I agree on his approach, I just think his timings are awful. This ground rebuild couldn’t of come at a worse time, for the position of the club.
Regarding the new build, alot of spurs fans are a little scared about the relative silence around how the the project is financed. So hopefully they don’t need to start off loading players to pay for it. Well I suppose with the new tv money, not buying players, is the same as not spending that cash on players.
Regarding the income of the ground, it’s no less relevant than ever before, but a good back up, for if/when the tv bubble bursts.
liverpools gate receipts for last season is “only” £70m, I think out top line was about 550-600m.
If the tv money was a known quantity in 2010 when FSG decided to invest (well intrest free loan) the best part of £200m in to an expansion that will rake in an extra £15m, would they of done that?
It’s depended on what the owner wants out of the club I suppose, ours want to maximise the club worth and sell it. Cost him £300m push £200m in test free loan to lfc, but wad was values last year at £1bn another.
But I think most clubs, it’s now not worth the £100m to add 3k seats. Not when BT/sky will be giving you £150m every year.
My loaner astra 1.4 bi-turbo, nice engine for town, vet nippy, sadly the chassis isn’t great.
However it had the latest on star /android auto/Apple car play.
The standard nav radio and source interface is sub par. Sub sub par. I wouldn’t opt for it. The android alot connected once in the whole week, it was great that once, bit in Vx and Google defence, I am using a prerelease version of android O. Thr apple car play worked every time withy lads phone, (I think ip7), but a point against Google and Vx my lads iPhone was running a beta version of ios. So could do better.
Over the last few months I’ve been testing lots of car entertainment systems out, and I’m now decided, if the car doesn’t have android auto, on offer, I would still not opted for a oem nav option. I’ve never seen a single oem made one that it decent, a phone, or tablet (I used in France /Spain) last year offer a far superior experience .
As Toyota don’t do android or ios on the bulk of the cars, I think camry in us has it, It makes the rav4h, which is in second spot atm, loose a few more points.
The Toyota system, is bad too. Better than Vx but bad still.
We’ll have VVD soon, and if Matip keeps fit, we should be much improved at the back.
Alot of money into the academy can only be a good thing, to many clubs, want instant success, look how well it turned out for Leeds. Some nice stability and maybe a few kids coming though over the next few years, could push you to acknowledge up the leagues.
Though like you, my predictions are always well off the mark. I can’t see Liverpool winning anything, but I it cos I don’t think they are good, it’s just we now have a great top 6 plus Everton want to push, and west ham have done well this window, so I can see them pushing Everton. Let’s hope they can push united into 8th. Very much doubt it.
Very disappointed in spurs atm, I love their model of slow growth and re investment, but now is the time they need to spend big on two players if they want to kick on and win the the league. If I was a spurs fan I wouldn’t be happy atm.
Not that we have done better, but I think VVD and Keita will be here with two weeks, and unless Naymar goes to PSG, barca can’t afford (fifa fair play) coutinio ?
Also if coutinio has another good season, I can see both barca and Madrid coming in for him. Ronaldo will be 35 by next summer, they need a replacement, if that’s the case, he can name his price, with them two fighting over him.
Seen David fairclough last year, at a liverpool dinner, (may of been the year before, I cant keep track of time), he was flogging his book, but he is always around the club, alot of the old guard are. We need to keep some winners around. Lol, seriously nice guy, very humble. Sad in a way that these legends never made huge money, and are now wheeled out at the weekend to meet and greet.
See Grobalar and his daughter almost every time i go the game, he is more mental in real life, and he must be 60 now. Much taller in real life. He doesn’t do the meeting and greeting, he is God father to my mates kids. He seats in the stands to, which I love. Especially when he winces are our current keeper. Though he was much improved last season. The season before, there was an Audible sound of intake of air, whenever the ball when near him. It must of put so much extra pressure on him. Though he done good last season. Figures crossed for this time around.
I don’t think so ed, laser focus is fairly common now, and I’m not sure how true their marketing claim of first AR/VR is. The pixel was sold with a free Google VR headset, thou I never claimed mine.
This asus will be a great phone, but at £800, I’m not sure. Well Im very sure, its not worth the price.
Ed that’s a crazy price given the cpu in it. Not a bad chip by any means, but over 12mo this old now.
I seen earlier the pixel 2 will have the 836 and should be £100 cheaper iirc my Pixel was £725. Hardly cheap, and imo not worth the price. But I don’t think any top tier is, given the run below isn’t that far behind in everyday performance.
Tbh the Moto e 2015 or even the Moto g4 (2016) arnt slow. If you didn’t have access to a say pixel or sgs8 you’d not think twice about it. Going the other way, from the pixel to the 2015 Moto E, you defo can tell the 1/10 slower reaction. But it’s hardly an issue.
Also even the most demanding of games scale well on android, the likes of Real Racing 3, works just as good on either device, with not much in the way of graphics loss. You wouldn’t tell unless side by side.
Same here Dave, except the wife, but she did have one, and liked it.
The only really issue with the old one was the 8gb internal space. Even offloading to sd only worked somewhat as some apps wasn’t coded to take advantage. So with 16gb and sd, I can’t see this being an issue.
16gb if fine for most Lite to normal users. Phones are like pc’s the more storage avalible the more crud you collect.
I have 128gb space and used 73gb!!! It wasn’t long ago I had a 30gb laptop.

Simply laziness.
Doesn’t is have a current read out, and an average over x miles in the two trip computers when you twist the left stalk.
The one I had, on the main screen it shown your current, fluctuating mpg, but on the two trip screens mine also shows, how many miles done, average speed, and average mpg since it’s last reset. All standard stuff, but the corsa (also 65 may of been 66)never! I found it bizarre when I heard, so when I got one I spent 5 mins trying to prove the reverse wrong. I couldn’t find it either.
Do you have a 3 door, I do like the style of the new corsa 3 Doors, especially with the sportier exterior trim.
What does SRI denote on the corsa, on mime GTC SRI, I think it means, half (faux) leather seats (hate full (faux or real) leather) leather door cards, leather wheel and a differnt colour trim on the dash. Which I prefer the non Sri black over the silver.
Also it has red led interior, which I’m not sure is standard of Sri.
Remember when many words demoted bigger/sportier… Just look and M-sport and AMG, you can get an all AMG’d out merc now with a 2L deisel engine ?
I know he is going to come back and score against us, but the guy is well past it. Hopefully he gets used used as a goal poacher, as he ain’t got the legs of a midfielder. It’s taken along time for the Blues to get over his leaving, even though he had no choice in it.
I like watching spurs, but have no intrest in them winning, past few years Liverpool have been lucky, with a decent style of play, I doubt it will ever win us much, it’s to “exciting” meaning we tend to forget to defend. Where as VG and José, know how to win, boring defensive football. Take one point of them around you and bully the small teams.
There is a great stat from his Chelsea days (first stint) they went about 2 seasons unbeaten at home, always usually “2-0 to the chelsea” was the chant.
Now that sounds amazing to all us other fans, but strangely the attendance steadily dropped, as everyone knew it would be another defensive mastermind and drogpa would grab 2.
To much of a good this apparently is not good. More so, I thinks it’s they way you go about it.
All BS aside, I’d apply go one boring season and win, please please please lol.
Hopefully VVD can strengthen us, but I don’t think it’s going to be that simple. All out Centre backs, seems to be made of glass. It’s not non of them are bad, it’s whey never get more than 4 game run together.
The season is approaching. With we would opt of of international football, and play a summer league, then have home nations of the Xmas two weeks. That would be my fix for football. To many years have I spent freezing in nov-feb.
I’ve not had any experiance with this device, but the pervious 2015 Moto E 4G, Was my go to phone for recommendations, to light/new or older folk, It was a fine phone for £75.( It started life at £125, but quickly dropped to £75)
I can’t see why this wouldn’t be the same.
The women’s game is coming on, but it’s still to slow and the lack of skill and amount of loose balls is noticeable. It’s like watching first division footy. A few gems, but mostly frustrating to watch.
However Lee, after 2 years of VG and José, most footy probably looks more exciting to a united fan.
Bob I learnt how to drive in a fiat 126, I’d love one now, but find one that isn’t either wrecked, a late model or over priced, is impossible.
The one we had my dad brought it home from a job he was on, that the guy was short of cash, so this bin of a car turned up. At the time we had a montego (maybe a Sierra by then, he had alot of them) and mum an xr3i. He proclaimed, this was his new car, and that i would have to live with it. I told him I’d never set foot in it. Until he said it was mine, and we could take it to out bike meets.
Shitty car, like the panda, that was mum’s first, but both have good memories. Like the cloth glove box!
Not as good as the memories of the xr3i that was the dogs danglies in the late 80s early 90s.
The fiat 126 had an Interesting life, it had not long arrived back from berlin, where it’s owner north of 6′, took out the passenger seat, and packed with foam to make a bed, drove it with a mate from northwest Eng, to berlin and back to watch the Hoff knock down some wall.
He must of been a labourer before fame hit ?
As a vauxhall owner, I wouldn’t waste your breath (figure tips) trying for an answer of Vx. They are useless.
What was your reception like with the stick head unit. My GTC is garbage, in either FM or Dab, and if you plug a phone into the aux in on the head unit, and try to charge the phone, it creates a ground loop. Also charging any device from the 12v socket kills any miniscule reception it did have.
Just a few of the electrical bugs Vx have failed to fix. Siting a design flaw.
I though this was BS, untill earlier this month, so fool hit my car, so the insurance gave me a brand new astra. 2 years newer than my gtc and an all new design, bit with the identical design flaws!
Also the same intermittent drivers door card rattle. That Vx can’t seem to fix! I find pinching it works.
The ground loop issue I cured with a £7 isolator off Amazon.
I won’t be going back to Vx for a good while.
I did moan about all this after my last failed attempt at getting something fixed, and two moths later I got an email from Vx, or rather a 3rd party customer service assessment team, asking would I like to take part. It will take zero time out my day, I just need to pick an assessor up round the corner, take him/her in with me, then drop them off. Pick them back up when Im collecting the car and they will pay me £75 +.
I emailed them saying I’ll contact them when my service is due. Which isn’t long as my “oil life monitor” says it has 11%left.
Marc, does your corsa have a mpg read out. The new one, even with Sat nav, doesn’t. I couldn’t believe this when I read the reviews, but I’m my last trip to Vx they gave me one, it was a decent mid spec, leather wheel, half leather seats, Sat nav, cc, sl, auto lights and maybe wipers, but no way to see your average mpg. I found this completely bizarre. Even the £6k Viva has a mpg read out.
I like the City go, iirc cisterns take of a city car is rear wheel drive. Not that your going to have enough power to get the rear out, bit what it does achieve is a longer string rack so the thing can turn around on a stamp.
Now I own a car that can’t do a u turn on the widest of roads. My car is wider than the stock astra, and has uprated ground suspension (and rear), and it all adds up to about 2meters wider circle than my old laguna estate! So I’d love a bit of pirouetting in the car .
The wv up is nice too. I like all that family of car. Though I’d wasn’t something no smaller than say fiesta, with a proper engine.
And pm, the correct answer is panda 4×4, if you need a little mountain goat. Though I think the Dachia stepway is now a better by than a panda 4×4. Great car for the money, a proper honest workers/beater car, that can take any crap thrown on it, and it it’s really good when of the black stuff.
Other than the 4×4, the panda is never the correct answer ?
Have you seen the price of them bob! All it is is a posh ka. Lol. (half)Jk aside, the Biposto is a mental little fiat, both the 595 and the 695 are not ment for the road, you can order the 695 with a dogleg sequential for iirc £17k optional extra. But neither have compliant suspension, which wouldn’t do for ones back.
5.9s in a car that small is gonna feel stupid quick, matched with its “firm” and short wheelbase, it would be dam dangerous on the local country lanes. One slight skip and you’d be over the hedge.
But yea, they are my type of car. But couldn’t justify £33k on one. the new Focus RS, All wheel drive 350bhp (+/-) is only £32k. And you know the conversation has gone silly when you use the term “only 32k” in the same sentence as ford focus, a £16k car.
But oh the new RS, is worth the £32k, crappy interior or not. They should of faclifted it. Same with the fiestas, they look so old now.
Marc. I don’t listen to music, so I’ve never noticed a drop off from Dab to FM, as I list to talk sport if I have to put the radio on.
I was serving when serving private Ryan came out, and I remember the opening scene in that making an impression on us.
Not seen this one yet, but I have an issue with films set in yesteryear being shown in crisp HD. I bought band of brothers on blue ray, and never managed to watch them all. I went back to the dvds. The crispness works against the muted filters used in ww1/2 films for me.
I have no doubt I’ll still like like this, maybe I need to find a 480p version of it. Lol. Though I doubt you could beat watching in the cinema, for the sound alone to add realism.
Controlled and well drilled chaos.
Bob are you sure his name wasn’t uncle Albert ?
Sound is not my thing. Sorry.
Did you purchase the Dab+ box, it looks like it wad an optional extra at $38, I think with out this it can’t receive a digital signal. The built in app will should cover the FM band, but regards to an android app for FM tuners, I’ve never looked into one. I known only small se tin of phones, come with FM available, usually the very cheap ones, and they all come with an built in FM app.
With regards to nav sound vs media sound, the only good nav app that let’s you manually change the nav volume independently of the media volume is Here Maps.
Ive found here maps uses a nav algorithm than Google maps, I don’t think it is as good for daily stuff, but if your going to a crowded end point, it will give you a completely different route to all the sheep using Google nav. So it stays on my phone for that alone.
Also its free, and has a better interface than the comp, Impo and doesn’t require a data connection.
Regarding you radio streams, they are never on par with fm/dab feeds. Also i think the streams are only two channel, but this may of changed.
Lastly it sounds like you need an amp. The head unit probably had a DAC that is related to the ones in android phones. The majority are poor. The good ones not much better.
I plug my phone into my car daily, I have to push the phone to 100% and then up the head unit volume to 58, this is for Audible (books) , normal volume for listening to Dab radio is 11. If I was interested in music, this set up wouldn’t surface.
Ive never played with one of these head units, but know all the people that fit nexus 7s (remember them) all heeded an added amp
Do you have a picture or video of your set up. Just nosey tbh.
I was talking to the wife, about getting a fiesta St at some point. With their poor interior, it’s will be ripe for a retro fit.
She said, why don’t you get a panda, I like them. I said learnt to drive I’ll get you one! Frigging panda. Ironically that was my mum’s first car when I was a kid. So I have some nostalgia for the old ones, but I don’t want one. The point was to have a town car with a bit of go in it. Especially as I’m soon be be getting a larger car.
I have a soft spot for warm hatches. Lol a fiat panda…
I left the FF fold about ten years ago now.
I was just about to say Bob, you can sign into Google straight from the browser, but then I noticed you use Firefox.
