Think you’ll find manning blew the whistle on the personal picks being sent round the offices.
The sentence on him was disgusting and an all time US low, well not quite slavery, but still unbelievable, and was all just part of the war on free speach that the Americans have been under for the last decade.
The sentence was unbelievable given Coldwar spies was give a small fraction of jail time that he got. The whole Obama administration was discussing and has many echos of TB and new labours stint her.
Llickilly for manning and Obama commuted the sentence and they look like to be out in may. I still think he will of spent more time behind bars than any other US convicted spy/traitor
Hopefully now Snowdon gets welcomed home by his country as a hero for outing the illegal non constitutional dealings of an un policed, above the law NSA. The people should of been positioning his treatment long ago.
Ad an ex service man I understand the diffence between whistle blower and traitor. and greatly respect a person then stood up for what they believed live, know it will come a personal costs. Bit it should have to.
Manning staggers the line, of the two, but by giving the docs to an outside forign agency, in the way he did, I think he does come under traitor even if he was doing it for good reason, just cos how he went about it. Though his sentence is no in line with any president set before him.
Don’t get me started on the TV tax.
Though this new TG had been good. Preferred it to GT tbh.
What has always confused me, since moving from adsl2 to FTTC I no longer need to log into TT via the router. No username or password.
My details must be hardwired to the white BT box. As I just plug any router In to it and ir works.
My ‘wan connection type’ is set to. ‘Automatic ip’

- Here are the options as well as’ ‘automatic ip’

Does FTTC still come with the white ‘BT open reach’ boxes?
Even if I buy a router that is capable of doing away with the white box, I’ve never been given a log in for my TT FTTC account.
I’m now just wondering if they would simultaneously give it me over the phone. I’d assume they would.
I agree. My comment was in response to the suggestion that the shows can be watched via Kodi.
Sorry. Totally agree, if everyone didn’t pay then nothing would be made. I struggle with football. It’s the one area that is now so fragmented even if you want to pay sometimes you can’t and have to revert to streams.
I tried so hard to subscribe to Aljazeera sports, now BeIN sports, fantastic coverage of all European football, but region locked, I can easily vpn into an unlocked region, but couldnt find a way to pay them their £25pm So I fail!
I pay BT storts now, lasts season it was impossible to pay BT for the football, without either BT broadband or a sky TV subscription, two things I don’t have, but now they opened it up. And I use Now TV passes for sky games, but still the Saturday 3pm games are not aired I think the UK, so an illegal stream it is. Now if BeIN would accept my money I could watch semi legally, ans put some money in the premier league purse, but hay, I’ll only go so far to give someone money.
What the Prem doesnt see is that by not showing 3pm games, it makes people figure out how to get free football. Then what stops them deciding to not bother paying for the avalible games.
The Prem and its partners are actually doing themselves a long term disservice by not making Every football game avalible live. They should sell all access passes, to all games, season ticket passes to your teams games, and a day pass.
They should approach Google to do it on YouTube, as not only would the passes work, Google can sell way more adds per game than sky. Sky has say six add breaks per game, so a max of about 18 advert slots per game. Now Google could sell 1000s of targeted adds, give people tailored adds. Targeted adds are more expensive than as they have a greater impact than blanket adds, so in theory Google should be able to sell more adds (monetary aggregate) value than sky can.
Ive thought this for years, the only company that could out bid sky and BT is Google, the are in the perfect position. Maybe they are waiting for the Sky and BT money bubble to burst. I reckon it’s about 8 years off.
As to series and programs we should all pay up. Though, if I’m watching someting on C5 app, I find it likes to crash and be all round crap, so Ive been known to start a programme on the app, get pee’d off and finish the show off on kodi. It’s been a while tho, I probably haven’t launched 4 or 5 in over a year.
But will soon as I want to watch Mutiny. Looks good. They have spent some money on YouTube adds.
@Jason I agree, and sub to way more than I should, including prime, which I think is a good deal jus and for the Customer service, never mind all the perks, but if Amazon has made a clerical error, I see no harm in taking advantage.
4k files are stupendous. The but everyone should record in 4k if they can. Though 1080p, shouldn’t look bad in 10 yeas, like recordings and digital photos do from 10 years prior. :negative:
I took the kids to see Liverpool bring home the champions league trophy to the city. The photos look like I took them on a potato
Black sails Is a History made show, the episode comes live on Amazon shortly after it airs or History.
Monday it comes live on Amazon, so I’ll assume it airs sunday on TV. It seems like a Sunday prime time show.
Not seen this week’s yet.
Sadly Im not wise enough to spot the router setting that is the culprit!
Your probably on the money Dave, there was a firmware update about a month (or so) ago. I bet that altered it. I have an asus RT-AC66U, running asuswrt version 3.0.0.4.380_4180-ge57f472
I’ll look I to it. What is your router @tippon?
PM unless you phone takes 16mp photos full size back up to google photo is free.
I think upto 1080p video is also. May be wrong on that.
With the pixel you get any size phot unaided for free and 4k video. I now upload all my dslr photos via the pixel so I get the full 22mp photo for free.
In the past Ive only uploaded the great snaps at full res, and the rest at 16mp.
For thoughts who don’t know, buy free we mean, doesn’t eat into your allowance. Though I blasted past my free (monetary) amount 25gb iirc years ago.
Over the years Ive had bonuses, Ill have to check if I’m in a ‘bonus period’ but I pay £1.99 (change to GBP last month) per months for some (?.?) amount of extra space.
Update – Not in a ‘bonus period, I have a total of 118gb so I must pat for 100gb and the 18gb is the basic. I’ve currently uses 48gb of my allowance. It’s mostly photos from pre free back ups. The picasa days.
I can’t see a part related to this ed. I may of missed it tho
The issue isn’t that wifi turns off, it’s if your router loses Internet ed connection, the OS kicks you off the network and won’t let you rejoin it until the router has an Internet connection again.
In windows10 it is silly it is set to this by default and it must be fixable.
Black sail is an adaptation of treasure Island. It’s really good. I’m up to date now, and have to wait weekly for the episodes to drop, like the olden days.
It inspired me to read treasure Island last month. That was rubbish, so if you dont like the book, don’t worry the show is good. The first couple of Eps are average, but once it gets going its very good. I watch the whole 5 years worth of episodes in about 4 weeks!
With Mr Robot I’d stop after season 1, that is awsome, season 2 just didn’t love up to season 1.
Vikings again, I didn’t think was as good a Black Sail, but in stages I think it’s better, vikings has more story lines going on. Some of the plots are good.
Over all 3 good shows.
Another good’n of you like dry black humour real Noire, something the Americans usually can’t do well is an Amazon production called ‘The Patriot’ its about the mundane side of a spies life.
Amazon do pilot’s each year and let the views vote on what gets made, I was blown away by the pilot of this, and it took 2 years for the season 1 to appear. It was only Feb 17 it arrived and I watched the lot in 2 nights. Real dry, on a weird way it had the office (uk) vibe about it. Without being anything like the show.
Yes yes yes yes. Android at least 7+, totally kicked me off the router. Now at night in bed thus is a pain as usually I just need to reboot the router, but if you can’t connect I can’t remotely do it.
I’ll pick up my laptop and cos it’s in 10, that won’t connect either.
Ive found if I pick up a second phone, but don’t try to access the Internet ie reload a page, it will be connected so I can reboot the router.
It’s so annoying, it use to just say connected with no Internet , now it just boots you. So so so F-ing annoying.
You triggered me lol.
Come to think of it 6+ also does it as the wife’s P9 does it.
The Amazon gift cards are the ones to look out for. 10%of 50 or 20 off a £100. If your about to buy somthing, buy the gift card, they instantly send you the voucher code, then input it to your account and buy the goods. It takes seconds but save a great deal.
I’ll usually buy the Amazon ones as they come up, knowing I’ll spend them. I spend alot via Amazon.
I’ve currently got over £50 in credit on my play account, never bought any of it, all pronations.if you look out for it you never have to spend real cash.
The best one was when Google partnered with Kitcat, the £1 multi packs of KK come with £5 play credit. So I cashed in on that big time, my N6 came with £25 credit and my Pixel with £50 credit. I can’t seem end it faster then they give it out.
The GBA was good we had a couple, the last one was the Tattoo ed. Had the same ink as Iron Mike on the back.
We had a load of DS’s thanks to the brilliant cheap unlimited warranty that Game offered.
The DS was so successful as it was cheap and pre smartphone becoming good. The 3ds I see was quite expensive, we never had one the kids had moved on to phones and tables by the time the DS’s all finally past. We had an edge cards and the kids used the DS as media players on long euro trips. As well as the odd rom or two ?
The switch had sold well at launch I can’t see it being a long term success, I’m seeing the Wii all over again.
I can’t say I noticed any discomfort with the DS, but tbh I never played it long term, the kids never moaned though.
I’m really enjoying reliving my gamboy youth. I saved up all year to buy my GB from Andorra as it was about half the price. When we got there my mum bought if me. I wad happy but dead pee’d off at the same time. But it did afford me to buy a few games and the most important add ons for the gamboy, a power plug and the nightlight. Andorra was so cheap. I went back this year probably 25 years later, still cheap, but the now had gone, even though it was about the same time of year, and the place stunk of stale dog pee. Full of posh people with little time house dogs pissing everywhere.
I see now you can actually by a proper back light panel and install it inside, behind the gameboy monochrome screen really easily
Back to emulators, I also tried of a 64 one and tried Mario, which worked OK, and golden eye. Golden eye doent hold up to my fond memories of it.
The gameboy does. I think it is because the GB games was from a simple sprite era which is now a relic, it was probably the hight of its era, where as the N64 was at the beginning of the new 3d era, and it it just so dated now, and just not very good.
Before they cotton on watch Black Sail and vikings. Especially black sail.
Though Mr Robot is probably the best thing on there.
We had a single first gen psp, I never liked it, and my son that had I’d shelved it for a pod touch of all devices.
However on a related note I put on an origanal gamboy emulator and borrowed a couple of roms that I had as a kid.
Super Mario world, wario land and bugs bunny castle game. I’m enjoying Mario and the fact that you can do many saves on the emulator.

I can’t see AR or VR becoming mainstream any time soon, for the consumer market it will go the way of 3D.
There are many areas where it will be useful professionally, but I think it has all the pitfalls if 3D tv and some, plus a higher cost of entry.
Also in this rare case, I think the completion will be what kills it, the devs will all choose a platform, spreading the devs thin. When there is little software, there is slow adoption, and when slow adoption devs slowdown drop off too. And
With ARVR R&D being so expensive, and the way the markets are, they will need to be a hit out of the gates. Investors and or shareholders will only allow so much money to be ploughed into projects.
If there was just one horse for the devs to jump on, I think it would have a better chance. Which goes against the usually trend.
@tippon, I got a Samsung one off Amazon, there was little in the price especially when you consider how long they last.
We are still on the original, the replacement is in the office somewhere ready for when it goes. I’m almost paperless bar invoices. So the majority of prints is kids homework, which is little, and Disney pictures for my girls to colour in.
So far this samsung has been very good. And it has nfc so the wife can print off it to, by taping the phone against the printer, so I don’t get summoned when she needs stuff.
