It seems José found the keys to that bus again.

The Spore drive is the way to go bob. If your not watching the new Star trek series on Netflix that will be lost one you.

Another good syfy series currently on nf is ‘the expance’, turns into a great story, once it gets going. They don’t use the spore drive, but seem to get about quick.

I’ll not revisit this thread untill after motd or, i stumble across the score. Which is more than likely in this day and age.

I have no doubt Liverpool will win in the most magnificent fashion. Do hopefully there will be an upset, as lfc are odds on for a loss?

Though I’ll not be watching sadly. Have to try a;d avoid the score till motd.

In these guy(and gals) defence Bob, I’ve come to fine it’s there fear of “somthing” that makes them so bad with anything computing related.

My wife is a good example, she is well educated and rather bright, however she is a disaster with anything tech related. If I ever try an talker through a fix, it’s never ends well. She just falls to peices, and seemingly looses the ability to follow directions, and just randomly press buttons, and totally forgets basic navigation functions around an os.

It’s quite an amazing site. Her mother and father are the same. The mother is now in that dangerous positions that she knows just enough to get herself into trouble.

Reminds me of an old football saying, “he is is just good enough to get you beat each week” lol

Read the majority of our defence. All decent enough, but just enough to get to beat. After Saturday (tomorrow) I may go dark, if our back 4 don’t pull their figures out.

If we get a bad result tomorrow, which is likely, an not convincing on Thursday, come Sunday and spurs, if that too goes against us, I think Ancelotti may have Jurgens seat.

I don’t think just a united thumping will be enough, (especially ad we are one point better off than last year, not that the press have remembered),but this meat week, I think is make of break for klopp.

I’ve never had issue understanding our scottish neighbours, or even Newcastle folk, I always put it down to having a fast accent myself.

Locals to me, say when my finds come to visit my speach speeds up to the point I can’t be understood, I never realised I did this, untill one day my wife’s friend  (local to our current home), when in the pub, said to me, “I’ve been stood here 20 mins, and I’ve not understood as single word you four has said so far”.

The only British accent that has ever stumped me was a lad in RM training that was from a quiet farm in Cumbria. But I think he actually spoke some inbred language. To many generations living on a small farm. His accent was thick, his speed was 3x mine, (which is quick), and he used words I’ve never heard for before or since.

He was also very religious, weirdly so, and slept with his eyes open.

I can remember all that but not his name. Which was a strange old man name like Albert, or Fred iirc.

The one thing I liked about sky was they usually had Irish staff baxk when I was a customer. It felt every other months I’d spend an hour chatting to them. BT I left as u could never get anyone to answer a call. The final nail was when I wanted to upgrade, from wanado to BT Internet, they had a good deal, I spent the best part of a week in hold.

I recall Sat in my office, with the phone on “speaker” while I worked away, iirc it was 4 or 5 days in 4 hour stints. When I finally got a human, I was fuming, already contacted talk talk by this point, and just said cut me off, I’m leaving.

TalkTalk have Indian(ish) call centres, but in their defence in the many years I’ve been with them, I think I’ve had 3 issues, all been fixed relatively fast. I think one took about 2 weeks, when my upto 8meg conection dropped from is usual 3meg to sub 1.

One thing I do hate about all isps, but understand why they insist on it, is them always wanting you to plug in the provided router. I have my TT one still in the box sealed with my own Asus router sat upon it. So when the time comes, it’s to hand and not buried in the loft/shed/office/etc….

Over all I recon they are all about as good as each other. Suppose it all depends on the area you live, and how well the infrastructure is maintained by open reach. As if your local last mile isn’t well maintained, then you have to test how good your isp’s customer service is. I reckon they are poor. So whoever your with if there is issues, you’ll hate your isp regardless.

Though counter to that, I had a friend that lived 200 to 300 meters from my house and he was with TT and he would tell me how bad their Internet is and how stupid their cs staff was.

However he is in his 50s and “doesn’t get stupid computer things”, so I can only guess his issues was of his own doing and he was unable to follow basic instructions.

He would moan that his Internet couldn’t send emails, stuff like that.

The reasons I give up on the cleaning in the winter. It’s been a week since mine was done, and you’d never believe it was done.

The insides was done to, but we undid all that good work after paintball!

It may of been me, watching after a wash keeps a car cleaner longer. In the summer a good 2 months, just a springs off every no and then. However around mine, mainly country lanes, and in the winter they are full of mud and worse, so your car is dirty the same day you clean it.

Mine was cleaned last week by the dealer, when in for its service. It’s doubtful I’ll clean it again before February.

I’ve never been one to wash my car often, but my current car is a dark matalic gem rod green, like British racing green that looks black when not in sunlight. It’s beautiful BUT, I’ve never owned a car that showed dirt as bad as it. To keep it clean  I have to Polish and wax it! Which I hate doing.

Glad your enjoying your new motor.

I actually put it on in the background last night, while playing airport ceo (great BTW). All I can say is, if that is what we have to offer, we may as well give up now and spare them the humiliation.

I liked Glenn hoddle in the big seat, but that didn’t end too well.

I won’t be watching hinge tonight, watching liverpool play fell yet fail is hard enough, so I not gonna watch England limp along in the most boring way possible.

I hope he does well, as no doubt I’ll be sucked in at the tournament. But I’ll watch the majority of the games regardless of if eng is their or not.

USA 94 was a great great tournament, ROI was great. Hopefully Wales make it this time round.

Turkeys don’t vote for Xmas I think is the saying. If your on the inside, making a good living, why would the people with the power to change it, bother?

I still think a more Singaporean parochial to political  life is needed. Ie no carrier politicians, go in to service the over 55 with a max term of 10 years, and hugh punishment for self agendas. It wouldn’t fix everything, not close, but it would fix alot.

Politicians today don’t seem to realise (or long forgot) they are their to look after the people, not themselves.

I have no issues with austerity measures, as long as they are for the greater good, and explained. That’s why I didn’t mind the DC government.

Though today is a different world to 2009. Still feels strange to view 2009 in the past tense.

FiL loves this show, I honestly thought It was just a new years eve show, as if we do new year at his it’s the done thing in their house to have this on. Usually it will be a Lee evens dvd (bores me to death), then this show. Luckily for me they like a drink so I’m usually hammered by then.

In mine we do bbc1 for the fireworks. Usually watch a couple of kids films curled up on the couch, watch the fireworks then bed. We don’t drink in our house. I’ve not drank in my house since about 2005. Except the odd occasions when friends stay over. Nothing against drinking at home, my elder kids do it. I’ve just don’t like a during outside the pub. Funny my dad was the same, even though he was an alcoholic. Thankfully I’m not. Though untill about 4 years ago I did go out about 5 nights a week, so I could of been on the path. Now I get out about once every other month.

Never been one to go out on new year. I don’t like enforced fun, or being ripped off.

Still not seen Dunkirk, it’s on the list.

I not sure I’ve seen the original BR, I’ll have to put it on to refresh my memory. So I’m not really interested  in the new one. Also remakes/s equals rarely live up to expectations.

The one with Tom Cruise looks good atm. But Im not going the pics to see it. Although I’ve not been the pictures to watch a film for me since star wars (the last one of the middle 3 films), I just go to watch pixar and Disney crap about 5 times a year, and in the past decade, I’ve enjoyed one, guardians of the galaxy. Not seen 2 yet.

You can probably tell, I don’t watch alot of films. I’ll usually fill my tv time, watching old docs on YouTube, and get lost down it’s rabbit hole.

Bob, – Spent the day paintballing today with my lad, (he was 16 this week) so we took him and his mates. I’m not as fit flexible or mobile  as I once was, I’m aching all over now, I’m going to be sore tomorrow. But I battered them it was really fun, eventually they all nailed me, I forgot how much they can hurt. Or I may just be entering middle age, and I’ve gone soft.

We was there for 4 hours, (in the rain), and it cost less than it would of cost to take 15 kids to the cinema, not that it was cheap, but was fun.

No link between the two,to seperate brands. The Blackview P2 is clocked much slower 4×1.5ghz 4x1ghz compared  to 8x2ghz on the Lenovo. It seems the same cpu (I could be wrong) I have no idea of the BV gpu.

The black view has a larger battery, 6000 vs 5100mah, same screen size and res.

It’s biggest drawback is it’s a chi phone, meaning we have no idea on the company and its record of security and updates. Also alot of chi phones, you can’t update, even if an update comes out as your likely to get a Chinese rom. They don’t update there English (int) roms usually. Unless the device has a healthy following on xda forum (a place I check before buying a phone), I wouldnt touch it.

I’m looking at getting my girl the huawei media pad M3 for Xmas to replace her iPad 2 (she is 10, and adopt the iPad2 from new so it’s almost 7, picked it up from a US airforce bace in San Diego). I do trust huawei, the wife has the P9, but I’ll still be looking to see is xda have picked it up. If it’s not I’m gonna get her an iPad mini ?

Defo, I said after the last election, that it was the best result for Labour. Whoever is at the helm for the brexit farce, was never going to come out of it well. A real poise chalice.

Labour made loads of ground, and luckily for them didn’t win.

Im no tory fan, I wad never a fan of Cameron, but could always see the reasons for what he wanted to to do, and it was at a time when Labour couldn’t even tell us what it stood for. But now, I don’t like her, and it’s showing she is now in way above her head. It’s a crying shame DC felt he had to promise a refined, because of the potential UKiP threat.

Now we are in a total mess, DC didn’t want brexit, and gambled it would fall flat, it never. The actual brexit group, didn’t actually want brexit, proof being they all resigned the day after they won. In an “oh shit moment, what have we done” moment.

I think they tried thier hardest to loose the race, with the mental “we are sick of listing to the professionals…. ” quote. Hoping that would pit people off. Though they never realised the power the unofficial fringe had, that was selling brexit on lies.

I’m still don’t think we’ll actually leave. I said it from before day one, (I was in the stay camp) but did say I’d like to see brexit vote succeed, just to see how they would riggle out of it. Sadly I’m getting to see the riggle

I think it’s nailed on Corbyn is going to be the next pm, I don’t think it will end well, he is the polar oppersite of TM.

Perfect world, a socialist country would be best, one bordering on communism. However in the real world, we are in the capalist era, and it’s impossible to turn the ship around, without a dictator, and they never end well!

You would think the answer would be middle ground politics, but TBs new labor F+#ked that up. However after mays (far) right tenure, and Corbyn (far) left tenure, I think we’ll be back to middle ground politics.

I think I’m basically saying non of them work. Capitalism is a flawed concept. Socialism even communism, on paper is perfect, but you need the major world players all on board. Like one government that is in place to actually serve the people and distribute the wealth evenly. But that system can’t work if the majority is running on the debt ridden, in fashion driven capatalist set up.

It’s as if capatalism is set up to slowly funnel all the money in one direction.

Personally I’d rather live in a system where I’m a pointless  cog in a system that looks after everyone, rather than a pointless cog in a system that only looks after the top 1%.

I know my opinion isn’t widely liked. And I’m not stupid enough to think socialism isn’t gamed by the top people either.

                                        Greed is human nature.

It’s late and I’m rambling. Good night all.

Ed- in total agreement on all the points you mention.

Corbyn was quoted out of context from an old speach, where he said invading the middle east will only increase terror attacks at home. His words got twisted to “Corbyn says it’s out solders fault we get attacked” which is not what he said. What he said is something I’ve thought since pre Iraq / Afghan mess. He was totally right, but the press won’t sell papers with headlines like that!

Im not a big Corbyn fan, so this isn’t a Labour vs Conservative thing, more a common sense thing.

That ars article is pointless. And rather crap. There is no doubt the moon is ment ad a side show, to some how get the public on side, for what I can only imagine is going to be one hell of a budget proposal, that in reality is exactly for tech grown and most importantly will support the military complex for the next decade or ten.

All the big contractors on that panel, are all there to place their company at the head of a new era. Basically private companies running the us/world. It will all be sold to the people on nation propaganda and job creation. While really it’s a power grab by companies.

If in the older I’m getting the more I distrust governments, and their agendas.

With our RN RM, they give a lot of aid around the world, most countries that need help, have no working infrastructure, first responders is usually from ships. If their is no threat to the Matlows don’t need protection, the RM do the same support role as the navy.

Tbh Ed, think we need less large ships, unless we go all out and match other nations, which is impossible, so what’s the point? We need small highly train men that are adapted and hardware to suit.

Just thin how many marines could be trained and kept, for the price of our crappy carrier with no planes. Probably enough to cover a hundred years.

In my ideal world, Britain would take a back seat to international issues, however I know money talks, and we need to keep selling weapons to sure up the complex. Just like the US and their space council.

Now talk about redundant arms of our armed forces, we should ditch the raf imo, as both the navy and the army can fulfil their role. I have nothing against the raf Btw, they do a good job, I just don’t see why we need them.
