Cool, will have to empty my local shop later.
Congratulations on the phone, a big congratulations regarding the forum, it’s progression and for reaching one. Almost.
That’s a shame, but as Dave says, it can be had for pennies. I got one of the cheap office suites for a couple of pound when Dave last posted about it.
I didn’t really need it, I just wanted to see it it actually worked. Given office pro would once cost about £600, or whatever it was back in the day.
The only office I think I ever bought was office 2003, and that was via uni. So was only £30 iirc. I also got I think 2005 (if that was one), but that was given to us by the local high school, evey pupil got a full licence, for a year or two. I thin MS was making one of thier pushes to keep office the processing suite of choice for the next set of kids.
I had all the product keys written down, office and windows, but my eldest lad lost the paper. my 10s of win 7 product keys and two office suite keys lost forever. ?
I wouldn’t worry Lee, as others has said. A long time. The official advice is 6 to nine months. But I know we have had longer. Took us two years to eat a duck once.
And wee cook a lot of meals (stews/soups/curries), portion it in to single servings, for easy microwaveable meals. Are freezer is full of ‘surprises’ as they often don’t get labeled.
As someone mentioned above, if you defrost your freezer, or elect coupes off for more than a few Hours, youll have a lot to eat.
Cool Lee put out the fireworks for Liverpool ?
Sorry BL, not cos of the score, more your lots performance. I’ve never ever seen a ground empty so early. Personally I hats people that leave early. But I’m amaze they didn’t go at half time. I think that was the worst 45mins of footy I’ve ever seen, and I’ve some poor displays.
To their credit they had a decent 10 after HT, but our 3rd took all the wind away.
Ive heard the calls for the manager Thr last two weeks, but it seems way deeper than a manager replacment. The payers need a fire lighting under them.
God knows how. I have no ideas, well non that dont break the law.
Nose bleed time bob. Sadly it happens to some teams that wander too high up the table. Just look at Everton, full on altitude sickness has set in ?
Lol
Depending how this match goes, it may be me (or BL) that’s trully f-ed off.
Bob, You’re lucky we ain’t allowed to tell people to f-off here ?
I’m not sure how Leeds has so many enemies. Liverpool isn’t one, but almost all the other northen clubs hate them.
Never looked into why. Been a few Leeds home games. Ellen road. (if that’s how it spelt) is a cracking ground. Have an cousin that lives in Harrogate and one of her ex boyfriends was a Leeds fan so I’d go with him. Was probably 10 years ago I last went.
They was going thought their decent times when I first went, but they could of been on league 1 the last time I went. If they ever dropped that far
My knowledge of football ends at 17th spot in the PL. I don’t mix with the riff-raff of league football lol.
Not untill we end up down there.
I just wrote something super insightful and long (as usual), but this buggy beta software (8.1.0) decide I’d be better not sharing my thoughts! ?
Hope all is OK with you GS bob. Today I have the kids at the eye clinic as they need testing for something that my MiL has just been diagnosed with.
Back to the phone, it seems cheap for a super high end product, that will sell low volume. Especially given they have designed a new heat shield, or rather they d singed a solution that pipes heat through the chassis.
1. All this says expensive phone, 2 it says it gets hot, which ultimately means it eats battery. 3. I’d also be concerned at dropping £600 (even though I thought it was his would be £1100) on a gen one product from an oem with no prior experience.
If it was me, I’d possibly by it, but if my lad wanted one, I’d be pursuing him away from this product. Wait it out till gen two, or at least wait untill it’s 6 mo has old and revaluate the phone. Plus it will be cheaper.
Personally if he wants to o blow a fortune on a phone that isn’t an iPhone, and given he sounds geeky (in the way), I’d tell him to get the pixel 2 xl, failing that the the new one plus 5t that will be here next week or so, which will be around £500, or the Moto X⁴ at £450, of the new moto G5 at £160.
All solid phones, that are guaranteed long term support.
I’m not knocking the Razor phone, it looks epic, but it’s alot of cash and a cut throat business.
Looks a great phone, I have reserves on the battery, it may be large, but pushing a 2k screen at 120hz in games it’s gonna eat the battery.
Though you cobble it to 60 or 90hz, but that defeats the point.
Either way I think it’s great, however I highly doubt this will make it to v3. Very likely they won’t make a second.
Bob, we have 5 kids, and there is always Atleast two other kids, either family or friends, and I’ve never seen any drop in my wifi. That’s with all out tv on wifi too.
If you have an n class router you’ll be fine. If you are getting speed drops, it will be your actual Internet speed not being up to serving that many devices at once, not your WiFi. So being wired or wireless wouldn’t make any diffence.
What you should do, which I did in the older 6mb days, is set my devices and tvs to have priority. I pay the bill so I don’t want slow downs. Lol.
With “just” 20meg, That may be what you need to do, set your tv boxes to priority. So it will be the phones/tablets etc that get nobbled. Given they don’t really need more than 3mg each, it should leave lots for your tvs and of course your PC. You pay the bill after all.
Dave- When I was looking to see what model number my printer was I fired up the ‘mobile print’ app. Give it isn’t needed I’ve not launched it in ages, and it asked me if I wanted to register for auto ink replacements.
I don’t think so at twice the price of non branded toner. Thou I do like the idea that your ink will turn up when it detects its low. I’d like the option to choose your own supplier, but that is never going to happen. You probably could rig up somthing to monitor the page count and use ifttt to alert you or even lint to an ‘amazon dot’ like thing.
May be worth the effort if you run a host of printers, but hardly worth the effort for a home user. Would be nice.
I have the M2070, mono laser, and I wouldn’t go back to an ink jet. As I don’t print loads, or rather I can, but it’s no often, so ink jets always died on my.
Samsung mobile print app is good, but I’ve found it’s not even needed, the print plug-in, from the app store works fine,so printing from app level is simple.
Easy set up on Windows and Chrome os, plus ios just seems to work out the box.
Ive been very happy with this printer.
I print photos that infrequently, I don’t miss a full printer. Once or twice a year I’ll go boots and spend £5 or £6 for needed photos. Usually they are for jn school presentations.
Once, or twice, year I’ll buy a photo book off line, but I always did even when I had a full printer.
Strange how Samsung seem to be dropping it printer business, but I can’t see there being much profit in it. Especially for such a huge biz line samsung.
No lastpass, no play for me.
Chrome on Windows, is feeling very slow lately. It may be time to check some of the comp out. The hard part is I’m so far down the Google rabbit hole, I doubt I could get back out.
TalkTalk say they never throttle. They probably do of you really take the pee, but I don’t know what that amount would be as we use above 700gb a month.
it’s probably more now. But since TT’s packages all went unlimited uploads, they removed their online usage meter that I use to use. Their rep said as they are unlimited across the board there is no need for it. I liked it, I was always checking to see if we hit the 1TB. The only time we ever did is when we was away, and it was something like 800 down and 500up. I asked the two elder lads what they had been upto, and they said “nothing”.
God knowns what they was upto. Our uploads are usually around 100 a month. I have no idea where the uploads come from.
As Lee says the now tv box is wireless, it’s just a rebranded, cobbled roku. (original one was roku lt, they are broadly roku 3 based now.
Either way I can guarantee wifi is good enough for hd viewing on the box. All my rokus /fire tv/etc are wireless and never had issue.
Now tv is great bob, £7pm for basically what sky now charge around £21pm for. That’s what we have, the entertainment package had all the main sky channels you need. And the option to pay £6 if forrest are ever on sky sports. ?
Sky’s epg died the day they upgraded it to the fancier looking HD one. It looks 10x better, but was 10x slower to use.
The best epg set up I’ve seen is the one that comes with the TalkTalk tv box. It’s not proprietary to TalkTalk I just can’t remember its name.
I set the tv box up at my inlaws as I have no use for it, and it’s trully oap proof. It just works. Using on demand services without the user knowing about it. They just scroll back in time and hit play. It polls from the relevant od service. The epg is fluid and fast. The boxes only issue is its boot time. Which wouldn’t be an issue if my FiL didn’t insist on turning everything fully off when not in use. From standby is not bad, from off it must take around a minute to boot.
Always like the look of LG g5, but in Thr hand it feels so cheap. They really f-ed the whole module integration up.
I wouldn’t pay £230 for that phone. The reviews on it panned it on launch. It’s a shame as I think the design look, was the best of that years devices. I was going to buy it in spite of the reviews, but when in the shop I got the 6p and the wife the P9.
The Moto Z was so much better at the whole module implementation aspect. The connectors was good, and mainly it make the phone feel flimsy and hollow, which it was. I love the idea of it though. And the look as I’ve said.
I could of even looked past the ui…. Maybe. Probably I couldn’t, even if it was Stella, it would of problem been ‘drawered’ within 6 months like evey non stock/cm device I’ve had.
