I had a 1997 Rover 420sli, the thing was ‘chipped’ to over 180bhp by a previous owner. The thing had a bad drinking problem. It was a great car though. Shocked alot of 3 series BMW drivers on the motorway. Quick for the day.

I installed 10 on an 8 laptop yesterday and it activated automatically. Not sure how or why, but it worked.

Yes Dave, it will do all the lady wants with it, which is brows the Internet. Facebook and bank. I don’t know why she doesn’t use her phone for fb, but she said she prefers the pc interface.

It wad hardly snappy, compared to my lenovo carbon i7 ssd etc.. But I’d happy use it non the less. I was surprised actually of the difference once the fresh version on 10 was compleat. It took 5 hours to install 10 of a USB stick! So I wasn’t holding out any hope for it. But one installed it worke fine.

She did have macafy on it that was out of date, it kept informing me. So God knows what other pc world bloat was in it, plus years of crapware she had picked up.

It’s a good job Thursday was a slow day at work. I reckoned 2hours topps! 5 hours. Plus an hour or windows updates. Which I wad shocked about give u made the usb installed only the day before. I’d of thought it would be fully upto date!

Win 10 eventually installed, and all is well. It auto activated and is now quick enough. She has it back.

It was origanlly win 8 lappy. 2.6 celeron with 4gb of ram. And a surprisingly  large 600gb hdd. Seems OK for Facebook duties now.

I’m already in the possess of installing 10, she said it was from pc world so it should of been activated.

If ten sticks I doubt it will be activated. But not a big issue as I will just grab her an ebay licence.

Personally and not on board with the whole climate change due to humans. There is little everdence I’ve seen to make the claim with so much conviction.

Also there is zero money in disproving the theory, so all reports are geared to prove it.

Everyone wants it to be true as their is possibly trillions of quid made of of it.

The earth is warming, but once we was an ice sheet, before that a tropic. This has probaly flip flopped 100s of times since time began. Now we (humans) are here, and think we know best. Awe literally know the tip of the iceberg.

That ‘tip’ is the top of a lot of carbon footprint dollar signs. These hippy kids are just doing “the mans” work for him. All what will come of this is higher taxes for all.

Somimg set. She recons it was always black. Shown her mine and she could recall it ever looking the normal way.

It’s painfully slow, I don’t think a reinstall will perk it up. Have no idea of its innereds, as it was so painfully slow for me to even investigate. Never seen a pc so slow.

Mine gets 22mpg. Though my commute is all country lane, 10 miles each way of great windy roads. Drive like my hair is on fire. I’m sure this rock will be fine either way.

My old laguna would do 55 all day, and high 60s on the motorway, kat he’d with a 75l tank, it would get me to Paris and still have a 3rd left in the tank. My current car gets just over 300 per tank. 😭

Got mine yesterday morning about 9am, not opens it as I’m giving it one omy locals, who doesn’t have alot, so not opened it.

We have 5 or 6 minis, two maxes and a hub. So didn’t need this free one. But knew my local was after either a home mini or dot for his girl.

Use Google play music in the home/car, and really like it. However I use Spotify in the pub, and it just works well there. I have an old 1pad mini, that runs it, and my locals use it a a juke box untill 6pm min-Fri. Then they get kicked to the actual juke box as it gets to busy then.

I’d drop Google music if I wasn’t so invested in the goog universe. Plus my kids like YouTube music, as does the Google home hub. And I like YouTube premium. So play music/yt music come bundled with all them.

However if i was starting a fresh, I’d go Spotify premium.

Once you plop it on the net, its no longer yours anyhow. Not unless you safgarded it first. So just be satisfied it was good enough it’s caught manys imagination.

But if it was me I’d buy a cheap data only sim card on landing And use whats app or fb messenger for the gouration.

That would be the better solution. As then you basically have a sorry mate computer says no moment. And point to a monitor with the face flashing on it.

It’s always best when you can hand off to an higher authority. As pissed people never like a know. Had a big night last night, and a few ‘incedents’.

It probaly could, but my patrons don’t mind not being able to get a signal 😉

And I use WiFi calling, as probaly a few of my customers do. For the list of jobs I have, phone signal ranks close to last. Thanks to WiFi calling. Tho I must remember when I’m next in the market for a phone, to check it supports WiFi calling. Otherwise I’ll be looking ofr a booster.

I’ll probaly get the latest moto g next time. Hopefully that supports it. Actully have a moto G7 in thd pub, but it has no sim, or not one with credit on. It just acts as the pub watch phone using what’s app group.

When we see a pub watch member in town, it’s broadcast to the group, also if you chuck some out for being pissed, drugs or aggressive behaviour, it gets broadcast and we (the collective) won’t let them in the other pubs for 24h.

We work like this as we have about 10 pubs all in shart walking distance from each other, so it stops someone acting up in one pub lowing they can walk next door for anther pint, if expelled. Works well.

                                      Sorry totally off topic.

Wifi calling is very good. I’ve never needed an app to use it with EE, and I’ve been lucky in phone choice as I’ve been able to use it for about 4 years (maybe more). In the early days I was amazed at how it could hand the call off from WiFi to GSM, (if it is GSM) with out me noticing.

Strangely I can’t get a phone signal in my local pub, or my own pub, (the must all be lead lined), but wifi calling solves this issue 100%

Now if your connecting to open networks, always use a proxi. Just out out of habit. As you just never know.

I’d say an android is better so a kid, as you can lick it down very tight if you want to. However if the kid eis willing to put the effort in and learn somthing, they can get around it. Sort of carrot and stick effort if getting a kid to learn learn somthing new.

Also I’m to old and in the android ways  to get the hang of apple ios way. my 11 year old has a 7(iirc) now (hand me down for bigger Bro), when she had issues It takes me ages if ever to sort simple crap out for her. I’m now feeling old, as Im finding myself saying ‘wait till your brother comes round’ more and more 😥
