, on the cheek, that is you second shot.

Robin- what a horrific weapon, it just looks wrong. Is that the old susat it has, I thought they was long gone now?

Wenger, I dislike alot, his football is good, or was many years ago, but I dislike him for him being so one sided, he and he alone, ushered in the “I didn’t see that” and blindly backing players when it’s clear to all the opposite was true.

I wouldn’t mind if it was just him, but his set the standard that all managers followed. José was different, I loved his arrogance but that caught him up, but I’m happy we now have alot more honest managers, in the league, that will say, “we was shit today”, well klopp is the only one that swears in interviews, but many more are more honest. They protect the players, but call the team and themselves out when things go wrong.

It’s taken 20 years to get rid of pr related interviews, and I’m liking it. Just look an any player interview of the last 20 years, they are boring, alway they say the same line, “its good to score bit I’m more happy the team won” I hate that stock answer, I’d much prefer them to say “did you see my goal, how F-ing good was it”, just show they are not robots.

I hold wenger accountable for all this. I’ll start liking Arsenal again once he leaves. I do fear they may slip down the table though when he leaves, and that’s the issue the club has no ambition.

I think in 2010 wenger said, coming 4 is like winning. And that’s the problem, Christ I’d lid to come 4, year on year, but it comes to the point where you have to push on. They have had 20 goes at Europe, and never cracked it, they have won just 2 fa cups in 11 years. The club are happy with 4th, and that’s the problem. 4th equals Europe and the tv money it brings.

But for the last 4 years the fans, started small, but they are gathering pace, they want a change, they want the owners to spend, they want to push on.

If they would of bought a sticker last winter, like everybody said, they would of walked the league. But no wenger is to stubborn.

Funny I’m going on about this, and would kill for a top 4 finish. But I can see their fans are fed up of mediocrity. It’s all relative, I’m sure you would kill to be in the top league, and a 17th would do you.

Robin, it may be of finally the second gen, but the first gen was fettled with a number of times, and has the offical second H&K version.

I was using a ‘fixed’ on in 97, it’s been ‘fixed’ since, having a major overall. I don’t look of the current one, looks more like a shrunken LSW we carried back in the day, which was a decent weapon, but again being a longer SA80 of the time it suffered blockages and higher the average firing pin failure.

The new one, hopefully better, just isn’t as sleek as the original. My BiL says, and I can’t belive this true for infantry, but recons is a he rails on the current SA80 is to mount a forward grip, to so you can carry on the hip on patrols. Now to me that was the the opposite to what we was taught

A rifle shold be carried in the shoulder held at about 45 degrees, and the weapon follows your head, so you pivot at the hip. My BiL recons now you carry at the hip, with the weapon at 90 degree, so you can get a shot of faster AND, now this is what I think it’s about, it makes it easier to carry.

He recons its impossible to carry at the shoulder for hours on hour with out tiring, so of true but but not. So I think it’s an Raf thing, as the only time a marine carried a weapon (a short sa80) at the hip is in the jungle.

I’d like to hear of someone current serving in the infantry about this, as it just can’t be true.

The rifle is an extention of your arm, of your hips and head is points in the direction of an enemy you can’t miss, while holding it in the shoulder. I’d think holding it at hip level with a side mounted forward grip, it would make you hold the weapon at a slight angle, so unless the target that surprised you was within 25meters that first shot would miss, then you would put the rifle into the shoulder, let go of the side grip, to pace your hand on the barrel guard grip, all to get the second more accurate shot off.

If you had it already in the shoulder, the first ‘surprised un aimed’ shot would likely hit upto 75-100meters, but then you get that secone shot off almost immediately.

But my BiL recons it’s to tiring to carry in such way. I know it not, I spent probably weeks of my life patrolling in that way, sometimes for days at a time, with next to zero rest. 20 years on, and my muscle memory can still ‘feel’ that stance. Even though the muscles have gone. So I have to believe this is something non front line troops are thought. Otherwise something is truly broke.

Think I mentioned this on MM when it first come to my attention.

A gear quirk of “ok google”, it doesn’t work if your phone is locked.

To fix this for car use, conect it to your cars bluetooth, and you the BT ad a “smart unlock” ie they BT device keeps the phone unlocked.

Of you don’t have a BT connection in your car I can highly recommend this

If you get wet windows, is to do with air flow rather than rad placement. A lot of older houses suffer from bad air flow.
