I don’t think I’ve ever proven her right. I just seem to get the blame, whether right or wrong. Which I’m never wrong. Lol.
Are you sending me an Xperia Dave? I’ll look forward to it. ?
If you have a work and personal phone, you can combine the two.
It’s more common in aisa to have dual sim device. I think the international version of the Moto are only single sim. The dual version will be fine here though.
I was never a fan of the underground. Use to have to do it in the 90s returning to exeter on Sundays. A real pita.
The tube itself is problem a God send to locals, but as a passer-through, I just hated the speed of it. I was usually heavily laid down and, cos it was a Sunday, works was usually ongoing so meant us outsiders was just lost.
Another day of the week, you’d not need to go near London.
BL – is I forget not all can edit. I’ve always had the option, so never think about it. So I have no real excuse to my low standards.
It was both in the title and in the post you put ‘switch’. If Dave wouldn’t of mentioned it I’d never of noticed.
I’d not of changed it if it was just in the he post. But as it was the title I did to stop any future confusion.
Can you not edit BL? @blacklion1725
I edited it for you. We can’t have typos on the forum?
I didn’t even notice it in the title, but I knew what you wad on about as I’d seen the offer. So I must of filtered it out. The same way I filter out all my typos. Reading what I think I wrote, not what I actually wrote.
My wife got a blue badge about 18 months ago, after about 3 years of her trying . As of yet we have never used it. And been London twice since!
Think we are going again in April, I’ll get her to look into that.
The news of this checker is of little use to me given I’m about 300 miles away, but thought it may be handy for a few here.
I really the FF app, some nice features and il use it when I need the vpn as it does stop the RTC leak, but sadly it is alot slower than chrome on my Pixel. Alot slower, a quick test just loading this site, and it must take at least twice as long to load it.
Ive had a theory for years that the march of computer progress, just makes us less and less patients. Them extra milliseconds years ago would be so much quicker than a page loaded say 10 years ago, and we was all fine then, 10 years later it now a relative eternity, and just angers us.
Eventually the human race will have zero patients. This can’t be a good/healthy trend.
I’m going to check FF and Dolphin HD (if it’d still around) as that was my default go to for years on android before chrome launched. I always liked it better than chrome, it was just chrome linked with my desktop better, with the chrome to go add on. Something that’s not used anymore. Going back some years now.
Seen this deal last night. Also doing the new gen 2 echo for £20 off (so iirc £69) and the same £10 option for the TP smart plug.
So a nice saving of £35 on the two.
The plug atm is £25. Up from £17 of my first on, and £20 I paid for my second two.
I have noticed over the last month or so, the prices of alot of things have gradually but quickly been moving upwards. I think the price of the pound shift is really starting to show. I don’t think 2018 is going to be a good year.
Lee, showed this the wife last night, she loved it. ?
I’ve found windows 10 to be super picky about picking up second monitors, then hard trying to swap them around etc, with my gtx 970. In the end it was easier to swap the cables around than it was to swap them over with software
I think Display ports, out rank hdmi, so it will always set the DP as default. I can’t recall my actual issue, but I think if u had a, monitor in the hdmi port, then add a se on to the DP port, the DP one won’t show up, so I have to first plug into DP port, then into hdmi, then they both showed up, but in the wrong orientation. It wad rather that, or the compleat oppersite, where the hdmi needed to be plugged in first.
I think it was the creators update that made this happen. It may well be fixed by now, but I’ve not messed about with the set up since then.
Glad you have it sorted.
Your spot on, while doing the test at first glance it looks like a US ip, but on close inspection, it warns chrome on android (amongst others) is leaking your actual ip too.
Interesting. I only use it for tricking The footy that is live in the US, which works (for now), but I think I’ll have to have a play with other browsers.
My phone (s) have no issue tracking me, I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. The only time it has issues is when your on boats/ships, it really screws with the software. Which is down to the lack of connection coverage.
Google tracks app is a good basic app to track your distances covered and elevation changes. But over all I just let Google do it, and randomly it will ask me to verify if I was at such a place.
The biggest pro to Google’s tracking is when Google photos uses it to make automatic photo books of days out. Some think them creepy, I’ve don’t really care, I just know the books are alway good. Bar Andorra last year, where EU data isn’t supported, so Google have me magically jumping from one side of the pyrenees to the other A fair few times while is was in the ‘black spot of Andorra’ for a few days.
I used ‘here maps’ once i realised I had no data on my phone. I loaded all the maps I’d need on my Hudl ‘just in case’ before we left home. It makes a fantastic sat nav BTW.
BL can you expand on why RTC is bad for VPN’s please. I use hotspot shield on my phone with chrome, to make the 3pm footy streams works from the US, when they are blocked for UK etc.
Side note, since the last big Windows update, (red Stone iirc), when i enable the vpn, windows just kills my Internet completely, on all my PC and laptops. I always thought it a bug, that HSS would quickly fix, but it’s yet to be fixed.
There use to be a busker that Sat in the subway outside Liverpool lime street station, he was well known, was there almost my whole childhood.
He had a beemer around the corner, and a nice house. I doubt busking makes that type of cash. So was either rich and bored, or selling drugs. Think back it was probably the latter. Lol
Ed – I think the old galaxy s(s) and note(s) had some secondary GPS type, iirc Russian, to fall back on. Don’t know if the later and/or cheaper ones have this.
Bob- oh I know exactly what you mean. ?
I just read a piece on how the latest version of FF (57) is twice as fast of the April (52) release.
So maybe worth a look.
Really? I didn’t think the network made any diffence. Especially as they come over wifi.
Tbh I’ve never bought a moto locked to a network. I think the last phone I got locked was the iPhone3g. As that was unavoidable back then. O2 only back then iirc. Also the original Android G1 was also a T-mobile exclusive. Sake year as the iPhone 3g, 2008.
Though our moto phones have Giff Gaff sims in, never had an EE sim in. Although me and the wife are on EE and not had issues with the monthly security updates. Mine arrive about 3 weeks (pixel) before the wife’s P9. Usually a boring the 6th of each month.
Just checked and the last one I got was the 5th of Oct. I think it was bundled with the 8.1.0 update. But maybe that come a week earlier. I can’t remember.
Edit-Just reread your post, and you should be on 7.0 now, however the security patches are seperate from the actual os updates. Not sure why you have not been updated to 7.0 yet. Looking at an Ars tech report on the Moto G4, from 2016, moto said they are not supporting the monthly security patches released by Google, saying they “get there in the end” , but wouldnt promise them monthly. Reading between the lines, the patches look like they will be bundled with os updates. This is the old way, and would means, as moto devices are always a year behind the os curve now, that even the day you get 7.0 you’ll be over a year behind in the patch front.
I don’t know if they have changed this policy since. I always assumed moto did the monthly patches. I’ll need to check the kids phones. Hopefully someone here will chip in on the subject as there are many moto owners on here.
Have no need for a g5 (atm) but the g4’s we have here are very good indeed.
Also with moto it’s almost stock, and you get all the monthly security patches for Atleast 2 years.
I’d go moto over anything in or around there price points. Except the higher end Z. The Z is a good phone, but they mix with the big boys, I think there are a few better options once at that price point.
