Bob you have me all wrong. Stalkers are amateurs, the herder’s (is that a word) are the pros.

“I don’t need Id systems to micro manage the minions, digitise the all the cash and I steer the herd.”

As a wise man once said.

        Probably.

I can’t say I ever look on my Gmail spam folder. I bet it’s got 1000s of dates lined up for me.

Well I was wrong. It just says 99+ unread in the spam folder. The majority is apple Id scams and PayPal ones. Also wileyfox seems to of been hovered up into the spam filter, so I just white listed them.

Google will auto delete spam after 30days it just told me when I opened the spam folder. Understandable given they have over a billion Gmail accounts active. I’d bet there is more Gmail addresses  than there are people on earth. Even if not active all will be getting spam each day, which I’ll add up to alot of wasted serverspace. Especially when you think your email isn’t kept on a single server. There is probably 10 backups of it around the world.

If you make the currency 100% digital, it won’t matter if we’re chipped or not. The government then has full control, they don’t need chips, gps or even boarder controls. As if you can’t spend, earn or employ without all monies being transparent, you can’t live/survive  here with out being fully ligit, and in full view of the gov.

It would be a relatively cost free way to gain alot of control. No need for big government databases etc. Just control the flow of cash. If you can’t pay your immigrants they won’t come, same with the people that work on the side.

It would solve alot of issues, or at least go some what towards doing so. But in reality it would more likely highlight a shed ton of economic issues, that we (the gov)  rely on, like grey immigration and working on the side.

Benifit cheats are a great headline grabber, but in reality offer no great threat to budgets (just fairness), and in some respects help business that rely on cheap labour. It would be nice to actually see a study on the effects of getting rid of “working on the side”, vs the cost of the “benifit cheat” to the tax payer greater than the net positive effects on the economy as a whole allowing cheap labour. Tomorrow the whole country had to “go ligit” how many businesses would go under?

But in the case of fairness, it would level playing  field, but on a macro scale do we actually need a level playing field, or is the status quo, actually better for a fragile economy. After all our biggest employer is the service sector, one of the easier ones to more liberal in your hiring policies.

Soon we will all be on a living income off the gov anyhow, so all this will be mute.

It’s good, and when my mandatory citizenship chip program is rolled out, I can a side side avenue for users (owners) to store their own data on a part of the chip  for they type of uses in the link above.

But untill then, I think some sort of smart watch/bracket would be just as good if not better, and not need a doc to set up.

But for now, I recon your phone works just as well for all the tasks.

Ed, that Boston dynamic (google) dog, is awsome, but so stupid for that application.

It’s to noisy for a (uk) Marine section to use, and to limited for use in a general term.

However it’s still cool. Get some ev motors on it, and a decent range and then it’s a viable mule. Or just get a mule, would be cheaper, and you have a good lunch walking with you, for when it’s not needed.

We did get powder orange in the rat packs, but i don’t recall it tasting good, wet or dry.

The stuff we got on the 30miler, I don’t think was that, could of been, but it was made up in tea earns, you’d fill up drink, fill up, and move. Most would chuck it up withing minutes, and slowly drink the second water bottle of dirty orange before the next cp.

The only good thing in a rat pack was the powered choclate to mix with the oats.

I detested almost every meal in them horrid things. Most of the time we had to eat them cold too, which would mean by day 3 you had a lot of food on you. Funny enough after 3 days anything can taste nice.

Beef stew and dumplings, omg would make me wretch. Sausage and beans I didn’t mind. Was decent cold too. But I’d eat all the “crappy”   stuff first,  like the chocolate, and kendal mint cake, and the biscuit browns, to stop you needed to go for a fortnight. I don’t recon my teeth could get though one of those today.

Last year My BiL had a ton, and I mean a ton of end of life rat packs,, he donated them to a local charity. I wanted one to sample what’s changed but he already got rid of them before letting me know.

If it wad me, I’d of kept the lot and fed them the kids for a year. Or at least kept them as punishments.

@tadka the MS wired 600. I bought it to’ tied me over’ as I was sick of buying crappy £40 ish boards, I either didn’t like or would fail. So I decided I was going to spend some serious money on a mechanical one, but only after testing a load out.

So the MS 600 “stop gap” turned up, and I’ve now got 4 of them. My eldest loves it to, he had one on his Imac, which I find ironic, it’s so not a brand for an apple set up.

I like them as to me they feel similar to my thinkpad x200t/220.

You ping is 30miles over boggy land in under 8hours. You it 22lb in your webbing and your rifle

But that happens day 4 of yeast week (4 day week) starts Saturday with a 12mile load carry, my personal worst, following day the endurance course, with is world famous. Paras would come down and not get near the time. Day 3 is tarzen assault, with is very hard, then day 4 the 30 miler.

All are with 22lb and weapon, the load Carry you also had 60 or 70lb in a burgan, which tbh isn’t s bad as it sounds as on operation (and exercise) you carry twist that as you’ll know. The 30 milers you also carry a patrol/day Sack with rations for 48h and some emergency/ safety gear. Probably 7lb

My worst memory was at each of the 10mile check points they would make you drink warm orange juice (some type of powers crap with salts etc in)  and two bananas. As you will know when your tired, eating is the last thing you want to do. Also i hate orange juice and bananas.

May of change a bit now, it wad 19 yo passed out. Then you would do your final ex, 4 weeks in the field, then go strain into test week. Now it’s vice versa. Or it was changed around, when training went from 30weeks to 32weeks, with 751 troop and up.

Now bob, we called then cap comforts, they date back to the war, it was way the original commands war, in training and the field. No beret or tin hat.

These days you get blesses to were them when you enter the commando stage of training. About week 20/22 iirc, you are the dogs ding-dong once you have that. Many don’t make it that far. First tou do the normal 16 week infantry style basic, and have a mini pass out ad a train solder. Well the pass out is a “well done”. Then you move on to bottom field,  intensive fitness, and strength. Then once you pass bottom field you get the cap comfort and enter the commando stage.

Down side to the cap comfort and the commando stage is, you can’t walk, everything is double time, even when stationary, so it’s a tiring 8/10weeks ,with out the training.

Once you get to the end of the commando phase and compleat the tests you get the green lid. Though I think now you then do the final ex 3 to 4 weeks in the field, where  in my day you done the final ex, was absolutely f*+k, lots of injuries ankles, knees, etc..  and no skin on your feet, shoulders, back and lower back, then had to start the tests. Now they have it easier.

So the CC is just one of those militery traditions.

But it take one over a helmet, or a beret in to the field before a stupid helmet, I comfy and really restricts what you can see. I’d rather have all my Whits about me, over that change, you may get some shrapnel  to the head. As that’s all the protection they offer.

Same with body armor. Given the energy uses a 7.62 round, our body armour is usless. If you was to take one to the chest, the back of the vest has a centre seam, top to bottom, they spits as the vest is dragged through you. Most “lost” their vests quite quick.

As like the helmets, it’s more a hindrance, especially in hot climates. They are heave, and tight so consticts not only movement, but your ability to breath freely.

OK for a light round or as a stab vest, but again I’d always opt to not wear it and have my full skills and whit about me, to stay or of these situations. It’s OK the mod saying they are a must, but they should actually come down and try using one.

We carry enough crap, with this “safety crap” which I, and many more believe   heightens the risk of safety.

The mask above seems like a good idea on paper. But if is was to run a few hundred yards (back in the day) in full fatigues, flack jacket, helmet and now a visers, if be goosed quit quick, I’d overheat even faster, and steam up the viser, so would be blinded too.

I find Gmail gets a minimal bit of spam from time to time, very rare, I think it’s when Google either try a tweaked algorithm, or the spammed find a hole.

It usually last a couple of hours and consists of be blocking/reporting  3 or 4 bits of mail.

This has probably happened 4 times in 10+ years.

If you turn ‘inbox on’ I haven’t, it will also filter all your grey mail out too into seperate social, marketing, etc. I never took to ‘inbox’ but many love it. It’d like Gmail plus.

I thinks it’s for the type of person that likes a zero inbox, as it is set up to fire through your emails. I defo don’t have a ‘zero’ inbox, I have thousands unread. I usually get a call, did you get xyz x weeks ago,  good old Gmail search will always find it.

I really like it, it was my gateway into the Google ecosystem, funny it wasnt even a mainstream Google road map, but a 15% time side project. Now it’s the back bone to the world’s largest os.

What the hell is that for Chris? I hated wearing  a helmet full stop, they would often be taken off, as they just get in your way. Most thought they offered a higher percentage of getting injured that not wearing it. Never mind the fact they seem to almost aways cover your eyes on fire manovers.

Not to mention they are too hot, I bet they would steam up like a respirator  when your on the move. At first glance I thought it was some kind of respirator.

Or it it simply a posh mod cycle helmet.

I’m forever breaking aux cables, so I’ve found using a small extreme cheap and flimsy wired aux extention  fixed my issues.

As the cheaper ones use a smaller gage wire the wire buts less stress on the plug so the wire doesn’t snap and ad the wire puts less for on the plug, the plug puts less stress on the port.

Works well for phones in cars. I’ve killed many aux ports on phones using decent wires. Cheap and flimsy is what is needed for the half of the ports.

Helos to me bob. It still bugs my BiL who has worked on rotary winged aircraft, (different from fixed wing, (a plane to me))

But he still calls his weapon a gun, which is a sidearm, and the ammo bullets! And you you lot called the gpmg a gimpy, which was a hugh no no for us. Even though much quicker to say.

You can call a side arm a gun, that’s fine, or you can call a rifle or a gun a weapon, but a rifle is no gun. It’s a weapon. And you have rounds not bullets. Round go in, and bullets come out one end and brass out the other. If your lucky the hot brass goes in your oppos open jacket.

Anyone that will know, when your underfire you will have your jacket open, and that is where your spent mags go. And the guy to your lefts spent brass!

I suppose in your day bob it ejected from the top? Mag underneath? With out some Google foo (too late) I don’t actually know /remember. I shot a lot of old stuff, but only really remember the sa80, lsw(long sa80), gpmg (back breaker and motor magnet), law 94, which was mostly pointless and heavy, And of course the staple 81 mortar which to was also back breaker, and made you a heavy weapons magnet.

Always better to just have the SA80, it brought less attention on you in the field.

I’ve not looked iny Hotmail for years. I use it for the sign ups I’d rather not. Si I literally   open Hotmail. Com click the first “authentication” email then close it. Last I looked it was full of porn, viagra, and Nigerian prince’s.

MS know me so well, I’m sure they do spy on my browsing hehehe

Joking aside, I treat my Hotmail like a spam sink hole, and that is what it become. However in the day pre Gmail launch, I got in early, the reason was my Hotmail addy was already a mess, and that had to be 10 years ago.

Though my live.com account seems less molested, but I rarely use that, so it’s relatively  unknown. I don’t think it’s outlook is bad, I just thing Gmail is better at what it does. As I said it’s now 10 years old, and still spam free.

The majority of Raf today arnt the brylcreem type.

I think the whole UK as a whole only have 8 aircraft, the raf probably 30%

So cadets turn up for bull night/inspections. I was paid and use to look for places and reasons to hide.

In reality I sucked at actually boot shinning, I’d iron an oppos uniform and let them do my drill doors. It bored the life off me, just like drill.

In regards to inspections, the RM are laid back compared to other regiments. Once you got the first half if training out the way that is.

Do you make the cadets do quick changes, getting all kit and uniforms dirty?

My BiL is now a Sgt instructor in the raf, (on his way out) , and he is now one of “them” that he whinged about a short 12 years ago.
