My daughter couldn’t wait for the new £150 Nokia, so I got her the Moto g4 like her younger brother. The Moto G(4) though more expensive than the origanal, which I loved, I think this year they have got back to having a solid phone at a great price.

There maybe a couple of similar spec devices for a tad cheaper, but i have had many cheap moto G v1 (x2), had 2x moto E (4g)2015 and recommend  to 3 others, and we had one (untill today) moto g4, all have been excellent bare bones stock performers.

The G4 is the first to feel a touch premium too.

I thought versions moto g v2 up until the G4 lost its way, wasnt good enough for its spec, at the price they was asking. So I truly thought the Moto E 2015 4g variant at £75 was a true successor to the origanal G. Well the original WF swift, at £120 is what moto should of made, but they made a similar phone and wanted about £160-180 at a time when the 1+1 was £199 (the +2 was just released) so you could recommend the G v2 and 3, over the 1+1.

Today the 1+3t is £399 and worth every penny, it’s closest competitor is the pixal and in 128gb spec it’s £800. So the Moto -G4 again sits in a nice price pocket. The G4 plus just doesn’t offer enough to warrant the price bump and the moto G4 play, seems decent for every day folk, but it’s called 4play! What was they thinking.

The name only dawned on me, when last night I asked my 19 daughter did she want the 4 play or the 4, which she laughed and I went red. Thanks Moto!

No John. One machine with two monitors. At the moment and for 10 years I’ve have ran them the tradition way, but this just thinking outside the last night.

I am planning a new set up for the lads room. Even before I posted the above question I’d realised  it was only going to be hypothetical. But it’s good something to play these thought experiments out. You never know what you’ll find.

Lol, Dave, I have then I’m gray but in a trainer, with a steal toe cap, I was given then about 2001 buy a friend that was issued them at work, but he didn’t like then. I still use them to this date for home improvements, like when I took the walls down, and when I built the new wall 9′ around my “borrowed” back land.

Borrowed as my back yard was about 10 feet in depth, then a big drop off, but about a 10foot ally way, untill the mountain falls away. All the other houses had “borrowed the land, just leaving a metre, so I pushed my wall out to, so we could have a small lawn. One that grass refuses to grow on! You win some you lose some. It will flagged one day

Two pics of my new garden, it was straight to the edge of the shed when we moved in. The grass is long gone sh*Ty.

I had a couple of jackets like them, I can’t recall the make, snug pak, pack lite (though that was my old berghaus so wasn’t pack light,  bit similar,  they was great, very warm and the whole item retracted into its own pocket.

not cheap, but the RM issue  ‘ho chi minh’ warm weather suit was terrible, Bob may recall them. The pants was worse. They was crap, and took up a ton of space in the began, so would never even make it into a patrol sack. With the pack light snugly, you good just put that in your parrot back ad your gortex outer bag. No need for a sleeping bag. More room for ammo and rations.

Lol it was Snugpak softie’s. I’m an idiot.

Though looking at the current ‘sofites’ the old ones wasn’t quilted, looked more like the one you linked to. But then they was deaf softies. I bet they was the first they did. Mid 90s it was.

Been about 48h and the pixel hasn’t through a wobble. So I think it’s fixed. Strange how whatever extra bit you needed to do only elected a few devices.

mine is like a neoprene material, best I could describe it, it is truly a great and tough coat. Bought it spare of the moment as I was helping on one our our houses, and only had an old Canterbury tracksuit on, as I was in the builders que I spotted it, in an end of line sale, and I felt the coat, and being all black, I knew it would make a good car boot dog walking jacket.

If you was to check my boot you’d find the coat with dog bags and biscuits in the pockets plus the have the open backed inside pockets to put your phone on a wet day so you can run the earphones up the entire of the jacket. This I use BT ones there days. They was sci-fy in 2008 lol.

They are great coats mad for workmen out doors. So normal life they should last forever, as long as the wife doesn’t shrink it  😉 not sure you can shrink neoprene lol.

I have a duckies coat all black jobby was £45 about 10years ago. My other main coat was second hand just over ten years ago from America, think I paid £75 deliver. A Vietnam combat jacket, real thing got it before the ‘fakes’ became stylish. Also i have my berghaus, never been without a berg since I was about 10. My latest is 3 years old.

The dickies one it lives in the boot, and I use when working outside, the Nam one is my main jacket, and the berg for when it rains, which is often on the coas this time of the year.

But mostly I’ll be found in a fleace, I have many berghaus fleeces, not the expensive windproof ones, the £20 jobbies, in differnt colours, tho I have 4 black ones in various straights of fadedness. I’m not the ‘coolest’ of dressers. Conbats/jeans and fleece, I’ll be found in when I don’t need to don a tie. Which I hate.

However I think the wife has changed the washing power as  all my coats seem to be shrinking ?

This is the dickies jacket, £40 in my local builders yard about 10 years back

£200 isnt much for a decent coat. A coat is like boots and mattress,  invest wisely.

Unless lastpass has my ee details, I don’t think I could now get it without calling them, and that isn’t going to happen anytime soon.

That’s why I won’t spend more than a few quid on the slow boat. Basically I see it as punts, if the product is rubbish it gets binned and a bad review. However I have found on the od occasion something is afoot, even in relays or such, they will tell you to bin it, and get a replacement out to you faster than the origanal.

Put I always choose sellers with a long history, ligit seller are terrified of negative feed back. I can’t really a time I’ve contacted a seller with an issue, and not had it resolved withing 24h. But still I would trust spending a lot on long distance.

Last need I seen a new coat on an eBay video, I asked the content owner could they find out the name of the coat, they got back to be fast, it was a Makia jacket, but was last year’s range, and I could only source it in Russia, I’m not sending 207 euros to Russia. I’ve found a US site that was out of stock, and give them my email to notify if they get stock. I just can’t trust that kind of money to Russia.

Doc- So your friend buys a new sim everything it runs out, or tops up the same sim?

You have lost me? If it’s the prior, that seems a strange approach to take, if the latter,  one amount should suffice.

Wouldn’t you need to log in to see your current stats. It’s the same with most networks.

Now that Talk Talk is all unlimited (land line this is) they have removed there usage monitor altogether. This saddens me as I use to like seeing of obscene amounts of date my house guzzles.

As with the two mobile networks we use EE, terrible o life site, t-mobile was excellent, and Giff Gaff, the best online network, so simple to port numbers to new card in one click of a mouse. Not like any other I’ve encountered, but both networks show your usage once you log in and tell them your account.

GG though send you an email at the end of the month telling you of your usage the previous month. I get all the kids usages as I pay and manage them, it’s helpful as I can see if I need to increase or decrease that they with GG help. They want you to feel like they are looking out for you.

Also on the same day, I got an email of EE saying price in great by 2.5%. And one from Giff Gaff saying we are now giving extra mins and data to all tariffs. I know which provider I like the best!

I did thing it stat age you dropping £350 on a phone, in the middle of probably the most expensive part of your life so far. I done the move about 15years ago, and it wasn’t cheap, not quotes as far as you just 60miles, but the distance isn’t really the expensive part.

I don’t buy anything of value off ebay. My cut off point is £50. I’d rather pay the extra on Amazon for peace of mind.

Do buy alot of Amazon, just bright a new batch of neodymium magnets having almost used the last batch for the sum of £1.98for 100! I also buy all the arduino boards and sensors, motors, resistors etc,  from UK sellers if needed fast, but mostly on a slow boat for peanuts.

The great thing about the slow boat is I forget I’ve order the stuff by the time it arrives. It’s like Christmas when opening the surprise packages.

The seller replied the item before I seem it, what was it and how much?

I was going to say for that money get the 1+3 all day, put it looks like the 3t has fully replaced it now. Shame. The 3t is alot of phone for the cash, but £50 above your budget.

Also i find it a bit ugly with the front Samsung esk button. I’d struggle to hand over £400 for it, even though it’s probably the best device on sale atm. Thats without taking into account price.

The nexus 6p is now selling for around £350, that share the same camera as the pixel, and is the best low lowlight snapper in the biz atm, the phone is superb, though if you rate video capture its lack of image stabilisation lets it down badly.

Ether way the £350 spot seems to be the sweet spot for a stinking hot device atm. Last years good stuff, is still fantastic stuff.
