Il most Routers Richard will have a list of devices (or Mac addresses) that have contacted. It keeps a record as every device is give a unique address 192.168.0.(1-255)

In my router at least you can change the mac address of the device for a more memorable name such as Richards desk top, Richards phone, wife’s laptop, kids tablet, lounge tv, bed 1 tv, and so on. This makes seeing new device entries easy.

Ive done this, as it also makes it easier to schedule what times the router cuts my kids access off. As my 15 year old will sit up all night on line. So weak night he is cut off at 20:00 to 06:30, my 9year old at 19:00 to 06

I’m a fan of taking all the infrastructure back in to stat ownership, but I’d love to hear how the hell he thinks he could do it.

I actually like his proposals, I just think there is less than  no chance f him being able to do any of it.

It could be fun though. If he was to win, big if, it could be the last labour government for a generation or two.

I’m all for letting it burn. That’s why I wanted Scotland to vote for independence, just so I could watch.

Maybe it is time for a major shake up in the uk. As a tory government will be more of the same. The safe but boring bet.

Either way, I can’t see labour winning anything. Had 24 hours or so of live TV over the last two days, and it seems the media hate labour.

And my god, how do normal folk put up with live TV. It is not a fun experience.

Luckily I had a few films on my phone, and oh my ‘the grimsby brothers’  is one funny film. Not usually a fan of his movies, but this one had me laughing all the way through.

I think it’d a great, and cheap way of implementing a big network.

I’d get a shennheiser as I’ve been with them for years get whatever they have at around £40. I have had 3 Pair, still got 2 wife broke one of the pair. They are rock solid, but little is my wife proof.

However I would probably get the audio technica below.

            Audio-Technica ATH-M20X Professional Headphones – Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HVLUR18/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_CkbfzbVEFYH5A

But I do like the look of these too.

In the USA there is a law thst if you secure your WiFi poorly and some gets on and runs up a bill, it’s on your head. If you leave the box (router) how it came the bill is on the providers head.

Very much like here, if you shovel the snow outside your house and some trips, your culpable, but if you leave the snow, it’s not your fault. I think in the US you are responsible  to clear the snow.

So alot of people don’t secure their WiFi, for this reason.

Many providers in the US, and I think BT now do it here (I’m not with BT), let people connect to any BT hub, with is a great idea. I’m sure the extra data strangers use doesn’t count against your personal data cap. It would be a simple thing to set up, basically a guest network.

I suppose this could be an issue if you lived in a city or town centre, where your bandwidth could be eaten up, but I suppose the guest network is throttled. That’s easy enough to do, I can do that with my router, on a network basis and on a device basis via its Mac address.

For years I kept an ap open, but as phone WiFi reception has got so much better, I can pick my own WiFi up on my Pixel and 6p from a good way away.

Thanks for the good wishes gents, all seems OK atm.

Les, I’ve just out and about, and the area is very nice. One issue, I’ve never seen as many speed cameras in my life. We have two in my whole area.

The hotel is off the high street. It looks nice, but inside its stuck in The 70s, smells and grubby.

There is a few hotels in the area, but I’d go premier Inn, you can’t really go wrong, and even the older ones have them beds in. With are the best beds bar non.

The one I’m currently lying on is an old, and tired, sprung mattress.  :negative:

Not good for a guy with a goosed lower back.

Was in man today at the Christie ozzy, currently  In the worst hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure to be in, somewhere in Stone, near Stoke. I’ve been in some rat holes in London years ago. But this takes the biscuit. Got moved out the first room as there was a half eaten curry down the back of the bed! Looked like dog mess.

It has the yesterday channel so not all bad, I suppose. I’ve Forgot how good the old war docs are. Been a long while since I’ve had live TV.

Love the ‘world at war’ series.

I think alot of chest issue is simple down to out damp climate.

I like in an area of low pollution, my boy has bad asthma, buy evey year we go away to the continent, Spain and Italy are the best, and his asthma all but clears up.

Now word of a lie, evey year with in an hour of exiting the ferry his heavy breathing returns. Last week I collected ted him fro Liverpool (rip off airport). His nan said his chest has been “brilliant” (she worries), in the hour drive home, he was back k to his normal self.

Ive met uk couples in Spain southern Spain, one from Norway also,  that had moved to the dryer dryer climate because of their children’s chests

If you decide to run your own domain for email you may want to use a service like MX bulldog. You change your mx value to route all your mail through MX Bulldogs spam filter, leaving your with the clean stuff in your inbox, and a seperate spam folder.

Their rates are cheap to at $0.25 per address per month.

What ever you do find a good back up plan too. The reason I don’t roll my own, is the back up side of email. Google just works and has amazing spam, (and now phishing protection), and is very searchable. You can’t lose an email with Gmail.

Ed I’m a big supper of the government giving heroin away, in control houses.

It would cost under half the amount per person to give then heroin than it costs to police it.

If you was to give it away, it would make the street price of the drug worthless, so dealers would stop selling it, and that would have the effect of dealers not forcing people to take it, so no more (or very little new addicts)

So the addict that we have, would get free heroin x times a day (I don’t know how regular is normal), they could be offers councillors to get them off it, or simply live there lives on it untill they die.

The outcome is the same, within a decade or two there will be no heroin addicts. Better than that, with in a month or two, or the start of such a programme, heroin related crimes would end.

It’s win win win, legalise it for 20 years, and the problem fixes itself. Ban it for 100,and you’ll still have the problem in 100 years and you’ll of been paying 2 the about to police it per year, than you would being proactive.

Sell free heroin to all “scum” just can’t be sold on a manifesto, so all theses “scum” will never get true help.

Even if you don’t care for the addicts, the numbers add up and far out perform the “head in sand” option. So it should be a no brainer, but no party would dare try it.

I wasn’t referring to smoking it Richard. Its a plant that is suspected of having alot of goodness hidden away in it. It is still not full mapped out just. Medical testing  was band many decades ago. Now that I he rules have been loosened, there is going to be many studies.

Also i dont really agree that pot is a gateway drug, no more than alcohol is. most people grow out of pot by the time they hit there early 20s, myself I was 16 as i joined the marines, when I left the majority of my friends, that did smoke it (everyone) had stopped.

The ones that carried on, and progressed, are also the ones that drink alot and bet alot. It’s not the pot that was the issue, it’s there “addictive” personality. Still smoke it, take other stuff and are alcohols,

Most people get careers , and/or family and the drugs, and excess drinking comes to a natural  end.

Ether way it matters little what you or I, think of the drug itself, testing will be done, and more than likely pills will be made from it. A new potent plant can only be a good thing. It should never of been band from testing in the first place in the US. It makes no sense. As has been said, opium isn’t illegal to test on.

Now that medical testing on THC has been legalised in the US we should see lots of interesting  studies coming out over the next few years.

Airports + young kids put me off air travel.

But I don’t think the environmentists are working as flying us stupidly cheap now.

One of my lad went to alicante for a week in half term £100 return (fights only) my other lad just returned from Turkey, he paid £200 for a week full board. (week after Easter half term)

Last week I was pricing flights for us to go to alicante (from Liverpool)  for the mid August. And was amazed it was only £140 return. And car rental for two weeks, a small car, £89!

I’m still driving, I’d rather have my own car,and avoid airports. The only I do airports is when I’m alone, and going further afield.

Manchester Airport is free to drop off, and you can pick up free, as is gatwick. Liverpool is a con job! When I was younger and pre john Lennon airport, Liverpool airport was a good afternoon out. We would drive down there have a few pints watching the plans. Now it would cost you probably £30 to park.

Liverpool airport!  I was picking my son up from it last week.  i was there for 25 mins, it cost me £10! It cost me £2 to drop them off.

To make it worse, the while run up to the airport now has double red lines, with signs £1000 fine for stopping.

                                        Now thats a joke.

So I suppose they are open to an attack. But if that person could find their way onto my network via any of them, I’m sure they would have the knowledge to  brute force the main APs. So I’m not to concerned.
