I’m reading a book regarding the history of worms and exploits. Only a third of the way through. But is SMB a more secure/evolved  irc backbone.  As I see all the early exploits took advantage of that.

I’m swinging in the dark here, probably way off. Before this came to news lately I always though SMB referred to a samba. And before the book that irc was just a chat system. But now it seems chat ran on top of irc, and samba could be an extention/relation of it.

        I’m learning so be nice.

The book is ‘Worm:The first digital war’ by Mark Bowden.

That’s cos Britain do everything half arsed Jason. I even notice that doctors have to grab a conversion chart when they ask your weight.

            We are a strange country.

Anyone have a good idea or tale while the US imperial gallon is less than a real one? I’ve heard a few tales, but no one seems to know.

I dint know there was that much diffence. Last I heard free sat was on its way out.

It must of done a big u turn.

I could never get free view, (no reception) and we tried the free sat, that sky gives you when you kill thier service. No one watched it so we can hacked the boxes.

First thing he should do is change the password, that’s a given. The copy all his contacts to another service.  very easy, find export to csv then got to Gmail and import the Csv file. That will put all his contacts in the new contact book.

Them delete all contacts out of the TT mail. At least that way, if breached again if has no address to send out crap to customers etc.

Then just keep the TT mail going as an inbox, and as each person is email him, answer it from the new Gmail.  explain in the first responce that this is the new company  address and they should update their records.

He can proactively batch send an email to all at Fort telling them to update the address, but most won’t do it /forget until they need to speak to you. So then do the first reply method.

Given the old TT web mail won’t have any contacts in it, it’s relativly benign and safe. So even if it takes a year untill people stop sending its fine.

Also tell him to send the received email to his Gmail account, either manually or automatically (via auto forwarding), but keep deleting the originals out of the TT account.

                Hope that all makes sense.

But I’d have to agree with richard above, I wouldn’t try to hard to convince him, as if he follows your advice, and his business tanks, he’ll most likely blame you.

If you have an aerial, you could get free view box. Usually cheaper as there is more choice.

There is nothing between free view and free sat. Saves buying and hanging a dish.

I’d recommend he migrates from it. Just keep it another 6 months if need be. But answer email form a new service. I’d say Gmail. If he doesn’t like Google, GMX mail.

Also if TT mail is so compromised, he may find alot of his sent email just goes to spam boxes.

Also if I delete with his or any, company and started to get spam from the address, I’d delete his a dress from my contacts and add it to the spam filter. So having a comprised service will be bad for his business longterm.

Migrating an email is far easier in practice than it sound.

He should move. Google offers the best webmail service bar non.

I’m not aware of Flynn, or the saying tbh. I doubt I’d be the first to come to this point, as I sure ain’t special. Well my mum said I was, but I don’t think she meant it in a good way lol.

It’s defiantly a different  world, I think today kids can do problem solving, it’s just a different set of skills needed.

Re the steam engine. I didn’t actually mean they would, just that they probably could.

I do think play sets like technique Lego, and michano should be pushed on kids more. Now it’s all themed box sets. As a kid I had the motors, and the pneumatic pistons and spent hours to weeks creating things.

Also as my old man couldn’t afford the offical Lego motors, we had one, and he made me a hand full of the modular 9 or 12v motors,  spaced  and glued the flat blocks on. They was actually better than the offical ones.

I think kids today miss learning these skills. I got oldest  all this kit, and non of the kids through the years took to it like I did as a kid. I use it more to be honest while playing with the arduino.

I was just having fun. Bit your spot in day, society moves on.

What always amazes me is how each generation jump, (may be two), people are on average smarter, it’s a very fast rate of evolution.

Things like steam engines, once not long ago they was the pinnacle of science, which craft to the average Joe. Now I reckon one brief hour lesson to the average 14 year old, and they would grasp the concept, no problems. Withing in a few months could probably build one.

In a few years that will be cpus, maybe they won’t be able to build one, but they will just be a give that everyone understands how they work, they will be amusesed the average Joe from now still doesn’t

There is many examples  this, but I always find the steam engine one the easiest to explain.

One thing you get folk are worse at is the written word, and this will only get worse. With the Internet, American English is the given language, and most of the world’s English speakers don’t come form England or USA or any country that has English as a 1st language. I think on 100 years, less, English will of changed drastically. More so than from Shakespeare to now.

I’m ahead of the game for once.  :yahoo:

Most local pubs will have a self employed Arial sky installer, that will do it for peanuts.

Pubs are like magnets to Arial fitters and plasterers.

They must of upped their game. As the original unit TT sent me with FTTC, was terrible. I’m sure when I was talking about mine, you lot had the better version, probably a revision.

Ive never had luck with provided Routers, always having my own, the current asus one I have had been fantastic. Money well spent. Abit old now, and wasn’t topend, but it keeps up with out house just fine. That’s around a TB a month.

I admire how my phone can translate imperial to metric, and any over conversion. Kids today have no need to learn, or even store knowledge. Thats old school.

I’m surprised my router works at all, it’s in the far corner of the house behind a TV, pc, PS4 and surround sound, all the wires (cough rats nest) probably create some type of Faraday shield.

From memory I can’t recall beating west ham since the 2007/8(ish) cup final.

We probably have, bit I can only remember the defeats. Actually feel abit sad for West ham, 12 months ago, everything was great, and and a push towards the top group looked on. What a diffence 12months make. Well 3 months for West ham.

I don’t really know the inside and outs of forest but heard on the radio they have just been taken over, and the fans seemed happy on the phone im? I’ve not looked into it.

Couts isn’t a bad player. He isn’t as good as the football press make home out to be. When I he is on it, he is a proving world class, but he does go missing alot.

Lalana is our guy, with out him setting the pace, we look stale. Klopp spoke about last week, that he wants to move couts back, into the midfield, behind lalana, it would mean less width, but would give him more time on the ball, in the “half space”. West ham seemed to be the first time he had tried it out.

I reckon if we fail on Sunday, he is gone, I would be, and I’m a lifelong Liverpool fan. Also a Spain sunshine fan over the rainy NW Eng. But if we make the CL, I think we may get another year before he goes.

To keep him them we will of had to win the league or the CL, neither is likely.

THIS ISN’T OFF TOPIC, as the boss pointed out one of LFC top sponcors is Nivea.

Sadly bob yes, they was a british outfit that was chartered to go an “finance” operations in Africa and india. About 200years ago.

They merged into one about 50 years ago. But they are never far from scandal.

Comically they have a clause in there LFC deal that if they don’t think a player is right for the SC brand they can force the club to sell them.

The nivea sensitive moisturiser is brilliant, always use that when I need a clean shave, which is rare these days. Usually the first time I meet a potential client

From Xmas eve untill the 1st of May, I let my beard grow. My mustache was awesome,  little twisted sides the Lot. Only kept it going so long cos the wife hated it  :yahoo:

But to be honest it was a bit of a choir, brushing,  trimming and oiling it each day. It looked good, but I got fed up.

Back to sensitive skin. All my life I’ve avoided soaps. Johnsons PH shower cream was the best ever, but they tweeked it then replaced it with crap.

About 6 months ago someone mentioned giving “Natural Glycerin soap” a go.

I got some unscented stuff, (I also hate artificial  smells), and I love it. It’s brilliant, hardly drys my skin at all, and I love not having an oder. The only smell I like is butter cream moisturiser. But since the swap to this soap, I hardly have to moisturise.

This isn’t cheap, and it can be had cheaper, but love it so much, I’ll buy the exact pack again next time.
